Chapter 42: Revealing

"You can't leave this late'

Asher smiled, he walked into the room, counting his steps carefully so as not to scare her. He asked if he could come closer, waiting for her permission. When their eyes met, he noticed the fear in her eyes had disappeared, giving him the signal he needed. Slowly, he moved closer to her and gently lifted her from the bed, causing shock to fill her eyes.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked, her brain filled with his masculine scent.

"We're going outside. I want to show you something," Asher replied.

"My mom is in the living room. I know another way," she pointed towards a backdoor that led outside.

As Asher opened the door, the cold air hit her, causing her to cling onto him. The night was beautiful, with a half moon illuminating the surroundings, creating an ethereal picture. Owls flew freely, unaffected by the constraints of mankind. It felt as though she was being inspired for her new novel.
