Henry Dominic walked out from the mansion and made his way to the backyard section. Although he had sent the two maids to bathe Camila outside, he was fully aware of what he had asked them to do, and he wanted to see her.
Camila had finished bathing and had dropped her clothes on the floor, but she was shivering cold. She stared at the two young ladies of her size while one of them handed her a white towel to wrap around her body.
Camila took the white towel and fumbled to find the edge before wrapping it around herself. Just then, she heard multiple footsteps behind her and swiftly turned to see the eyes of the man who had brought her to the mansion glowing yellow in the dim light.
Immediately, she wrapped the towel around her chest and noticed that he did not avert his gaze from her body, continuing to stare at her as she shivered.
"Henry, is she the new foreigner?" Camila heard the woman approaching her ask.
Henry heard his mother’s question and hadn’t expected her to follow him outside, especially since Camila had a nice shape that he found appealing. He struggled to reply, "Yes, Mother..."
"Guards!" Luna Ruth immediately called out. She couldn't believe her eyes; the beautiful young lady before her, looking like an angel, was the girl her son had brought.
Luna Ruth observed Camila’s yellow skin and realized that the young lady could cause problems for their pack, especially regarding her son ruling the Western Wood Pack. If the chiefs of the Western Wood Pack found out that Henry had fallen in love with a stranger from the Eastern Wood Packs, it would lead to trouble.
"Luna Ruth, you sent for us?" two guards appeared from behind, interrupting Luna Ruth's thoughts as she snapped out of her trance, not caring that Camila was wearing only a white towel.
Luna Ruth immediately ordered, "Take this lady out of here and ensure that she doesn’t leave the refugee house. I will see her personally later. No one is to be granted access to her until I or the Alpha decides otherwise tomorrow."
"Okay, Luna," the two guards replied and walked up to Camila, bundling her by the arms and taking her away.
Henry tried to protest. "Mother, let me take her to the refugee house myself. I don’t trust those guards with her."
Henry wanted to walk after them and call the guards back, but his mother replied firmly, "No, son. She’s a foreigner and shouldn’t be seen with you, nor should you care about what happens to her. She cannot be trusted and may be a spy or an enemy. Come, let us go inside for dinner; it’s getting late, and Juliet insisted we wait until your return."
"Hmm." Henry sighed as he continued watching the guards drag Camila away.
He didn’t know her name yet, but he couldn't help admiring her beauty and her figure.

Camila was taken outside the Alpha's mansion and brought to a large open house without any clothes on. She was only wearing the white towel around her chest and felt frightened as the two men dragged her into the big house.
Inside, she could see other people in the large hall, who looked at her in surprise as the two guards brought her inside.
It was very late, but the big house had power and lights.
Camila noticed that the people standing in the hall appeared poor and malnourished in their ragged clothes, and she feared for her safety since she was the daughter of the Eastern Wood Pack Alpha.
The whole pack didn’t look at all like what Camila had been told, and the two guards in army uniforms walked to meet them. The two guards from the Alpha’s mansion stopped dragging Camila once they reached the new guards.
They let go of Camila and handed her over to the two new guards who were monitoring all the foreigners in the house.
One of the guards from the Alpha's mansion spoke. "Luna Ruth stated that this lady shouldn't be touched or granted access by anyone until she sees her tomorrow."
"Okay. Come with us," one of the new guards replied, his yellow eyes glowing at Camila. He knew better than to disobey their Luna's orders, finding the young lady before him undeniably alluring.
The new guard repeated to Camila, "Follow me, woman."
Camila stood up from the ground, clutching tightly to her chest and holding the towel around herself as she continued to shiver.
Still drenched from the rain and anxious from following the guards, he took her to another section of the big house, which housed more than 300 foreigners.
The foreigners were there to clean up the pack house, tidy the entire area, and only those who passed the Alpha's test were allowed to move freely among their people.
The defaulters—those accused of something dangerous and who had run away from their old packs due to theft or other evil deeds—were kept under close monitoring.
The guard took Camila to a room that mostly housed women, unlocked the door, and ordered Camila, "Go inside."
Camila didn’t protest and walked into the room, relieved that the Luna had warned the guards not to touch her, and she meant no harm.
As Camila entered the room, she saw two ladies already inside, both dressed in blue slave gowns. They stared at her, and she could tell they were older than her.
Their eyes widened in shock upon seeing the Eastern Wood Pack symbol on Camila's forehead. They knew immediately that she was from the Eastern Wood Pack, indicating she was a defaulter. The room's light bulb illuminated her face.
Camila felt the intense gaze of the two women, who were standing beside the bed as she greeted them, "Good evening..."
"Hmm..." One of the young women growled, while the second remained quiet.
The guard walked into the room and cautioned the two ladies, "You shouldn't dare to touch her or do anything foolish. She will be staying here with you both."
Camila looked around the slightly bright room and saw only two bunk beds. The two ladies seemed unfriendly toward her.
"What are you staring at? You can't use the bed, so stay away from it!" one of the girls warned.
They were about Camila’s age, and they didn’t like the fact that Camila came from the Eastern Wood Pack, reminding them of their past sins. They also had the Eastern Wood Pack sun symbol tattooed on their foreheads.
Camila remained wrapped in the towel that she had collected from one of the maids in the Alpha's mansion. She quietly walked to a corner of the room to stand.
Soon, one of the guards returned and threw a blue gown at Camila.
"Wear this!" the guard spat, his yellow eyes burning with intensity as he left.
