GAB'S P. O. V

"Here."

He directed Toby and his friend.

"This is Alex. Alex this is Gabriella but everyone calls her Gab."

She never wished to give Toby a bad name ever, even amongst his friends so she willed her life to behave. She politely smiled, shaking her delicate hand. It was clear as day this omega is super high on suppressants. How do they stand the scent? Why is she taking such large dosages of suppressants? Does she not have her alpha?

There are cases she has witnessed where pimps would force their sex workers to drink the drug, to of course avoid pregnancies. She was not part of the crowd but her friend was. Eventually the scent blocker became something she avoided, that drug was a reminder of a life she was grateful she was saved from.

She did not want to say anything or ask in case she does have a reason to hide her nature. Everyone has to have a reason to do anything, right. Like my reason to visit Zoe as her sister, a sister that trusted an entire pack to do what I think I would fail at.

"Leo will be here in any... Leo over here."

No shit. The dammed odds have to be impossible. Act normal, she is. Why did stupid her heart light up, at best the beta is hot… Liar, his perfect.

Common... Her smart brain is beyond qualified to study to study literature and the arts. But at the moment the arts warned her that Leo is off limits and he has all that written all over him especially the evidence that was seen last time on his wrist. Act normal. Even he looks surprised to see her, at least she's memorable. Act normal, his looks has nothing to do with lunch and the beta does not know her poor life decisions.

"Leo, this over here is Gabriella but everyone calls her Gab and Gab this is Leo."

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Gabriella."

Fuck. Her ovaries exploded by the mere sound on his voice and damn her name sounds perfect coming out of those lips. Common, Gab act normal. Toby ordered himself pink milk but they gave her lime. Like her best friend Toby her favourite drink is also the pink milk but a lactose free version she initially ordered.

Perhaps they do not have lactose free milk that is why she has the lime drink? Okay, she can live with the lime, it sounds better than her stomach hating her for poisoning it by drinking something with definite repercussions.

To top off her disappointment she is yet to enjoy the bitter sweet taste of the drink given to her. What is worse was the combination of sweet and sour berries in the terrible drink. She opted to let it go because she knows how stressful it is working in a restaurant and she would hate being an inconvenience.

Leo got up took her drink and walked to their waiter, who the corrected her drink. The man was unbelievably polite but assertive. A minute later they handed her the corrected drink and he placed it next her food.

"Lactose free... I apologize, I must have gotten your order mixed with another customer... It is my first day, I will get it right next time."

"Uh.. Jer (she read the waiters name from his name tag)… It is truly fine it is not much of a big deal... Don't stress it, thank you and enjoy the rest of your day."

Jer left with a relieved expression, did he think she would involve the manager or his supervisor for a drink? Gab can relate to him though, at first she also feared irrational and problematic customers that constantly, want to involve the manager for either petty or small mistakes.

Truly annoyed by the direction her train of thoughts her mind lead she brought the sweet drink to her lips and took a sip of her pink drink and smiles. There's the taste of heaven, she couldn't help the smile that kissed her lips. Fuck. No one has ever done that for her. Ever. Heart stop. She can't be blushing. Speeding heartbeats. Act normal. He is another hero in her life story. Be normal.

"Thank you."

"You are too cute to frown."

She couldn't control the blush and comprehensive  words left her reasoning panel. This is a new low, how can she find a mated guy to be highly desirable. Perhaps her settings are defected and this is no way true, having feelings for a mated guy is morally wrong. Thankfully what distracted his train of thought was the man that took a seat next to Toby.

"What is going on here?"

"We also have no idea but it is kinda interesting though. I have never thought Leo can be that considerate."

Alex says.

"To. Is this the fated mate you were telling me about? You smell like him… he is right?"

Toby laughs before easing her curiosity.

"Yes... Gab has a sensitive nose, so it is easier for her to pick up different scents (Toby explains to his friends so they can understand her better)."

"O. M. G. You two look super cute together... May I take a picture of you? (Leo growls) Uncle and I were discussing who you you would end up with. He is so certain it is going to be big bro Noah of course I was on your side… I swear he will not believe that you finally bagged..."

His mouth was covered by a Toby who ran to shut her up. Was her obsession with the alpha wolf a secret? Toby nodded, seeming to catch the drift of her thoughts. Okay. She raised her hands in surrender, promising to not bring this topic up again. Toby went back to his seat shooting his man a cute innocent stare and he shook his head.

"Okay fine bro To. Wait I have one last question... You said big bro Noah has a fated mate too right.... Do you know who it is?"

She asked and the other two faced the omega with strong suppressants which could mean she is hiding her nature, yes. She was right. Too bad she knows how most homeopathic Chinese suppressants worked and smell like. No one mentioned it, so she saw it best fit to also keep her mouth shut about it too. Alex's face turned pink and she faced Toby confused but her brain continued piecing two and two together.

"Oh damn… I am so sorry… I was not really sure if it was you, I mean you do have traces if your fated mates scent but it was hard to decipher over.... Nevermind, you look really beautiful like Toby did in high school, cute... I mean Toby you still beautiful... I don't know if I should use the word 'beautiful' for you... I should probably keep quiet and finish my food..."

She stammered. Tried to rectify a mistake. The guy next to her, who has been watching him intently must think she's an idiot.

"Who is she?"

Lucas, his friend's fated mate asked, seemingly amused.

"Noah and I met Gab in high school we became good friends. Although we consider her to be more of our little sister. No we are not blood related but she is in our pack now and that makes us family... Literally Noah considers Gab to be his sister than he does his own. Her name is Gabriella but we call her Gab except now, Leo.

