I counted the days when I would see Adam again. The thought of it made me smile unknowingly and I found myself drifted into my own little world. The lecturer Mr. Bentley walked into the classroom but what caught my attention and took me out of my own little world was the tall guy that accompanied Mr. Bentley. He was tall and had huge biceps and muscles. There was something about him judging by his outlook. He seemed kinda rugged and kind of a bully too.
Soon murmurs erupted amongst the ladies in the classroom. I was having history lecture right now and my friend Meghan wasn't with me. All the ladies seemed to be drooling all over for this guy. He had a charcoal black coloured hoodie on and ripped jeans with black heavy boots. A typical guy not to mess with at all and I made a mental note to stay far away from him.“Good day Students. Today we have a new transfer. He's from Europe and he will be studying with us. Our head of department asked me to introduce him to you all.” Mr. Bentley said and I drifted away. My mind was now focused on my notes and I continued to scribble down some points on my notes when I heard Mr. Bentley ask the new guy to introduce himself.Silence ensued afterwards and I was forced to take my eyes from my notebook and towards the new guy. His lips were of a fine thin line and his jaw was pointed. No doubt he was good looking and then our eyes met. I went still and my body unknowingly shuddered. His icy blue eyes stared directly at me for a few seconds before he threw his gaze away with a stoic face. One could easily tell right away that he must have been quite the troublemaker in his formal university for him to have been transferred.“Words Mr,” Mr. Bentley said and one of the boys in the classroom snorted loudly. “Hey dude? Cat got your tongue?” Ethan, a well known bully in only his first year asked as his gang of bullies all hooted along with him. The new guy simply strapped his backpack tightly on his shoulders and whistled before walking further into the classroom. Mr. Bentley rolled his eyes and told us his name. “He's name is Trevor Norman.”I watched him walk casually towards the classroom and thought he would pass me by but he didn't. He paused and turned his neck to stare at me. I blinked and then saw his blue eyes move towards the empty seat beside me. My lips parted slightly as the realization hit me. Don't tell me he wants to sit next to me. And I cursed myself for why I didn't put my backpack on the empty seat. But now it was too late and he immediately sat down on the empty chair closest to me. His scent filled me deep and it was pinewood and thick wooden fragrance. His focus was on Mr. Bentley while all I felt was nervousness building up within me. I tried to focus throughout the entire lecture but I couldn't. This new guy called Trevor was bothering me so much with just his presence. He on the other hand seemed entirely focused on the lecture and even penned down some notes. The bell rang and everyone soon stood to their feets and exited the classroom. I on the other hand couldn't move because of the new guy still sitted comfortably on his seat. I was close to the window so I needed him to move out of my way but he didn't seem to want to move at all.“Excuse me?” I called out to him and he raised his head from his notes to stare at me. “Can you move? I need to get out.” I added looking him in the eyes. He stared at me for a couple of minutes like I was nothing before he slowly stood up and man! He was damn tall. His shadow completely hovered around my small frame. “T-thank you.” I whispered and slowly walked past him. From up close, I caught the glimpse of his tattoo that peeked out from his chest but only saw a little and then I walked past him and suddenly I found my legs moving at a fast speed. I was out of the classroom in less than a minute and did do a few pants and I wondered what was wrong with me. My heart did beat out of fear. There was something about him? Something about that guy that screamed only bad news. His mannerisms, his style. And that tattoo peeking out from his chest. He looked no less than a dangerous gangster from one of those erotic novels that Meghan loves to read and fantasize about.I waited for Meghan at the end of the hallway and quickly sent a W******p message to Adam. He wasn't online and I imagined he would be asleep by now because of the time difference. I sighed heavily and looked at the time on my wrist. “Where are you?” I whispered to myself while thinking of Meghan when I left a kiss touch my left cheek from behind.I gasped in shock when I felt the wetness against my cheeks. “What the....” I paused when Liam came in front of me. “How dare you kiss me Liam?!” I growled with anger while the idiot only chuckled. “It was only a peck my dear Anastasia.” He said and I felt like slapping his face hard.“Back off Liam. How many times does Anastasia need to repeat herself. She's not interested at all.” Meghan came to us and fixed a stern look at Liam. “And I don't want to repeat myself either girls. I said that Anastasia is mine. I will make her fall for me and forget her dumb boyfriend abroad.” Liam said smirking and went off with his gang. My ears were red and fuming out smoke as I harshly rubbed my cheek with my hands to get rid of his lip mark. I felt very disgusted as I rubbed my cheeks clean.