CHAPTER 1

Alpha Jackson White was boiling with rage. He had just found out his 18-year-old daughter, Camila White, was pregnant.

"Who got you pregnant?" Alpha Jackson roared at Camila. They stood inside the living room downstairs in his duplex mansion.

"Alpha, please take it easy on Camila. She's only a young girl," Camila's mother, Theresa White, pleaded with her husband. As Luna of their pack, the Eastern Wood Pack, she tried to calm him.

"Don't tell me to calm down. First, I was against Camila going to the club to celebrate her birthday, but you said she's already an adult. Now look at what being an adult has turned her into. At this point in her life, when she's supposed to head to university, she chooses to bring shame and disgrace to our family and pack," Alpha Jackson said. Bitterness filled him as he discovered Camila was already three months pregnant—and she didn't even know who got her pregnant.

Camila knelt in her father's living room, crying. "Please, Father, forgive me."

"Shut up. And I will ask you one last time. Who did you shamefully sleep with?" Alpha Jackson questioned. Camila was his only daughter and only child.

It hurt Alpha Jackson deeply. He had wanted Camila to marry Lonald's son in the future to help him rule the pack. Now her foolishness and naivety had ruined everything.

"I don't know, Father," Camila cried as she knelt and begged him.

The last thing Camila remembered was being at the clubhouse with her friends, celebrating her birthday. There, she met her mate, Andre Mason, and fell in love with him. But she couldn't remember what happened after drinking from the wine bottle her best friend Anita gave her.

"Answer me before I throw you out this minute! Who got you pregnant?" Alpha Jackson demanded. Then he pulled off his trouser belt.

"I've been too lenient with you, and it seems you think I cannot discipline you." Alpha Jackson rushed at Camila and started flogging her with his black belt.

"Alpha! Take it easy on Camila! You will kill her! Camila is our only daughter. Somebody help!" Luna Theresa screamed. She rushed to separate her husband from flogging Camila.

With the way Alpha Jackson's mansion was built, none of the people living nearby could enter his gate—even late at night. They could only hear the sound of the whip, along with Camila's serious crying and wailing.

Alpha Jackson flogged Camila until her beautiful yellow skin peeled and her white nightgown tore.

"Guards!" Alpha Jackson called to his stationed guards after he finished. Camila breathed heavily and cried.

"Throw Camila out of this pack. I don't want to see her anywhere around our pack again. Camila ceases to be my daughter from today onward," Alpha Jackson spoke to the two guards who rushed in.

"Okay, Alpha," the two guards replied. They immediately bundled Camila away.

"No, Alpha! You cannot do this to Camila. Bring back my daughter!" Luna Theresa cried. She called out to the guards, but none dared go against Alpha Jackson's orders.

Luna Theresa ran after the two guards who had bundled Camila out. They carried her by her arms and took her away.

"No! Bring back my daughter! My precious jewel!" Luna Theresa screamed after them. Her cries attracted pack members, who came out of their houses, wondering what had the Luna of their pack so upset.

"Camila! No!" Luna Theresa wore a lime-colored nightgown. She ran after the guards, caught up, and tried to pull Camila from their hold.

Camila was already too tired to protest. Her wolf, Ivy, was too weak to shapeshift and fight the guards or go back to plead with her father.

Camila knew her father was ruthless, but she had never gotten on his wrong side. She had always done what he wanted: be a good girl with a strong leadership spirit so other young werewolves in the pack would learn from her and look up to her as the next Alpha—despite being female.

But she had failed him. For the first time in her 18 years of life, her father raised his belt and disciplined her.

Camila felt sore as she watched her mother try to pull her away from the two guards dragging her out of the pack.

"Luna, we cannot go against Alpha Jackson's orders. Camila has been banished. Please try to understand," the guards begged. They knew how ruthless Alpha Jackson was with offenders.

"You cannot take my daughter away. I haven't banished Camila yet, and she's still a member of our Eastern Wood Pack. Let go of Camila at once," Luna Theresa commanded. But the guards knew whose orders to follow.

"We cannot, Luna. We're sorry." They refused to let go and dragged Camila away from her mother. They ran with her while Luna Theresa chased after them.

Luna Theresa grew exhausted from chasing the fast-running guards. They had already exited the Eastern Wood Pack.

"No! My Camila!" Luna Theresa fell to her knees and cried as her vision blurred with heavy tears.

The guards finally reached the pack's exit gate. They threw Camila out and locked the heavy gate behind her.

"Go away and never return to this pack. You know what your father will do to you," one guard warned Camila. They knew she could hear them, even in her weakness—she was still breathing and awake.

They turned and left, walking back into the Eastern Wood Pack. The entrance guards shut the gate closed on her.

Camila was too weak to stand. She knelt in front of her pack's entrance gate. Her body hurt and stung from the pain.

She didn't know how she became pregnant. She only remembered meeting her mate for the first time and getting drunk after.

Tears streamed down her face. Soon, heavy rain began to fall with strong winds.

Rain drenched her already light white nightgown. Camila knew she had no choice but to stand and search for shelter—but from where?

She also knew no other packs would accept her. She bore the Eastern Wood Pack tattoo on her right arm and the rising sun symbol on her forehead, marking her as from the Eastern Wood Pack territory. Many packs hated her father because he tolerated no cheating or sin.

Alpha Jackson was known for the discipline, genuineness, and uprightness of his pack. Now she had failed to show that true leadership spirit.

