CHAPTER 09

MARSHA'S POV:-

I stopped my car in front of that deserted house. It was all dark around and the house was abandoned. That place scared the hell out of me. But I had to check the place. It felt like that place was pulling me towards it. As if it was a magnet and I was a metal element. I pulled my gun out of the dash of my car and checked it, if it was loaded. I stuffed two more refills into the gun belts that were on both of my thighs.

I then hopped out of the car and went towards that house. The whole street was deserted. That made me think what would have happened here that the whole street was deserted like no one ever lived there. I did not forget to grab the flashlight I had into my car. I made my way towards the house and checked. I peeked through the windows. But I did not see anything. I tried to look for anything that would give me at least some answers. I went towards the door. After almost five minutes of prep talk with my mind, I finally decided to step into that house. The house looked as if it was a haunted house from those horror movies we watch on halloween. Breaking the lock with my gun, I opened the door and turned on the flashlight.

I stepped into the house and looked around. The house must have been on fire. I could see fumes and clouded traces of smoke all around the house. I searched the ground floor but found nothing. I would have left but something inside me convinced me to check the whole house. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs. Looking around, I found a few things that looked as if they were placed in the house after it was burned. I sighed and opened the door of a bedroom. As soon as I stepped into that house, it felt as if I had seen that room. I went to bed where I saw a few things that belonged to a girl.

I ignored everything but grabbed the diary. To my surprise, that diary also belonged to Sierra. The handwriting in both diaries were the same. I secured the diary with my thigh belt.then stepped out of the room.

I checked every single room. One by one, all of them. But they were all cleared. Like someone burned the whole place but made sure to clean it all up so cops would not find out. "Find out what? Stupid Marsha, there is nothing around here. You are just wasting your time. It's better if we get the fuck out of this hell." I whispered to myself. After the prep talk, I finally decided to leave. I went back downstairs to get out of that hell hole.

Just as I was about to leave, I heard something. It was a sound as if a metal pot collided with the wooden floor. I held the gun up and went in the direction where the sound came from. I stepped into the kitchen and looked around. To my surprise, the kitchen was cleaned as well. It did not have a single spoon inside. I frowned because I knew I had heard something. I sighed and lowered my gun. There was no one around.

I was about to give up but I noticed something odd. I saw the floor had too many scratches around where the refrigerator was placed. As if it was pushed and pulled more than necessary. I grabbed the refrigerator and pushed it out of my way. As the refrigerator was out of my way, I saw a door by the end of the kitchen.

I opened the door and to my surprise it had a hidden staircase. Holding my gun up, I descended down the stairs. I saw a button as the stairs ended. Crossing my fingers, I pressed the button and lights came to life. I thanked God but as my eyes witnessed the most horrific scene of my life, I felt myself getting sick. It was more horrible than the nightmares I had been having for years. I felt an urge to puke as my eyes witnessed the most horrible scene of my life.
