There he was, alive and well. He walked slowly towards the pack house. Everything seemed to be stuck in a stand still. No one could believe their eyes. No mortal had ever, escaped alive. It was impossible to even think about but there the evidence was. He wasn't even about to doubt the fact that the guards had followed him to the perimeter,Sir Dave had gone with them and if there was anyone who wished Dalton dead as much as him, it was definitely Sir Dave.
The reason could be traced back to when Dalton was still the Alpha and he being Dave had tried to rape one of the pack women. He assumed that he had free reign because he was the Luna’s father.
One of the things known about Dalton was the high resect he had for females after all he had being raised by a bunch of them. Anyways Alpha Dalton had caught him, Oh goddess he nearly killed Dave. He had nearly shifted at the point. He tore across Dave’s face with his claws .He still has a scar running across on his face to remind him of the incident.
He hadn’t even let the fact that Sir Dave’s daughter was his mate and Luna of the pack at the time deter him from delivering the appropriate punishment and the pack members had sang his praises for months after that. Sir Dave had been greatly embarrassed by the incident .So it was fair to say Sir Dave loathed him.But how was this then possible. He wasn’t an apparition, he was a mortal and had survived the wrath of the Troubled waters. What did that mean for him? Does this mean the Goddess had decided to favor Dalton. The more he though about it the more afraid he became. Muttering “it wasn’t possible” continuously under his breath , he turned back and stomped back to his room with the head guard closely behind him.
There was a loud uproar as everyone of the slave seemed to snap out of it as they all ran to surround him. None of the guards even dared to stop them, they had never seen them like this. They seemed to be moving in such dynamic, so unbreakable, undeterred in their numbers regardless of all the shit life had thrown towards them. The older pack women came out to find out what was causing the uproar they were hearing and ran out as soon as they saw who it was. All of them including the women all bowed their heads to him welcoming him as Alphas were customarily greeted when they return back to the pack after winning a war before proceeding to embrace him.
The older women somehow adorned him with flower crowns , again another customary way to congratulate Alphas when they returned from a successful war. This continued for about an hour. Everyone surrounding him trying to hug him and offer him their respect and allegiance. Some young girls in the pack even went up to him to greet him and the brave ones confessed their feelings for him. They were soon pulled away by their mothers .They all dispersed back to their respective duties after all embracing him. The few that remained with him were dispersed by the Alpha’s order that everyone returned back to their duties including Dalton.
Soon everything was back to normal in the pack, the slaves were back to their normal cycle of working every second of day, the only difference was that they now seemed to be working tirelessly and with smiles on their faces. Despite the added amount of verbal and physical abuse the Alpha had ordered to be added to their workload, a few whips, kicks, spittle her and there they did their work with so much joy that it increased the already built up anger of the alpha. He retired back to his chambers in frustration.
After the day’s work the slaves were also allowed to retire back to their respective rooms and the next set of slaves took over for the night. Dalton in his room and inner circle related everything that happened to him at the troubled waters to his roommates trying to make sense of it all. None of them could answer why exactly any of those incidents had happened but they all agreed on one thing.
If all that happened was a test, the fact that he was not yet dead was proof enough that he had passed. He then proceeded further to describe the gorgeous she-wolf he had met there and the peace he felt in his soul with her. He also proceeded to relay the “Bleeding rose” situation.
None of the men had ever heard about it and knew nothing about it. Everyone had heard the story of the bleeding roses but none of them had ever heard anything about the roses turning white.
Most of the men in this room had grown up with Dalton and knew him to be a man of few words. He hadn’t always been the greatest talker, he believed mostly in actions ,so hearing him talk so passionately about something they didn’t pass up on the chance to tease him. Celebrating the best way they knew how, they teased him about her. Some of them even went as far as mimicking him with their eyes widened.
“She’s so gorgeous and so big” they mimicked with mirth in their eyes, causing the room to burst in laughter.
This continued until it was night time and it was time he return back to the troubled waters to pass his night as per the Alpha’s orders.
