He walked slowly back to the pack house. He couldn't wrap his mind around it, how could he define what had happened in the space of the precious night and this morning, a test of faith maybe?. If that was true, does that mean that he passed or would he just pass away in his sleep or just lose his mind later in the day.

After everything that had happened he wouldn't put it past the so called benevolent moon goddess. He winced at the direction his thoughts had just taken. His mother was probably turning in her grave as we speak, to hear her son so much as think about the goddess she had placed so highly. But he couldn't help it, the moon goddess had been nothing but a giant pain in his rear end in the past years.

He couldn't help but smile in melancholy at the fact that he couldn't even call his rear end what would and could be classified as a curse word in the same thought as anything related to the moon goddess. His mother and the women that raised him had drilled respect for the moon goddess into him. Scratch that, his mother would be proud, at least he wasn't that far gone. He shook his head free of thoughts like that before his mother or worse still the moon goddess sent down lightening to strike him as he begrudgingly continued walking back to the pack.

Back at the pack, the head of the guard went into the Alpha’s office to report the happenings in the pack and most importantly to report the scene the slaves had caused this morning. After reading his  daily reports of the happenings in the pack. He brought the scene caused by the slaves that morning to the Alpha’s notice. They were still deliberating on the perfect punishment when a guard ran into the room smiling.

The Alpha was about to yell at him but seeing the smile on this particular guard’s face was alarming.

This guard’s name was Frank. He was known for his brutality and hatred that only rivals that of the head guard Sir Dave’s towards the slaves so seeing him with a smile on his face was a cause for alarm.

Still smiling “Alpha, Sir Dave You need to see this”. He said.

They both stood up and followed as he lead them outside and the sight they met out side brought a smile to their faces. Everyone of the slaves were in a sad mood. They went about their daily duties in a somber mood. Each and everyone of them could barely keep their tears at bay, their only ray of hope was gone. The older pack women had retired to their room and had not made any appearances since morning.

On the other hand, the alpha was beside himself in joy. He had finally done it, he had gotten rid of the annoying pest. He had also successfully broken the slaves, to think that he was able to achieve this just by one action. He could now sit back and enjoy, why hadn’t he never thought of this before, he chuckled manically to himself.

There was no need to even pass a punishment, they were already suffering enough.

Goddess he couldn’t believe it, he had finally broken them and now that their supposed leader was gone, he had nothing to fear. He could now do whatever he wanted with the Slaves. He would make them fear and respect him as their Alpha. Thank the goddess he was able to think about this , because if he hadn’t he didn’t know how long he was going to be able to keep them in the position they were in.

Sometimes he couldn’t understand this people, they gave away everything they were to protect their so called Luna and their Heir. He expected them to have realized what a mistake that was seeing as their so called Luna warms his bed every night, which would have left Dalton as the only slave under him. However they stood by their alpha choosing instead to slave alongside him.

He knew Dalton would have done anything for his son. The same son that was lying dead in his basement and stinking the entire basement up. He never really meant to kill the child but the Goddamned spawn of the devil wouldn’t stop crying. He just go tired of its whining one day so he picked up the child and threw him at the stone wall.

That sure did shut him up, it took a few hours to realize the child was dead and another few minutes for the magnitude of what he had done sink in. He had just killed his only leverage, that was when he started thinking on how to dispose and kill off Dalton.

Although the other pack members turned slaves were never really part of the initial plan, he couldn’t deny that after owning them for over Two years he had fallen in love with the feeling.

He still didn’t understand and would probably never understand nor feel the amount of love they felt for their alpha that made them suffer with him up until this time and possibly for the rest of their lives.

A small voice in his head whispered “they would never had done that for you” to him.

A small part of him had always yearned to be loved even if it was just by one person but he quickly learned to push it down. No matter what he did to show for the darned pack, they never appreciated him. They only ever cared about “little Alpha Dalton” so he had decided he would rather be feared than loved. He needed to celebrate, and what better way than to choke their Luna with his cock and fill her up with his seed. He turned to go back in but a loud uproar caused him to turn back around. He turned around to his greatest nightmare. DALTON WAS ALIVE AND BACK.

ALPHA JAMES POVThe office is quiet. Too quiet. Apart from the ancient grandfather clock ticking in the distance, I couldn’t hear a thing. I leaned back in my office chair after trying unsuccessfully to concentrate on the pile of pack documents spread across my desk. I know deep down why I cant concentrate but I refuse to acknowledge it. The weekly visits I pad to her cottage were becoming as necessary to me as they were dangerous, a dangerous thrill that clawed at my control and took over my mind whenever she wasn’t around me. The door creaked open breaking the silence and conveniently scattering my thoughts . I looked up quickly masking my irritation as Caitlyn slipped inside. Her dark hair was pinned back to match the elegant silk red gown flowing over her figure. I caught the sharp look in her bright eyes as it settled on me. . This wasn’t going to be good.“Jaamesss babyyyyy,” she slurred in her patronizing fake yodel voice. I used to love her voice but now it caused disgust to

Alpha James's P.o.vJames’s patience was wearing thin with each step he took into the dense forest. The stupid twisting forest with its tall and dead trees only irritated him further. The path he was on was narrow with thorns and shrubs that kept on snagging his clothes and scraping his skin. He muttered a curse and shoved them aside with force, his brows furrowing as he stomped angrily through the forest.“I’m an Alpha for crying out loud,” he muttered under his breath holding a glare at the path in front of him. “And yet here I am stumbling and cutting through this godforsaken forest for a witch.” He had left his guards and carriage behind at her last warning . A decision he as now regretting. Yet, he felt more like a lone fool than the Alpha he’d fought so hard to become. He angrily cut through the last thicket and there it was. A small, rickety house. “I can’t take it anymore, Paul. We need to do something. I can’t stand looking at him anymore. I hate him so much. Oh, goddess, I just want to step all over his cursed face,” I whispered to Paul, pacing across my office with rage.“Have patience, My Lord; we’ll figure out something. We always do,” Paul replied, trying to calm me.“It’s been six months, Paul, six whole months. Six months filled with nights of praying that he is killed off in the Troubled Waters just like every other goddamned mortal that ever goes there, and mornings seeing him walk back to the pack with that cursed smile on his face. I can’t take it anymore. It feels like I might go mad if I continue to see his face,” I ranted exasperatedly, pulling at my hair. I imagined how I must look like to him now, and suddenly I couldn’t bear to see his face anymore.“You may leave now, Paul; you’re dismissed,” I ordered, waving him away. I watched his back until he got out of the room, shutting the door behind him.#My eyes w

Dalton’s P.O.V I couldn’t stop thinking of the wolf. I can’t define it; it’s just there. I’ve been sleeping at the Troubled Waters for about 2 weeks now, and she just shows up every day to curl up beside me. I swear I’ve never felt so much at peace in my life. Sometimes it feels like I've known the wolf all my life, like I grew up with her, like I’m connected to her. I used to feel like this for Caitlyn, but that was understandable; she’s my mate. Up until I came across the wolf, that is. It wasn’t possible for a shifter to be gifted with two mates. What am I even thinking about? I wasn’t even sure she was a shifter and not a pure wolf. Goddess, I need to figure this out soon before I go mad. My thoughts were interrupted by the list of chores handed to me. What an irony life was, a pure Alpha Bloodbeing asked to wash toilets, but I’d do anything for my son, so off we go. It was already nightfall by the time I finished all the chores on the list and slowly made my way in the directio