Camila was afraid of what her fate would be the following day. She hadn’t expected the situation in the Western Wood Pack to be so reversed from what she had anticipated.
She hoped the Alpha and his family would allow her to stay, as she wasn't ready to wander off to another pack. It was not safe out there, and she really missed her mother.
Taking off the white towel, Camila put on the blue gown that was handed to her. The gown was a bit oversized, but she managed to make it work.
Camila was tired, hungry, and feeling isolated without anyone to talk to.
Eventually, she saw the two ladies lay down on the bed to sleep. She spread the white towel on the floor in the small room and laid down on it to sleep, shivering from the cold weather until she eventually fell asleep.
"What's with the distant look on your face?" Victoria finally asked Juliet as she approached them at the dining table."Nothing. It seems that you have gone to see our brother," Juliet managed to respond as Madeline didn't show any response to Victoria's inquiries."Yes, I went to see Alpha Henry and guess what, he gave me his debit card," Victoria giggled as she showed Henry's card to Juliet and Madeline, who both looked sad."Congratulations to you," Juliet managed to respond, and Madeline didn't say a word as she continued eating.Henry stepped out from the corridor that led to his home office. He saw how happily Victoria was showing off his debit card to his two sisters. With a shake of his head, Henry looked away from them as they heard the sound of his footsteps approaching. He was not interested in joining them for dinner, but he also did not plan to starve himself for the night. He decided to join his two sisters for dinner and took his seat on the second chair across from his
After Camila had finished all of her work and routine in the Alpha's mansion, she was given only a piece of bread to eat. She didn't complain as she sat outside, staring at the clouds. The rain had stopped and the weather was chilly. Her gown was lighter, making her shiver as she stayed outside in the cold. The head maid didn't bother to call Camila into the maid's mansion since the maids were free to roam about at night as long as they had finished their work. They were not imprisoned or under supervision like Camila and the other foreigners. Camila sat alone, feeling her stomach grumbling. She had no friends and thought about the lady she met during her confrontation in the grand hall, Susan Parker. Camila wondered how Susan was faring and decided to sink into her ocean of thoughts. One of the maids, Ella, decided to take a stroll and was surprised to see Camila sitting alone in the cold. Camila hadn't been given a sweater to keep her warm in the cold weather. Ella wondered how
Victoria's frown was the heaviest on her face as she stared angrily at Camila, while Madelyn went back into the sitting room on the second floor, leaving both Victoria and Juliet on the balcony. Victoria had a strong feeling that Alpha Henry was attracted to Camila, but she couldn't do anything to send Camila away. She wasn't the Luna yet, nor Henry's mate to control him on what to do and what not to do. She knew that the fair-complexioned lady she was seeing could be a problem for her, but she believed that now that the former Luna and Ex-Alpha were no longer around, Henry would have no other option but to choose her as his mate. Juliet murmured, "I hate that white wench! Why is brother caring about her more than us? Alpha Henry!" Juliet rushed upstairs to the third floor to see her elder brother, irritated with how Henry was caring for Camila, despite Camila being their enemy's daughter. Juliet stormed into the sitting room and immediately asked her elder brother, "Brother!! How
"What was making you smile like an idiot?" Henry asked Camila as he walked into the private ward that was given to her. Moving away from the entrance door where he stood before and glaring at her. "Nothing... I..." Camila couldn't respond, and she stared downward just as Henry approached her bed. She could sense his anger, but she wondered why his pack had thoughts of claiming her father's pack. Her father wasn't just known to be ruthless; he couldn't be easily defeated either. "Mm... You are aware that the pack's mating ceremony is starting next week. As a slave here, you aren't supposed to be on the bed recuperating but making arrangements for it and tidying up the packs," Henry said, and Camila's head was still bent low. She didn't know if she could speak when Henry was talking to her, as she was a foreigner and also below his level. Henry's red eyes calmed as he knew it wasn't Camila's fault. He heard the sound of the clinic door, which led into Camila's room, pushed open, an
The following day in the Western Wood Packs, Henry held a meeting with all the chiefs. They discussed the burial rites for his late father and the pack's month-long memorial period. All activities, including those leading up to the mating ceremony next week, would be suspended in honor of the fallen Alpha and the armies that had accompanied him to war against the Eastern Wood Packs.Henry stood silently in the hall, refusing to take his father's seat on the throne. He couldn't bring himself to accept it yet, hoping his father and the armies would soon return."Alpha Henry," the oldest elder and chief spoke, "what do you say about the pack observing a month-long memorial in respect to our late king? All activities leading up to the mating ceremony next week will have to stop. Afterward, we can set a date for all unmated males and females over 18 to mark themselves and present themselves before the Moon Goddess.""We cannot shift the Full Wolf Moon Festival," Henry replied. "It occurs on
Camila was still in shock after Henry left her room. She stared at the paper containing the roasted pork meats he had given her. She was hungry, and her wolf was weak, so she resumed eating the meat. It tasted delicious.Since her abduction and enslavement in the Alpha's mansion, she hadn't been given anything good to eat, let alone "meat." She had mostly been given bread and water, lacking proper nutrients. She devoured the delicious meat, and once her stomach was full, she went to her private bathroom to wash her hands. After that, she retired to her bed to sleep. +++Henry left Camila's room with a calm heart, though troubled by the lack of news about his father and the war. He had received no feedback. He was worried but had to wait for their informant to return. The results would be available the following day. He would know if his father and the accompanying armies had returned safely, or if they had lost their lives in battle.Henry made his way back into the mansion, not wa
