Chapter Four

Over the years, werewolves have lived with humans, and interacting with them, but their existence had always been a secret, any human who finds out about them is either killed or turned to a werewolf. Most of the times, death seems the better option since most humans do not survive the wolf bite. The secret of who they truly are is one that has always been paramount for centuries.

Human fear what they do not understand.

Zach entered his company, his employees cowered as they greeted him. He knew that they were scared of him but he didn’t mind. He paid them well and won’t tolerate any excuse or laxity. 

“Good morning Zach”, Karen greeted cheerfully, she had gone on a shopping spree with Aramina yesterday, Zach suspected they did more than shopping but he pretended to not be really interested. 

He had told Mina that he will try to stay out of her life until she turns eighteen. That didn’t mean he hadn’t assigned personal guards to tail her although she did not know. 

“Karen, I have a couple of things to sort out this evening, can you clear my schedule?” he asked avoiding Karen’s eyes

Karen caught him immediately and smiled mischievously, “of course, someone has a date”, 

“Not a date. I just want to wish her a happy birthday, and see if she needs anything”

Aramina woke up feeling happy, yesterday was the best day of her life. She had fun. Her stepmother had travelled to Maldives and will be coming back today, but the thought won’t dampen her mood. Today was her birthday and she intended to look beautiful. Karen had provided everything she needed.

“Hey loser, get me a cup of coffee, Liam is in my room, and get him a cup too”. 

“Get it yourself, you passed the damn kitchen to come down this stairs” Aramina responded.

She wasn’t giving anyone the satisfaction of ruining today for her, not Nina or her brainless boyfriend. She knew Nina wasn’t going to act bitchy with Liam around. She just banged at her door a few more times and left.

 Aramina got to work.

It took her over two hours with Karen on the other end of the line to be satisfied with her attire. Karen was awning happily. 

“Go get them girl”. She waved.

Aramina got into the car Karen had sent, she hadn’t seen Zach for over a month now, but she received flower and notes from him, the notes were anything but romantic. He was bent on gradually teaching her what it meant to be a werewolf. Caleb and Karen seem to compete on who to take care of her more. 

Her step sisters hadn’t noticed anything since they were barely home.

As Aramina’s ride pulled in front of the school, everyone outside turned to stare. “Thanks Tom”, she waved to the driver as she stepped out.

The students gasped. Aramina wore her shades and walked into the school, 

that’s Aramina…she looks so hot…who is the guy that dropped her off…that’s the latest Lara shoe…I thought she was poor?

Aramina was pleased as she walked towards her locker. Her locker had the same surname as her stepsisters, so they were obviously there, waiting to teach her a lesson for her behavior in the morning but they got the shock of their lives. She could see Nina’s eyes popping and she smirked,

“where the hell did you steal this outfit from… and the phone, that’s a limited phone, only ten people in the world own it, hey thief, you’ve been stealing from us right?” Their high pitched voice was green with envy. 

‘I didn’t steal from you, it’s not like your house and everything in it sold together can afford this phone. A friend got me the cloth”.

“Liar, I will make sure mom hears this when she returns”.

Aramina ignored them, picked up her books and left for her classes.

“I heard a new teacher will replace Mr. Chris, he fell from his patio and broke his leg”

Aramina didn’t mind the talks, who cares about a new teacher, they always suck

“Yea, rumor had that the new teacher is sexy”.

“Oh, he is here”.

Aramina watched as the new teacher walked into the class, he was handsome. 

“Good morning beautiful students”, his eyes roamed till it rested on Aramina, his brown eyes seem to look down her soul, he suddenly smiled, “you can all me Mr. max, I will be your biology teacher for the next few weeks”.

 Aramina felt he was talking to her, he had a familiar scent, one she had perceived on Karen, Caleb and Zach, was he a werewolf too? And he was really handsome.

Her thought went back to another handsome man that have been on her mind lately, Zach didn’t push her to know about his world, he just sent her pictures and notes that talked about them, she had also grasped a lot from her interaction with Caleb and Karen. She still couldn’t imagine Karen as the strongest person in the pack after Zach, she looked so innocent … except when she is giving out orders to the subordinates over the phone. 

Zach…she suddenly wanted to see him, how can he just make himself scarce after dropping the bomb on her, Karen had explained that he had been busy, but Aramina wasn’t satisfied.

“Miss…miss”, she looked around and realized that the class was over and Max was in front of her. When her eyes focused on him, he smiled,

“I guess my class was really boring”

“I’m sorry Mr. Max”

“Call me Max, what’s your name?”

“I’m Aramina” she could feel her step sisters’ glare at the back of her head, 

I told you she is a pretender…she had already seduced him

“Walk me down to my office, Ara”. 

Aramina didn’t know what to make of this new attention, sure she was dressed prettily but she hadn’t meant to seduce anyone

“Come on, I don’t bite, we are same, I knew what you are the moment I entered, I just want to get to know you”.

“You are a werewolf too” Aramina whispered. 

“Yes” Max whispered back. They both laughed and walked down towards the hall.

Aramina tried to ignore the thousands of curious eyes watching them, Max didn’t seem to mind.

“News about Zach finding his mate have travelled over our world, you see, Zach is not exactly the type of person everyone wants to have an encounter with, he doesn’t have the best of personalities, but he is a good teacher. His pack members are really disciplined, although I feel it’s more from his strictness than his teaching.

 I understand that all this is new to you, believe me, to carry the burden of being the Luna of a pack is not something every young girl can handle and Zach isn’t your ordinary Alpha, there is more things to Zach and our world and I’m willing to give you all the help you need”.

“Thanks Max, I don’t really know what being a Luna entails but Karen promised to guide me through after I get used to being Zach’s mate”.

“You will know, soon, I really wish you don’t get involved with the messy world of Zach, but just remember that I’m always here”.

“I think your ride is here. Have a beautiful day Ara”

“Bye Max”

Max watched her go, she was a f**king piece, Zach didn’t deserve such innocence, not after the blood he spilled… not after killing his Ciara, his brown eyes got darker as he tried to suppress his anger.
