CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

ZEPHYR'S POV

I watched her until she disappeared in the hallway leading up to her bedroom. I scoffed, going over to pour myself a drink of water. If only Taylor knew how hopeless her efforts were.

I don't know why but I can tell whenever I look into those shady eyes of his. I need you to find them. I need you to dig them up if they are buried, catch them if they are ghost, hound them up if they are alive. Then send me a message.”“I will do as you say.”I zipped the bag and looked up. “I want to replace your king. He isn't capable of handling the new era when it comes. This is the attributes of a real king and you are a king in my eyes.”His froze, his lips parting but he couldn't say a word. He fell on his knees and thanked me. CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN ZEPHYR'S POV“Zulu, tell me about that group whom took Taylor?” I asked, keeping my eyes on her while I wiped her arms and her face. Zulu was quiet for a moment. “Don't be like your king. You should know better than anyone that I'm not in any state to show Mercy right now.” I reminded him, my voice sounded absentminded but he knew well that I had my full concentration on him. His choice of words were crucial for his stay next to Taylor and he understood that.“To be honest, I didn't know they had grown so much. I heard of them a few years back. They were worshipping the goddess Shila, the goddess was sent to our realm as a wolf so the creatures of our realm would have a protecter who was close to us. I thought it was a small group because everyone knows that Shila has returned to the moon goddess.”“But..”“But it wasn't apprently.” He completed it for me. “Seems that have converted many wolves into believing Shila will return if they worship her. My gu

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN ZEPHYR’S POVHis eyes narrowed on my face then he let out a sharp exhale, a half smile tugging on his lips.“Who would have thought the Alpha Zephyr himself has a soft spot.”His smile curled into a sad smirk and he muttered almost as if he was talking to himself. “You two are really made for each other, I can see that now.”He turned his back on me and then he said, “She's scared that she loves you. Your lips, your body, your heart; she is scared that it will trap her and she will never escape.”He heaved. “I thought I understood your relationship with her; you know, a negligent Alpha and a needy Luna cooked up in a marriage they cannot get out of. But now I see that she wants to believe she is with you for whatever reason she can conjure as long as it's not love.”He started walking away, one slow step at a time, like a wounded wolf. To my surprise, I found myself feeling bad for him. He just realized that Taylor liked him because she wanted to get away

I was left alone with Taylor in my arms, waiting patiently for the Lycan guards to come to me.Zulu was the first to arrive. He had been given a task outside the pack when this happened. The way he rushed in, with his body damped in sweat and his eyes laced in fear, was more brave and bold than I could admit to. I began to wonder; if he was in the pack, would he had saved her on time? If I haven't caused him to be sent away, maybe none of this would have happened. When Zulu saw her in my arms, not a single inch of her body moving, he crumbled to his knees and cried harder that anyone I had ever seen.He rose his fallen head and glared at me with a face covered in tears and dread.
