Nikolas's pov.

I stood at the balcony of my room.

From that position I could see the entire blueboard city.

The moon was rising as a knowing smile spread across my face.

This was bliss…

“Grrrringggg”

“Right on time” I said and picked up the landline.

“I feel... off.”

She was already showing signs of her transformation faster than I thought.

Even mine was not this fast with the full moon.

But I knew who she was.

I could not let her die that night.

The shadow always wanted to lay waste to everything but I knew better than that secret organisation of over powered beings.

I had to bite her, to turn her into a wolf.

I could not let the goddess of the night slip away as a result of one careless mercenary.

We've waited for long to have her and I was not willing to wait for another century to find her again.

“And a good evening to you too.” I replied.

“My heart is racing and my senses are on high alert.” she said as she continued, ignoring my greetings.

“ Every little sound makes me jump, and I can smell things I never noticed before. It's like my body is humming with energy, and I don't know what to do with it.”

This was unusual, but it would naturally take months for such a transformation to get to their level.

“I told you that this would happen earlier today.”

“Enough with the werewolf thing, you did something to me, I want you to come undo it,is this some sick prank or something?”

Either she knew what I did or she was just bluffing.

But she was right.

“You need to calm down.”

“Never tell a woman to call down” I retorted, “I feel anxious, restless, and... hungry?”

“I don't know what's happening to me and you're telling me to calm down?”

“Give me ten minutes, I'll be right over!”

I picked my coat and made for the intercom button so I could tell the driver to get ready when something caught my eye.

It is as the letter from the Shadow.

I knew what the contents were, the instructions were clear.

In a brief moment I found myself doing something I never thought that I would, compromise.

“It would be better if I drive this time around.” I said to myself as I grabbed my key.

“This is different…” my wolf nyktos said to me.

“Quiet!” I growled as I stepped on the gas.

“You do know driving fast would not get you away from me, I am you.”

I hated it when he was right, he was always silent, and when he spoke he less hit the right nerves.

“Shut it nyktos!” I said as I drove past the red light.

…….

“Took you long enough!” Was her welcoming sentence.

“At least you could invite me in.” I replied.

I could see her eyes peering deep inside mine, I was briefly reminded that I had no soul, at least whatever it was that I had left I sold it off to the shadow.

“Come in.” She reluctantly invited me in.

She refused to leave the doorways so I had to go in with our bodies brushing against each other.

Something that I did not expect to still be alive stirred within me.

Feelings that I could not describe.

I shook it off.

“A nice place you have in here.”

“Don't patronise me,” she fired, “tell me what's happening to me.”

“Haven't I told you all you need to know?” I asked her, “I did tell you that you were special back at the morgue…”

She cut me off before I could continue“No you did not.”

“Well I meant to.” I said, “and now you're transforming and you're transforming fast.”

“I can not be a wolf,” she cried, “this was not how I expected to start the week.”

“Since you know so much about this werewolf disease…”

“It's not a disease.” I interjected.

“Curse….”

“You say it like it is a bad thing.”

“Is it not a bad thing?this will probably ruin my entire life.”

“Find something that would stop this shit!” She said, “I did not sign up for this, I am a detective.”

She paused with a glint in her eyes, “does this have something to do with those cracked symbols in the bodies of the victims we've been investigating lately?”

I was mute, it took her long enough to get to this and I was glad to take the opportunity.

“It has everything to do with it, but since you want to give up this new life, I know somewhere where you can undo this new you” I said.

She hesitated, whatever way she decided to follow, I knew that I had her in my grasp.

“Fine, I need to see this person you speak about.” She said,

“Sure thing, whenever you're ready.”

“Now!I need to go now. The longer I remain like this, the more I feel like ripping out someone's head.”

“Well then,”I chuckled, “let's be in our way now shall we, you'll need to grab your coat, the next thing you'd feel would be cold.”

She shot me a deadly look, like she wanted to find the truth out of my eyes.

But that was a lie, I need time to conference with the Shadows.

I sent a text to them, they knew where to meet me.

“I am here.” She said and she held her thick fur coat in her hands.

“Ladies first…” I said as I opened the door.

