It had been four months since Adam left. Anastasia missed him like hell but their contact never ended. This made her so much peaceful that despite Adam being so far away, he was really close to her. There wasn't a day when Adam didn't call and she also would. They had schedules of when to call due to the time difference and it was going great. The semester was over and Anastasia spent most of her free time at Carla's. Carla had become like a mother to Anastasia. Anastasia couldn't recall when last her mother came to visit her. The last she heard from her mother's PA was that she was busy in Korea and then never spoke to her again. It was Thanksgiving and at this time, Adam was there to keep Anastasia company but this year she decided to stay at Carla's. She baked some cookies and a strawberry tart. She wasn't an expert when it came to roasting chicken so Carla decided to take care of it all.Meghan stopped by her apartment to accompany Anastasia. Anastasia didn't see her come in as s
Two years Later,The plane landed on the pad and a black rover with two more cars behind all drove close to the plane. The doors of the plane slowly opened to form out a trail of steps down. The flight attendants all rushed out to stand and line up at the end of the stairs with their eyes towering up towards the man dressed in an Armani suit as he made the appearance.Dark shades covered his eyes and he walked down slowly on the stairs as he bottoned his suit. His lips pursed together and many led him towards his car. He got into the backseat of the rover once the door was opened for him to get in.His drive started and left the airport with the other cars driving behind. The man looked outside his window to stare at the tall buildings and skyscrapers of New York. The perfect place to establish his main headquarters. The lavish billboards and advertising banners that glittered on the walls of buildings and tall structures. As expected New York was packed with lots of residents all walk
“I'll get the drinks,” Anastasia got to her refrigerator to get some canned drinks which she placed on a tray before she made her way towards the living area. A smile lit up on her face as she placed the tray on the center table.“Hey! I want a beer.” Meghan gave a disapproving look once she spotted the sodas in front of her. Anastasia rolled her eyes and her eyes went to Trevor who sat next to Meghan. “Happy birthday Trevor.” And, Trevor smiled at her.The doorl bell rang. “That must be the cake.” Anastasia got to her feet and rushed towards the door. The delivery man held the box which contained the cake and Anastasia payed with her credit card before receiving the cake and walking back into the living area.“You shouldn't have Anastasia. Inviting me for dinner on my birthday is more than enough.” Trevor was more than grateful. Never in his life had he celebrated his birthday among loved ones. He couldn't recall the last time he had a happy birthday. It must have been decades ago.“
Anastasia had submitted the form for her internship which was approved four days later. Right now she was in her room with her luggage all packed as Trevor walked into her room to check up on her. “I see you're done with your packing?” Anastasia smiled with a nod. She couldn't help but think of her new life in new York. The internship was only for a year but wondered if she would fall in love with the city over there.“I'll help you with the luggage. The Uber is already here.” Trevor took two of her suitcases and he feigned a groan. “Damn! What's in these bags?” And, Anastasia laughed. “It's New York. The city is busier by the second and hence lifestyle ain't cheap as well. So I have to be the best dressed for my position. I've trained for this because...” And Anastasia trailed off as the smile on her face slowly faded away.“Why are you hurting yourself Ana?” Trevor's words made her stare at him. “You are getting this job because of your capability and not for someone else.” Anastasi
Anastasia groaned so early in the morning. She rubbed her eyes and gave out a loud yawn before realizing she wasn't back at her apartment. The feeling was new and different but wasn't bad either. Infact she slept so well last night and couldn't help but try to recall the last time she had a proper night's rest. Maybe Trevor was right. A new city with new changes. Her nose immediately perceived the smell of morning pancakes. She got herself off the bed and stared at the clock. She had about two hours to get ready for her interview. She only hoped the company would accept her internship and she would begin right away. Anastasia got her legs to the floor and wore her slippers before she rushed into the bathroom to do her morning routine. After brushing her teeth and rinsing her drooling face, she sort of fixed her hair slightly because it was worse than a bird's nest. She stepped out of her room and a smile appeared on her face. The smell of home-made pancakes was still lingering down th
Anastasia's POVMy legs are dangling against each other and am currently feeling the heat friction between my legs rubbing together. My eyes are wide and I can't see myself balancing the cake am holding anymore. My eyes, my focus is on the person standing in front of me. The sound of the elevator dings as he steps out from the elevator in time before the doors slide shut.My lips are quivering and I want to speak. I want to say something but no words come out. I feel my heart squeeze tightly and I can't breathe. It's like my oxygen had gone to sleep after my eyes locked with his amber eyes. I couldn't be mistaken. I couldn't be dreaming at all. It was him.My Adam.“Miss?.... Hey careful!”I don't realize that the weight of the cake became much heavier as my hands loosened their strengths under the cake and it almost slides off my hands but Adam is quick to hold it for me just in time. Despite it all, my eyes can't stop looking away. Away from him.Adam keeps on staring at me like I've
The door to my hostel room opened slowly as it made a creaking noise. I watched Adam tiptoeing inside my room while straining his neck outside wondering if the coast was clear. I couldn't help but giggle softly seeing him all nervous and scared. I mean who wouldn't in his shoes. If anyone caught him entering the girls' hostel at this hour, that would mean total expelling from the boarding school and not when he was close to graduating.Adam gently closed the door behind me and leaned his back against it letting out a huge sigh of relief. I was sitted comfortably on my small bed with my legs crossed. My cheeks were flushed in knowing he did come afterall. He kept his promise of coming to meet me in my dorm room despite the fact that he could get into lots of trouble if caught. The thought of it made my heart skip a beat. I was only fifteen now but I felt I knew the entire meaning of love. And the feeling was only meant for that tall boy standing by the door still breathing a bit hard.
I was taking out my accounts textbook from my locker when Meghan called out to me from down the hall. I smiled and waved at her as I closed my locker and locked it. Meghan rushed up to me and was panting. I rolled my eyes at her laziness. I've told her so many times to hit the gym once in a while but she never listened to me. Only a short distance from the end of the hall to my locker and she was already out of breath. She was on the big side but she argues she's only plump and not fat. I completely disagree but it's her body and not mine. Needless to say but she's still my best friend here in my university.I was now in my first year in the university of California and I was taking a course on accounting. I wanted nothing than to study everything business related. I got this love and passion for it because of a certain someone with bright amber eyes. It had been two years since Adam left for England. Two years since I last saw him face to face. Two years since I last hugged him and f