She's a genius. Applied to Moon to study English, focusing on literature and the Arts. She's super genuine and immediately says what she's thinking the moment she has a thought. It is funny and cute when she stammers like she just did. (Gab pouts, making sure not to waste by finishing her food) Sometimes she is random or hyper but that is just who she is."

"Are you all caught up?"    -Alex

"For now... Leo will fill me on the rest."

Lucas gave Leo a pointed glare and he nodded.

"Thanks again for lunch bro To… I have visual arts in about… Shia, twenty nine minutes. I have to start walking if I want to make it to my department in time. (He gave Toby a hug and she wanted to give Alex one too so she did)."

"You somewhat delightful, consider me to be one of your friends too."

Alex smiles when a voice broke through the moment.

"I will take you."

[All eyes face Leo they knew he is not one to cheat but now.... What the fuck is he doing? How is remotely interested in another especially after mating? Hell he has a mate now. Whatever was happening here he must not drag his sister by choice down with him.] -Toby

"I am going there already, Jay is still there."

"Okay. Thank you so much. I sense there is a tense aura here, meaning there is something that has to be said that does not need my ear... See bro To, I can read social situations... Yeah, I am right, right?.. Calm down bro you making me nervous, face what bothers you... Okay, allow me to excuse myself and go use the bathroom, so you can talk it out I assume with bro Leo."

JAYDEN'S P. O. V

He knows that Leo is getting antsy and now distant. There is no way they could be found on the same page lately. They reached a strain to their  and the only place they are on the same page is in the bedroom.

Jayden is still the head of the engineering faculty and it is true that he has been slacking off lately. Usually stupid 'mistakes' were met by ferocious consequence from previous head officials. Now that he is distracted his faculty was paying for it.

"Jayden. Your mood has been all of the place. Kim, got attacked by a Rouge art gang and all you did was stare at him dumbly. You are supposed to protect the underlings of the engineering faculty as the head moon. Hey. Brother they gaining confidence now, they just waiting for you to take your phone and say: 'cheese.'"

The only person with the balls to speak to him that way and throw a phone at him after mocking him is none other than Leam, his best friend. Leam brought up his failures to protect 'his people'. Up until his distraction no one dared mess with the engineers especially with Jayden with as the head. Damn his distraction will make others suffer. Jayden he had to know when to be an alpha and start busting heads.

"You right. Today we talk. If nothing changes we will solve the problems ourselves. People do not usually listen when you ask them nicely. Grab your things and get Noah in here."

"You late."

"I left my fated to hear what you have got to say. I would go with: I know you off the clock but I need a favour."

"I make the schedule. I am the head-"

Noah growled his wolf against Jayden's stupid ruling.

"You may be the head leader here amongst humans but I am the head alpha of our pack, your alpha."

The battle of silent rage dotted their staring contest when lasted a good five minutes, disturbed by Zac who entered his 'office'.

"Noah. Leam and I are heading to art department. I need you to watch over things here. Please."

Jayden missed having a bike but his replacement Ford Mustang that did not make him miss it as much. They used different cars going to get to the same place. Leam sped alongside him with his car and once they reached the faculty's parking lot.

They faced a group of man smoking outside, ditching class. Why would you sign up to further your education, if you not going to attend and get educated? Humans have serious problems. They looked like they wanted to collect years than their document qualifications. These were the boys that stole something from some kid he was insanely attracted to. These bozos tried to look dangerous as if they are cruising through some type midlife crisis. Jayden had to speak to Tul (a mountain lion shifter) to avoiding starting anything.

Leam waited outside with a speed dial to the engineering enforcers to stand back he can handle this, he and Noah entered the arts department. A scent his been waiting for popped up and just the scent made his wolf howl in victory.

"Jayden."

The head of the arts department called out ending his hunt to responsibility. His distraction has already cost his juniors enough.

"Tul. We have a couple of things to discuss regarding the Art department assaulting my faculty. I am fairly certain you do not want retaliation, right?"

"Good day to you too. Please. Common in."

GAB'S P. O. V

She sensed the alpha she ran away from after he saved her a couple of days ago or at least a week ago.

Besides she needed a roof over her head to mop, freely and be depressed. Hells shit. It felt like she is alone, like she did when she was being pushed around and called names years back. Years back when she was beat down in the orphanage, which resulted to hopelessness with a hint of why the fuck bother.

Her whole life, her entire being has been all about nurture than violence but still, it never stopped her heart from being empty. She hates that feeling, those dreadful memories of trying to survive. Thinking made her get lost in the stars and she failed to get anything done. Gab dread the fact she quit one of her jobs because they were planning an employee Valentine's Day party.

The restaurant job paid exceptionally well but not even her wolf was satisfied. He went on a couple of dates. Date one, she she felt physically sick to even fathom a date to anyone. Date two, she felt sick. Date three, he cried because she was on a useless date and still sick to be in the wrong scent presence. She does not know what is going on with her as of lately, it was as if she did not own her own body anymore. Ridiculous, right? Impossible.

Then the alpha who saved her from being on the streets again walks in her faculty's doors and she hides not making a sound. He could hear the anxious pumps of her heartbeat, it felt like her universe made sense perhaps he was her fated mate. Come find me. Take away the dark void and replace it with your hands, heart, and your love. Find me. Her wolf enticed not caring that there is a chance she might not be ready.

"Jayden."

Her saviour has a name. Jayden. She had to go back to class but the butterflies were at war urging her to go to the bathroom or hunt down her alpha to perform his duties.