“You do know that she is the moon goddess, the goddess of the night right?” Nyktos my insufferable wolf said.

“What does this have to do with the mission of the shadow? I need them to leave my town and my wolves alone, delivering her to them is my only way out.”

“Wasn't she your ex wife?” He asked again.

I could feel my eyes burn with rage. If my wolf nyktos was not a part of me I would have had his head separated from his body as soon as my ears caught those words.

“She's dead, the moon goddess is dead, this is just a reincarnation, she is not my wife.”

“But you forget we are one And separate at the same time, I know what you feel for her.”

“Enough nyktos!” I barked.

“Who are you talking to?” Cassandra asked from where she stood.

I flashed a fake smile, “no one, I just talk to myself sometimes.”

I walked to her and opened the door to my car, “shall we?”

Cassandra 's pov. I fluttered my eyes to find myself in a dimly lit room. I tried to get up from the seat where I was, only to discover that I was restrained to it. “The fuck!” I cursed, “what's happening here!” I yelled. “Detective….” A deep shrill voice responded from the shadows, “you of all people should know how to be careful with their choice of language.” I was livid. “Get me out of this fucking place, you're dealing with an officer if the law, wait till my partner comes to bust this place.” “Which of your partners?” the voice asked mockingly. “Show yourself if you're not that much of a coward.” I spat. “Well if you want to see the face of a coward that badly why don't I show you one.” A clap echoed through where I was restrained and slowly the lights came on from the end of the hall till it filled the entire hall. “Nikolas !” I gasped, “what did you do to him?” I yelled. Nikolas was tied to a chair just as I was. The only difference between the both of us was that

Nikolas 's POV “You've gotten your end of the bargain, now keep your own end of the deal!” “And how are we certain that this is not one of your failed guesses? What do you have as proof that you've delivered the goddess to us!” I took a deep breath, I was impatient, tej longer I stayed here the more I was prone to changing my mind on this mission. I knew that my feelings and Intuition alone was not enough to convince them so I had to settle for the next best thing. “I was not sure, your mercenary was careless.” “She could tell of your activities even though she was human…” “But you brought us a werewolf!” The representative of the Shadow interrupted. “I had to preserve her, The Shadow was inpatient and the Shadow sent a careless fool to do their dirty job even though I told them that I was on the case.” “Are you calling the shadow a fool!” The representative thundered. I went on one knee immediately, I knew that I had lost control of myself. Why was I willing to throw it a

Cassandra 's pov “Fuck fuck fuck!” I cursed as I rushed through the crowded bus stop and made my way to the station. I did not drive back home yesterday so I was forced to take the bus this morning and I hated every second of it. And on top of that I was late already. It was a miracle that my partner, Lewis, hasn't blown my phone to smithereens with calls. I got to the Precinct And without wasting time I rushed to the chief's office. I could already hear him conversing with someone inside and I assumed it to be Lewis. “hello miss greyhound” the chief greeted. I could feel my cheeks turn red as I was already late. “I am so sorry chief, yesterday was a really crazy day and I was….” “I think that is enough miss greyhound.” Another voice came into the office. It was the same man from yesterday, it only occurred to me that I did not get his name from our little encounter yesterday. “We're really behind schedule.” He said as he winked at me. I awkwardly sat down on the chair pr

Cassandra ’s pov“This is getting more ritualistic by the day.” I said aloud as I walked out the morgue. This was the third death in two days and there were reports about missing persons.“I doubt there is anything too serious about it, we have no motive yet, the deaths so far seem to happen at the bars.”I halted in my tracks as I looked up to Lewis,my partner who made that comment.“Sure, should we ignore the symbol carved into the victims?” I said.“What symbols?” He asked.“What do you mean what symbols, each of them had something carved into them right on their collarbone, if I knew better I would say it was a sigil.”“Well,” Lewis said as he shrugged his shoulders, “they might have been new recruits into gangs, I mean we have these cases almost everyday.”“It does not mean that it is something serious, it's one of those murders that happen when drunk people collide.” He said as he walked away to his car.“Sure…” I sighed, “write off my opinion and observations as extra”Being