This time the Alpha stood by his room’s window to watch him go. As usual he was escorted to the perimeters and this time they waited till they saw him disappear into the gate of the troubled waters before all turning around with a smile. Surely the troubled waters wouldn’t let him escape twice.ALPHA JAMES POVThe office is quiet. Too quiet. Apart from the ancient grandfather clock ticking in the distance, I couldn’t hear a thing. I leaned back in my office chair after trying unsuccessfully to concentrate on the pile of pack documents spread across my desk. I know deep down why I cant concentrate but I refuse to acknowledge it. The weekly visits I pad to her cottage were becoming as necessary to me as they were dangerous, a dangerous thrill that clawed at my control and took over my mind whenever she wasn’t around me. The door creaked open breaking the silence and conveniently scattering my thoughts . I looked up quickly masking my irritation as Caitlyn slipped inside. Her dark hair was pinned back to match the elegant silk red gown flowing over her figure. I caught the sharp look in her bright eyes as it settled on me. . This wasn’t going to be good.“Jaamesss babyyyyy,” she slurred in her patronizing fake yodel voice. I used to love her voice but now it caused disgust to
Alpha James's P.o.vJames’s patience was wearing thin with each step he took into the dense forest. The stupid twisting forest with its tall and dead trees only irritated him further. The path he was on was narrow with thorns and shrubs that kept on snagging his clothes and scraping his skin. He muttered a curse and shoved them aside with force, his brows furrowing as he stomped angrily through the forest.“I’m an Alpha for crying out loud,” he muttered under his breath holding a glare at the path in front of him. “And yet here I am stumbling and cutting through this godforsaken forest for a witch.” He had left his guards and carriage behind at her last warning . A decision he as now regretting. Yet, he felt more like a lone fool than the Alpha he’d fought so hard to become. He angrily cut through the last thicket and there it was. A small, rickety house. The cottage was surrounded by dark ivy, a sagging roof and windows that peered back at him like eyes in the shadows. It looked nothi
“I can’t take it anymore, Paul. We need to do something. I can’t stand looking at him anymore. I hate him so much. Oh, goddess, I just want to step all over his cursed face,” I whispered to Paul, pacing across my office with rage.“Have patience, My Lord; we’ll figure out something. We always do,” Paul replied, trying to calm me.“It’s been six months, Paul, six whole months. Six months filled with nights of praying that he is killed off in the Troubled Waters just like every other goddamned mortal that ever goes there, and mornings seeing him walk back to the pack with that cursed smile on his face. I can’t take it anymore. It feels like I might go mad if I continue to see his face,” I ranted exasperatedly, pulling at my hair. I imagined how I must look like to him now, and suddenly I couldn’t bear to see his face anymore.“You may leave now, Paul; you’re dismissed,” I ordered, waving him away. I watched his back until he got out of the room, shutting the door behind him.#My eyes w
Hi Guys.I'm back🎉🎉.. I know it's being a long while but it's just being a lot. I had to get my mental health in check but anyways shall we continue the story?
Dalton’s P.O.V I couldn’t stop thinking of the wolf. I can’t define it; it’s just there. I’ve been sleeping at the Troubled Waters for about 2 weeks now, and she just shows up every day to curl up beside me. I swear I’ve never felt so much at peace in my life. Sometimes it feels like I've known the wolf all my life, like I grew up with her, like I’m connected to her. I used to feel like this for Caitlyn, but that was understandable; she’s my mate. Up until I came across the wolf, that is. It wasn’t possible for a shifter to be gifted with two mates. What am I even thinking about? I wasn’t even sure she was a shifter and not a pure wolf. Goddess, I need to figure this out soon before I go mad. My thoughts were interrupted by the list of chores handed to me. What an irony life was, a pure Alpha Bloodbeing asked to wash toilets, but I’d do anything for my son, so off we go. It was already nightfall by the time I finished all the chores on the list and slowly made my way in the directio
