Chapter 5

Henry wasn't pleased that his mother had sent the young lady he brought away with the two guards, knowing she was slightly nàked and wasn't wearing any pants underneath the white towel.

His wolf growled, but he silently went back into the mansion, hoping Camila was safe in the refugee house.

Alpha Collins was silent as he watched his only son walk into the Grand Hall and head towards the dining hall to join them for dinner.

Juliet and Madelyn weren't pleased with what they saw either. They approached the dining table with their mother, and the whole family settled on their seats to eat.

"Henry, you don't seem happy. What's the problem?" Alpha Collins asked, observing his son's behavior.

"Nothing, Father. I'm fine," Henry casually replied, and his father didn't press the topic.

Luna Ruth frowned as she settled beside her husband. Alpha Collins stared at her and asked, "What troubles you, my mate?"

Luna Ruth stared at her son and then at her husband, replying, "I'm not pleased that Henry brought that foreigner here."

"It's okay, my Luna. Let's not worry about the stranger, as we don't know her mission here. Whatever it is, we'll find out tomorrow," Alpha Collins assured, and the dining hall fell silent.

"Shall we start eating now?" Alpha Collins asked, and Luna Ruth replied, "Yes, maids..."

Luna Ruth signaled the maids to come closer and dish out their meals. They started eating silently around the dinner table.

After dinner with his family ended, Henry stood up from his chair first and said, "Good night," to his family members who were still eating. He went back to his chambers on the third floor of the magnificent mansion but couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful the young lady he had brought into his father's mansion looked.

He walked to his bathroom to shower. When he was done, he stepped out, wore his white robe, and retired to bed.

The following day in Alpha Collins' Mansion, after the morning routine was over, Alpha Collins and some of the elders were in the Grand Hall. He informed them about the new foreigners who had come into their pack to become a part of them.

"Guards, go and bring the new foreigners here for their interviews, to know what brings them into our pack," Alpha Collins said, sitting on the royal head seat, signifying his rule.

The guards left for the refugee house. Five other new captives besides Camila White were brought into the Grand Hall to meet Alpha Collins.

Alpha Collins was still the ruling Alpha of the Western Wood Pack. Although he had ordained Henry as the new Alpha, Henry couldn't rule without a mate or Luna to help him govern the pack. Therefore, Alpha Collins was still ruling the Western Wood Pack until his son chose or found his chosen mate.

"They're here, Alpha," the head guard informed, arriving outside the Alpha's mansion with the six new foreigners.

"Let them inside," Alpha Collins responded, and the head guard ushered the six people into the Grand Hall.

There were two males and four females, including Camila. They walked to the front of the Alpha's throne seat, where Alpha Collins and his wife sat, and stopped as the head guard instructed.

"I hope you all know that you're foreigners in our pack, and foreigners aren't allowed to roam around freely with us," Alpha Collins stated, gazing at the six new captives standing before him.

Henry Dominic was upstairs on the second-floor balcony, staring down at Camila and the rest of the five captives standing in the center of the hall. He admired her in her long, oversized blue gown that swept the floor.

Camila was nervous, remembering how her father usually judged the defaulters in the Eastern Pack. Now she was a defaulter, and she couldn't imagine the level of nervousness she was feeling.

She felt someone intently gazing at her. Looking up, she met the gaze of the man who had brought her the previous night and saved her from the pack's security guard.

Camila didn't know when her cheeks blushed red, unknowingly meeting Henry Dominic's gaze.

Luna Ruth was seated beside her husband on the throne seat. As the ruling Luna of the Western Pack, she was seen as a queen. Her gaze burned brightly on Camila, seeing her blushing while her husband was speaking to the new foreigners.

Luna Ruth's angry gaze burned on Camila again. Feeling Luna Ruth subtly glare at her, Camila gulped and listened attentively to the Alpha King speaking.

"As I stated, it's a rule in our pack to freely welcome foreigners, as every life matters. But while welcoming foreigners into our pack, it's also essential to ensure the safety of our pack members. Therefore, we created the refugee house where all new captives are kept and used as servants in our pack house. To enable the new captives freedom and allow you to live freely in our pack, you must earn the privilege and show your honesty by serving our pack members and in the pack house. You must not show superiority above a Western Pack member, or you will be punished.

Starting with the confrontation, we'd like to know what brings you all foreigners here, fleeing from your various packs and coming into our pack to join us. We know some of you are travelers who love to visit different tourist centers, but some of you are defaulters in your packs. We know it's not easy leaving your pack borders unless you've been banished.

Starting with you! What brings you here to the Western Pack territory? Mind you, your answer will be tested, and if you're found guilty of lying, you will be flogged and severely punished. Your treatment here will be worse than death," Alpha Collins warned, his yellow eyes burning calmly at all six foreigners.

Camila gulped heavily, hearing Alpha Collins' final judgment.

"Are you ready to speak? Now you?" Alpha Collins pointed to the first foreigner, who all wore similar oversized blue garments.

"Speak! Tell us your name, where you're from, and why you were banished from your pack, or why you left your pack," Alpha Collins questioned. Camila could see the treasurer writing down all the spoken words.

Camila stared to her left. She was the third person. As the first person spoke, Camila realized the person wasn't from her pack but from the Northern Pack. The person said he was on a tourist visit, searching to learn more about plants.

"Hmm..." Alpha Collins hummed, staring at the next person who spoke. The next person was from the Southern Pack and said he stole multiple times, which was why he left the pack to find a solution.

"Argh..." Alpha Collins lowly growled.

Camila could see Alpha Collins growl at the second person, a man. When the Alpha's gaze finally fell on Camila White, she gulped heavily, her forehead sweating as she became nervous and stammered to reveal the reason for her banishment.
