PRELUDE (PRESENT)

Life is good

His name is Leonidas - Leo - Maximilian, just 30 and married. Well, just a newlywed, he married the woman of his dreams. His friends said it was too soon, too fast but what do they know? He pushes the door open and called out, “I’m home!”, and his wife was already waiting for him inside with a cake she baked.

“Welcome home!” November James-Maximilian the most beautiful, perfect woman he laid eyes on. My wife.

He grins, he can’t help it. His November is so sweet, he walkes over her and kissed her on the lips. He fingered the icing to taste and smirks, “Strawberry.”

November snorted, “You do not look cute.”

Leonidas drops a kiss on her forehead and pressed, “Tastes heavenly.” Then he took the cake from her as she helps him take off his coat.

“How’s work today?”

“Great. Had to meet Wilkinson, he wants a case against one of his talents for breaching the contract. He’s blowing things out of proportion.” He deadpanned, “I’m not even that kind of lawyer.”

She chuckles, “If this matter goes to court does he have a chance?” She asked.

“No. He’s annoying. I don’t like him.” Leo whined as they walk towards the dining room, his coat was still on her hand, embracing it into her chest and letting him see what she prepared for out dinner. “My favorites!” Leo laughs as he stared at the table with all of his favorite food, he turnsto her and smiled teasingly, “Aren’t you going to check my coat pockets?”

She blinked and glanced down at his coat thoughtfully then a slow smile crept on her lips and did so. He watched her and let himself be mesmerized by his wife’s beauty. November is really beautiful, sometimes he find myself wondering how the hell was he able to make her fall in love with him.

She wore a simple dress with a hem that would flow once she twirl around or if the wind blew, it dropped a few inches above her knees showing off those amazing legs in those ridiculously cute doll shoes, her dark wavy hair was down into her shoulders.

She smells so good and felt so soft…

He watches her as she took the velvet box out of his coat. Leo starts to roll his sleeves up until they reach his elbows showing his tattoos. He knew it makes her feel hot every time. As he watch her slowly opening the box and he grins when her eyes widen a little. She took the necklace out. The pendant, he had it custom made, it was a moon imprinted with their initials together.

November laughs, pulling Leo close to her. She stood on her tip toes and giving him a sweet kiss on the lips. In reply Leo wrapped his arm around her waist instantly and kissed her back, nibbling her lips, tasting her. She moaned against his mouth and placed a hand against his chest as she pulls back.

“Thank you.” She stares at him with glowing love on her eyes and he can’t help but feel a little deeper in love.

He pulls her into me, nuzzling her cheeks, “Let’s go to bed.”

She laughs. “Let’s eat dinner first.”

“I’ll have you for dinner instead.”

She rolls her eyes as she pressed her cheeks against into his chest and he hear the muffle words he likes hearing the most from her, aside from her I love you’s. November's, “I miss you every day.”

“Me too.” He replies, kissing the top of her forehead then whispered his heart out, “I miss you a little too much. I miss you a little too often, a little more every day, Love.”

She stepped back, she had a hand resting against her hips with his coat dangling while the other pulled a chair.

“I’m spoiling you.” She stated with a smile. Leo tries his best to look innocent, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

She shakes her head, apparently tired of his cheesiness for the day, “Let’s eat first!” she stated again making him roll his eyes playfully but then his grin didn't disappear. He was about to tease her more when suddenly the dogs around the neighborhood started barking and howling, loud. Then strong wind blew, clattering the trees and the glass doors, the trees and grass rustled in our garden, the glass walls clanged taking both our attention towards it.

Leo narrowed his eyes as he took a step and another forward, shadows in the dark were lurking and then the shadows turned into figures walking towards their garden. There must have been four of them, four men.

“Leonidas?”

“Stay here.” He told her as he made his way towards the glass doors and have a talk with these strange men, who are they?

“Leo…” November whispers, He took the look on her face as worry and uneasiness.

Then it happened fast, they were so fast. Leo's eyes widen in sudden shock when the men started sprinting towards our house.

“What the fu-!!“

He wasn’t able to finish what he was about to say for the next thing Leo knew his whole body fucking hurts specifically his back.

He realized three things immediately.

First, he was down in the floor after he hits the wall, almost destroying the shit out of the hard pavement that it left a number of cracks from the hard impact. Two, Leo just realized that he was hauled by such powerful force he flew across from the dining room to the living room and three… his wife, November was the one who pushed him with such brutal force.

Leo stared in utter horror as she met his eyes apologetically and worriedly, “I’m sorry baby!”

The pain was unbearable and his vision was hazy but the last thing he was aware of was that the glass doors busted; shattered and huge pieces of it flew everywhere, his wife November spares him one last glance and right before his very eyes she changed.

She freaking transformed just like those men now inside our house.

What the hell?!

                        _____________________________________________

He opens his eyes and blinked against the light. Leo instinctively covered his eyes with his arm. He grunts in pain, still a little hazy. Suddenly someone took his other hand, wrapping it with two hands warmly.

“Leo?”

Oh God.

He remembers everything.

He shut his eyes harder, remembering everything that happened and why his whole body was aching. His tiny and sweet loving wife just hauled his ass across the room like he weighs nothing. He took his hand away from his eyes, he didn’t bother pulling his other hand away from hers though. Leo just lay there, sore and freaking confused. He's not even freaking scared, at least not yet because at the moment he was completely at loss here.

What the fuck?

Leonidas slowly turned to her and hissed thickly, “I remember everything.”

She winced, looking guilty, good.

He tried to control his voice but he sounded angry nonetheless for some reason, for goddamn obvious reason. Probably the fucking betrayal and concussions his wife had given him, she almost fuckin killed him!

“What the hell was that?! What the fuck is going on?! What are you?!”

“A-are you thirsty?” She asks in a small voice.

“NOVEMBER JAMES MAXIMILIAN!”

His glare made her jump so he squeezed her hand tightly, she didn’t even wince. “What are you? I saw you freaking transformed like those men, Novemer. What the heck are they?! What are you? Who the hell are those men? WHERE THE HELL ARE WE?!”

She swallowed and guiltily met his eyes with uncertainty. For a moment they just stared at each other as my grip on her hand is tightening. Leo's eyes are hard and unflinching just like what he's currently feeling. November must have realized that since she’s the one who broke the quiet spell between them.

She whispered. “I’m a moonchild.”

“Moonchild?"

Moon child?

What the heck is that?!

"What the hell is that?” Leo demanded

She tried to let go of his hand but his other hand had trap hers. Leo didn’t let go and he stared into her. “TELL ME!”

November sniffed guiltily, “I’m a shifter…a wolf shifter Leonidas...”

Life is good.

Or so he thought.