Camila dragged herself forward as the heavy rain soaked her. She headed toward the path leading to the Western Wood Pack.

Camila knew the Western Pack was full of liars, deceivers, fraudsters, and cheaters—just as her father had always told her. But they welcomed foreigners freely and let them live in their pack.

Camila made her way to the Western Wood Pack's distant border and entrance gate. She hoped that by the time she arrived, they would accept her—despite knowing she was the Alpha's daughter.

"What's with the distant look on your face?" Victoria finally asked Juliet as she approached them at the dining table."Nothing. It seems that you have gone to see our brother," Juliet managed to respond as Madeline didn't show any response to Victoria's inquiries."Yes, I went to see Alpha Henry and guess what, he gave me his debit card," Victoria giggled as she showed Henry's card to Juliet and Madeline, who both looked sad."Congratulations to you," Juliet managed to respond, and Madeline didn't say a word as she continued eating.Henry stepped out from the corridor that led to his home office. He saw how happily Victoria was showing off his debit card to his two sisters. With a shake of his head, Henry looked away from them as they heard the sound of his footsteps approaching. He was not interested in joining them for dinner, but he also did not plan to starve himself for the night. He decided to join his two sisters for dinner and took his seat on the second chair across from his

After Camila had finished all of her work and routine in the Alpha's mansion, she was given only a piece of bread to eat. She didn't complain as she sat outside, staring at the clouds. The rain had stopped and the weather was chilly. Her gown was lighter, making her shiver as she stayed outside in the cold. The head maid didn't bother to call Camila into the maid's mansion since the maids were free to roam about at night as long as they had finished their work. They were not imprisoned or under supervision like Camila and the other foreigners. Camila sat alone, feeling her stomach grumbling. She had no friends and thought about the lady she met during her confrontation in the grand hall, Susan Parker. Camila wondered how Susan was faring and decided to sink into her ocean of thoughts. One of the maids, Ella, decided to take a stroll and was surprised to see Camila sitting alone in the cold. Camila hadn't been given a sweater to keep her warm in the cold weather. Ella wondered how

Victoria's frown was the heaviest on her face as she stared angrily at Camila, while Madelyn went back into the sitting room on the second floor, leaving both Victoria and Juliet on the balcony. Victoria had a strong feeling that Alpha Henry was attracted to Camila, but she couldn't do anything to send Camila away. She wasn't the Luna yet, nor Henry's mate to control him on what to do and what not to do. She knew that the fair-complexioned lady she was seeing could be a problem for her, but she believed that now that the former Luna and Ex-Alpha were no longer around, Henry would have no other option but to choose her as his mate. Juliet murmured, "I hate that white wench! Why is brother caring about her more than us? Alpha Henry!" Juliet rushed upstairs to the third floor to see her elder brother, irritated with how Henry was caring for Camila, despite Camila being their enemy's daughter. Juliet stormed into the sitting room and immediately asked her elder brother, "Brother!! How

"What was making you smile like an idiot?" Henry asked Camila as he walked into the private ward that was given to her. Moving away from the entrance door where he stood before and glaring at her. "Nothing... I..." Camila couldn't respond, and she stared downward just as Henry approached her bed. She could sense his anger, but she wondered why his pack had thoughts of claiming her father's pack. Her father wasn't just known to be ruthless; he couldn't be easily defeated either. "Mm... You are aware that the pack's mating ceremony is starting next week. As a slave here, you aren't supposed to be on the bed recuperating but making arrangements for it and tidying up the packs," Henry said, and Camila's head was still bent low. She didn't know if she could speak when Henry was talking to her, as she was a foreigner and also below his level. Henry's red eyes calmed as he knew it wasn't Camila's fault. He heard the sound of the clinic door, which led into Camila's room, pushed open, an

The following day in the Western Wood Packs, Henry held a meeting with all the chiefs. They discussed the burial rites for his late father and the pack's month-long memorial period. All activities, including those leading up to the mating ceremony next week, would be suspended in honor of the fallen Alpha and the armies that had accompanied him to war against the Eastern Wood Packs.Henry stood silently in the hall, refusing to take his father's seat on the throne. He couldn't bring himself to accept it yet, hoping his father and the armies would soon return."Alpha Henry," the oldest elder and chief spoke, "what do you say about the pack observing a month-long memorial in respect to our late king? All activities leading up to the mating ceremony next week will have to stop. Afterward, we can set a date for all unmated males and females over 18 to mark themselves and present themselves before the Moon Goddess.""We cannot shift the Full Wolf Moon Festival," Henry replied. Camila was still in shock after Henry left her room. She stared at the paper containing the roasted pork meats he had given her. She was hungry, and her wolf was weak, so she resumed eating the meat. It tasted delicious.Since her abduction and enslavement in the Alpha's mansion, she hadn't been given anything good to eat, let alone "meat." She had mostly been given bread and water, lacking proper nutrients. She devoured the delicious meat, and once her stomach was full, she went to her private bathroom to wash her hands. After that, she retired to her bed to sleep. +++Henry left Camila's room with a calm heart, though troubled by the lack of news about his father and the war. He had received no feedback. He was worried but had to wait for their informant to return. The results would be available the following day. He would know if his father and the accompanying armies had returned safely, or if they had lost their lives in battle.Henry made his way back into the mansion, not wa
