Flashback Freshman year College

I woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm clock. A presence that another day has begun. I can't choose whether it was the beginning of impending doom or I would be facing the stunning rays of the sunshine at the edge of the cliff.

The sound of my alarm clock is annoying, wait I forgot today is Monday! I grabbed my pillow and stuffed my face then screamed "ugh! I already hate waking up early," why did I get a 7 am class? On a Monday?! Oh yeah, so that next year I will not have a heavy load.

My roommate is still sleeping because her class will begin at twelve-thirty, I checked in on her. She is still sleeping her butt off. Lucky.

I headed to take a shower, thank god! It is not freezing. Apparently, I am paired with a loaded roommate. She made sure we will always have hot water for showers. I am currently in university because of my scholarship. It is one of the best schools in LA California, my hometown is not far from here. It takes a two-hour and thirty-minute drive to get back home.

After taking a shower I checked my phone for any messages or new notifications. I received a text from mama:

Hey my baby, wake up and prepare for school. I love you, make sure you take your vitamins and I will be going to work now my shift will end at 9:30. Call your brother. I think he misses you, or just check on him. OK?

Sure mama, take care and don't overwork yourself. Do you have any trouble with money? I can take jobs to help you, please don't hesitate. I will check on him. I miss you both. I love you.

... Sweetie don't worry about us, you will be our future doctor and I am so proud of you. Just focus on your studies and all will be paid off. Take care always, your mama is a wonder woman *wink*

I changed to a fitted brown tank top then leather flared pants the same color as my top, I paired it with my white chunky shoes. I headed to our kitchen to make our breakfast, while I prepared the food I called my brother because I still have a lot of time to spend.

*ringing*

*ringing*

" Hey sis! It is still early but, hey. "

"Hey Alex, How is school and why are you not preparing to go to school?"

"Sis it is still early, my school is still 9:30, school is great. I am the captain of the Football Team!!"

"OH MY!!!" I covered my mouth, "Oops, my roommate is sleeping, anyways that is so good, you deserve that spot. You have dreamed of that since forever. Now you have accomplished it I am so proud of you!"

"Thank you, sis, I was ecstatic when the coach called me to talk..."

We ended the call after my brother told me about him being the captain, and how he would lead the team to victory in his game next week. Then it was already six-thirty in the morning. I finished my coffee because I hadn't slept that much Last night because of the readings the professors made us read. I am grumpy if I don't have a sip of coffee if I don't sleep well. I left Isabel her breakfast that I made that consists of oatmeal pancakes and bacon. Then I wrote a note saying "good morning sleepy head here is a breakfast from your favorite lady friend" =)

After my last morning class, I headed out with a lot of books in my arms and bag. I am struggling to keep all of my papers in my hands, balancing them. Being in med school gives you a lot of papers and very thick books, it is not okay, trust me.

While heading to the library someone bumped into me I immediately screamed at the person "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? CAN'T YOU SEE A GIRL STRUGGLING HERE? ARE YOU A FUCKHEAD?" Then I saw him.

I don't know if it is only me but, it seems like everything stopped and all my focus is on him, then my anger slowly dropped. He has eyes you can't forget. It is deep forest green, it feels like I get lost in his eyes full of mystery, it is so dark that you could relate it to an abyss. Then he has a jaw that is so sharp I wonder if I touch it and I bleed. Don't get me started with his hair. It is fluffy brown, it is not your classic bedhead, it is fixed but slightly messy. His- I was suddenly distracted from my eye fcking, he cleared his throat then said "you should be careful where you are going next time tesoro, and next time don't use that tone with me. MOVE" Then I am back to ANNOYED to the next level, he just walked past me without helping me "Asshole! Ugh!" Then people stared at me, and I apologized to them.

Then someone helped me, I won't lie he is gorgeous, such a darling. He has coffee swirling orbs, but not as bewitching as Mr. Asshole, wait why I am suddenly comparing him to an asshole. I need to stop my short-lived obsession with him. This guy has curly dark brown hair, he looks like he is french. After he helped me I said, "Merci beaucoup, Je M'appelle Laila. Quel est ton nom?" He smiled, "Bonjour! Je m'appelle Ethan. Pas de problème! Wow, how did you know I am french?" I shrugged "I based it on your looks, anyways I am heading to the library" he nodded, "Oh I will come with you, I will study economics we have a test tomorrow"

We headed to the library, we actually did study then we got to know each other after finishing all the readings. He is great to talk to, then I learned his full name was Ethan James Smith, he is taking BS accountancy, his father owns one of the biggest fragrance companies in France. No wonder he smells so good. Then after he graduates, he would learn how to manage the business then his father would hand it to him.

After months of hanging out he asked me to be his girlfriend, at first I contemplated because being in a medicine course is hectic. But I also told myself to live life, so I said yes.

I still see Mr. Asshole on campus. I soon learned his name was Alessandro and I was warned of his dangerous reputation. Hearing the word dangerous made me ponder countless scenarios that would compel me to endure the thrill of being on the edge. I derived the conclusion that I desire danger. Unfortunately, he is graduating this year and I didn't even bother asking for his full name. But every time I feel someone staring at me he is the one who is staring. And we would always stare at each other for a few seconds then he breaks it *sigh*.

I became best friends with Isabel, she told me not to call her Maria because she feels like an old lady. If you are wondering if I have friends from high school that would be a BIG NO, all of the people there are fake and chase popularity. You are lucky if you found someone who you could trust and rely on no matter what the circumstances would be. I am so lucky I found her, we clicked instantly, she screams danger but, I scream innocence. She is crazy, so we balance each other out. 

We are already approaching the end of our freshmen year meaning I won't be seeing Mr. Asshole again. 

Little did she know, she would meet 'Mr. Asshole' again