“Hey, take it easy Anastasia. You know how Liam is.” Meghan said but I was done playing all nice with Liam. I was so upset and to make matters worse, my phone rang and it was my mother's name flashing on my phone screen. “Gosh! Just what I needed!” I huffed and quickly declined her call. My mom and I hadn't been on talking terms since I started my first year. You can say our relationship only got from bad to worse. “Why did you decline your mom's call Anastasia?” Meghan asked. “I don't wanna talk about it Meg. Let's go now. I want to lie down. I have a splitting headache from only seeing Liam.” I quickly replied and pulled her along as we exited the university to call up for a cab to take us home.I only hoped I could talk with Adam again today as only he could calm me down. Only he could make my most bad day turn into a wonderful day in the end. At times like this with my issues regarding Liam and now my mother, I wished Adam was here physically with me. I wanted to hold him tightly. He was like the calm of the sea to take away all my troubles and worries. I sighed. I couldn't wait to see him when he would come to visit.Ana was taken to her office which was beside Jack's office. She didn't get to even admire her interior decors when a woman stepped into her office to inform her about accompanying Mr Miller out. Ana knew nothing about construction nor about architecture. She only knew about accounts and numbers. She only hoped she didn't let Jack down and be fired before she could find out anything about him. She wanted to know everything about him. She was more convinced he was Adam. Ana came outside and was directed to the CEO's car which was waiting for her. She quickly opened the door of the passenger seat and got seated before hearing Jack from the back seat. “You are late Ms Robinson.” “I am sorry sir.” Ana didn't know why he was making a big deal. She was barely even allowed to have a seat in her office when she was called out. She almost trippped on her little heels when rushing out the door. Ana couldn't help but look at him through the rear view mirror. His eyes were focused on the tablet
Ana didn't know what she was doing in front of the now familiar building again. Last time she was kicked out on her butt and even rubbed my dear a little before gulping. Nora had convinced her to head back to Miller Inc the next day and only told her she had the green light to have the interview again. Ana could only trust in the words of a person she barely knew but what had pulled her back to this building was knowing about Adam. Wanting to know why he chose not to know her was eating her up inside. With a heavy sigh Ana pushed the glass doors open and walked into the familiar space. The receptionist had a look and Ana already thought she would get thrown out again. She wasn't ready for that kind of humiliation. “Madam aren't you...” The woman behind the reception desk started but Ana was quick to cut her off with her confident talk. “I was given another chance at the interview. ”The woman obviously didn't buy it and got her eyes focused on ths computer screen in front of her. “
He walked towards his private room. He couldn't understand the banter and with that girl? His mood was already ruined but now it was more puzzled than annoying. He couldn't help but think of her. There was something in her eyes when she called him Adam.He got into his private room and sighed taking a seat on his couch. He hissed getting a headache and wondered when his headache thing would go away. His doctor always told him nothing was wrong but he felt like shit whenever his head would hurt so much.“Got a headache again?” His father walked into his room and he only wanted to throw the old man right out. “Why are you here in New York? You should be with mom. She needs you.” He said getting his eyes out the window. The view was spectacular from this extreme height.“Your mother is doing just fine. I came here to see your company. You really did grow it a lot of numbers. We are going to be in the business for a long time.” His father laughed also taking a seat on the next couch and
ANASTASIA I am walking aimlessly along the sidewalks. It takes me twenty full minutes to stand up and walk away from Miller Inc. I don't know what's going on but my heart is tugging hard inside my chest. His amber eyes stared right back at me, but not with love and care rather with a distant and an indifferent look. My eyes feel damn heavy and I feel my breathing getting intensely labored by the second. Had Adam really forgotten all about me. Did that explain why he disappeared from my life two whole years? I have so many questions and the part where he said he's Jack and not Adam doesn't make any damn sense. His last name is still the same but his first name had changed? He never mentioned Jack being a part of his name and I wonder what's the truth here. My footsteps are hollow against the granite footpath with the morning breeze flipping across every strand of my hair. I can't get him out of my head. I never had and now it would get worse if I don't speak with him again. I feel th
Anastasia's POVMy legs are dangling against each other and am currently feeling the heat friction between my legs rubbing together. My eyes are wide and I can't see myself balancing the cake am holding anymore. My eyes, my focus is on the person standing in front of me. The sound of the elevator dings as he steps out from the elevator in time before the doors slide shut.My lips are quivering and I want to speak. I want to say something but no words come out. I feel my heart squeeze tightly and I can't breathe. It's like my oxygen had gone to sleep after my eyes locked with his amber eyes. I couldn't be mistaken. I couldn't be dreaming at all. It was him.My Adam.“Miss?.... Hey careful!”I don't realize that the weight of the cake became much heavier as my hands loosened their strengths under the cake and it almost slides off my hands but Adam is quick to hold it for me just in time. Despite it all, my eyes can't stop looking away. Away from him.Adam keeps on staring at me like I've
Anastasia groaned so early in the morning. She rubbed her eyes and gave out a loud yawn before realizing she wasn't back at her apartment. The feeling was new and different but wasn't bad either. Infact she slept so well last night and couldn't help but try to recall the last time she had a proper night's rest. Maybe Trevor was right. A new city with new changes. Her nose immediately perceived the smell of morning pancakes. She got herself off the bed and stared at the clock. She had about two hours to get ready for her interview. She only hoped the company would accept her internship and she would begin right away. Anastasia got her legs to the floor and wore her slippers before she rushed into the bathroom to do her morning routine. After brushing her teeth and rinsing her drooling face, she sort of fixed her hair slightly because it was worse than a bird's nest. She stepped out of her room and a smile appeared on her face. The smell of home-made pancakes was still lingering down th
