Samantha
I woke the next morning to Kennedy growling protectively. Christie, the girl who told us about Kelly was trying to take her from under Kennedy's arm while she was sleeping. Kelly was latched to Kennedy with Kennedy's arm wrapped protectively around her waist. She bows her head, scared of me and chokes quietly, "I'm sorry. Your friend Anna asked me to bring Kelly down for breakfast."
"Tell Anna I'll take care of them when they wake up," I say softly and she looks up with relief when I didn't tell. "It's okay, Kennedy gets protective when she sleeps, especially when she's napping with Anna's daughter."
She nods lightly with understanding and looks at Kennedy's sleeping face. "We're all grateful to be liberated from Carolyn's rule. We've been waiting for the day one of us would finally stand up to her. I just never imagined it would be Kennedy of all people," she chokes quietly and leaves the room.
I rub Kennedy's arm in comfort and she
Samantha I know I normally stay with her while she's sleeping, but I want to go with the others back to their community. I want to go find her family home and bring something back of her parents. I only hope I get back before she wakes up. I brought Kelly to Anna's mother and asked her to check on Kennedy while I was gone. Anna told me I should stay, but I had to do this for her. I had to bring back something for her. When we made it to their community a little over a half hour later I started searching for her childhood home. Some of the others gave me directions and when I found it, I couldn't believe my eyes. The house was burned down to the foundation. There was nothing, but a pile of charred rubble. I sifted through the remains of the house for what felt like hours and was about to give up when something caught my eye. I squat down, picking up the burnt frame and took of the back. Inside was a photo, burned at the edges, but oth
Kennedy Five weeks have passing the blink of an eye. I started my second trimester last week and at thirteen weeks pregnant, my stomach was starting to form a little bump. Samantha can't keep her hands off my stomach and smiles every time she looks at my growing belly. Thankfully the nausea has long passed and I don't need to constantly drink the ginger tea. My appetite has nearly doubled since the beginning of my pregnancy and Samantha is relieved. Kelly kisses my stomach before bed and every morning. She's been sleeping in her own room and only comes in our bed when she misses her family. Samantha leaves a rose on her pillow every morning before she heads down to make breakfast. It brings a smile to my face every day, no matter what mood I was in the night before. As the pregnancy progresses my mood swings are like a ticking timebomb. Everyone steers clear from me when I get into one of my moods, especially Samantha. She'd come running whe
Kennedy I woke up the next morning and Kelly was tracing her finger over the spot I hit my head. Her small lips kiss my temple and I hum a content sigh. "Good morning mommy," she says with a smile. "Good morning sweetie," I murmur quietly and she lays facing me. "Are you feeling better," she asks with concern and I nod lightly. "Did you want to come with me to breakfast? Daddy must already be downstairs." "I'd love to," I say with a smile and we make our way down to the kitchen. Sam looks up from the tray she was arranging and comes over to me with concern. "How are you feeling? I was on my way with breakfast," she says softly, sitting me in a chair with the whole clan watching. "I feel fine," I say softly, showing her through our bond. Relief fills her eyes, caressing my face and gives me a passionate kiss. She pulls away as tears roll down her cheeks and I was left confused by her actions. Did something happen las
Kennedy I woke up fuzzy headed and groan with a hand on my forehead. I could feel Samantha behind me and she lets out a relieved breath. She caresses my stomach and I feel tears at my back. "You've been out for two days," she chokes in a whisper. "After you collapsed, I killed the council. They knew it would happen and didn't say anything. I lost it." "I'm sorry," I choke in a wavering whisper. "No, it's not your fault. You only did what you thought was right. Just promise me, no more full shifts until after they're born," she chokes with relief. "I'm not sure I'll ever do another full shift. My head feels like it's under water," I say in a breathy whisper. I place my hand over hers and ask, "Can you sense them? I'm too fuzzy headed." "They're fine," she says in a soothing whisper and I let out a relieved breath. "Do you want to try eating something?" "Please, thank you," I say quietly and she kisses my forehe
Kennedy I woke up, snuggled between Sam and Kelly. I feel a kiss on my shoulder and look behind me at Sam. I let out a content sigh and snuggle closer to her. Then I remember the rouge leopards that were going after Kelly and sit up with a protective growl. Sam sits up, caressing my face and gives me calming eyes. "Where are they," I ask in a growling whisper. "They're being held in the dungeon," she says in a soothing whisper. "Are you feeling okay? This is the second time you fainted in three days." "I'm fine," I say in a calming breath. "I feel fine. I promise." I climb out of bed and head downstairs. I feel Samantha grab my hand and lace my fingers with hers. I feel Kelly take my other hand and take hers. We enter the kitchen and members of the clan look at me with light smiles. "Good morning," Eloise says with a smile walking up to us and gives me a hug. "How are you feeling sweetheart?" "I feel fine," I say with a smile. I na
Kennedy I woke up cuddled with Eloise and a rose on Samantha's pillow. I smile at the rose and could smell her faint scent of vanilla and lavender, but I could also smell a faint scent of sandalwood mixed with it. I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion because no one I know wears sandalwood. My mate's mark was starting to burn and I half shift, running towards the pull of the bond. Clan members cleared out of my way, afraid of me in my leopard form when I'm not seeking comfort. The pull brought me to the infirmary and I was getting scared. To my surprise I bump into both Samantha and Skylar and they're both being tended to for silver wounds. I'm hit with a full blast of the sandalwood scent and it was coming from Skylar. I was hit with that familiar feeling from when I first met Samantha. "I already have a mate," I say in a confused whisper. Skylar looks up at me, the same way Samantha did when I first woke up in here. "You're the one pu
Kennedy I woke with two roses on the pillow next to me. I sigh in disappointment that neither of my mates were with me. I climb out of bed and step in the shower. I let the warm water run over my growing belly, calming their aggressive kicking. Sandalwood floods the shower and feel as Skylar wraps at my back. She places her hands on my drumming stomach and thankfully the kicking calms immediately. I let out a relieved breath and rest my head back against her chest. "Sam is dealing with something with her parents. She could sense they were stressed and sent me. I'm sorry neither of us were with you," she says in a sincere tone. "I had to inform my clan that we'll be joining yours and that you were my new mate. They know to treat you and Sam with the same respect they give me." "Even now that we formed the mate's bond, you can't sense the twins," I ask in a breathy whisper. "I guess its because they're not mine," she chokes quietly sweepin
KennedyHearing Samantha tell Skylar's clan about what happened to me triggered an anxiety attack. Sandalwood fills my nose as Skylar lifts me to sit across her lap. I close my eyes and shutter a calming breath. I feel her trace the scars on my back and feel myself relax against her. I hide my face in her neck and let silent tears roll down my cheeks.I can feel her leopard reach through our mate's bond and Claire purrs loudly. I could sense someone getting closer to us and Claire felt threatened. I turn my face from her neck and snarl at the group approaching us. Skylar places her hand comfortly on my stomach and I shift back. I could see how amazed Samantha was of Skylar as she was able to calm me rather quickly. "They're going to be helping Sam and I with protecting you after what happened," Skylar says in a soothing whisper. "They were with me when we fought off the rouges before we learned I was your second mate."The group kneels, bowing their heads at me. "We will guard you unt
