Mo’s Pov

It was that time of year again. The week everyone in Redwood Hollow lost their damn minds over a ball in Grayridge college, filled with every powerful Pack's heir in the werewolf community and in Redwood hollow town.

I sat quietly, maintaining the perks of being the second most powerful Alpha's daughter in Redwood Hollow. But who cares? My brother and his best friend had stolen the spotlight. The two famous hockey players in college, both in the same team and recognized as rivals in the werewolf  community.

My father had warned us to not engage with the Ravenmont packs but Daren never listened and I hated it. He was just calling for a death sentence all for someone who wasn't even worth it.

Daren waved his hands at me, after hitting a goal on the rink. I came to cheer for my brother but I only watched my brother being cheered for by the girls in Grayridge college. No one ever looked at me, or even noticed me. If anyone did, it was the one person I hated the most.

Radek. He's the definition of arrogant, pervert and irresponsible. He always found a way to piss me off. The last masquerade ball we had last year, he made me the center of attention in a humiliating way and I still hate him for that. Daren still hung out with him and made it seem like I was the problem. He had forced me to come to the game, and also got me a dress for the ball.

“You're always stuck with that weird book and never step outside. You should be out there making friends as the Alpha's daughter that you are. God knows what the hell you've been writing.” He scolded me once. I saw the concerned look on his face but I didn't care.

“And what about you?” I retorted. “You never cared to look at me once. If father finds out you're hanging out with Radek after your games? You should be ready to face the punishment that comes with it.”  I stormed out, clutching my diary in my hands.

“Hey, can you move?” A voice interrupted my effort to not engage in whatever was going on. I looked up to see a female figure with a mask on. Yeah, it was the masquerade ball week, but it was too soon to go around wearing a mask.

I adjusted a bit in my seat and focused on Daren. The game was ending soon and I would have to leave.

After twenty minutes, everyone began to pack up. I took my chance to get out of there as soon as I could, headed to the bathroom and washed off my face.

I looked into the mirror and mumbled, “Two days to the masquerade ball, Mo. And after that, you can find your mate and get out of this hell hole.”

“Look who we have here.” I turned to see Radek. His muscled arms swinging right in my face.

“Leave me alone, Radek.” I said, pushing him off. He caught my hands, his eyes staring deeply into mine.

“Daren asked me to take you home. He's going to the night party with the team.”

“I can take care of myself. Thanks.” I glared, walking out of the bathroom.

“Hey, cute face.”

“I thought I warned you not to call me ‘cute face’, Radek. We're not friends.”

“That's too bad, I like it and I'm not gonna stop.”

I scoffed and kept walking. He kept following.

“You know, Daren says you've been holding onto a book for days now and I think you're hiding something. I can guess.”

He said, his voice trailing my steps through the hallway. I ignored him, my head high watching the other girls giggle at the sight of him.

Pathetic.

“Tell me about what you have in your book, Mo.”

“Stop talking and leave me alone.”

“I need to make sure you're safe, even if it's not my duty.”

“Yes, then leave. Leave, Radek. We shouldn't be seen together.”

“Why? Because our packs are rivals?”

I stopped. I figured it was a rage bait. I covered up with a smile and turned to him.

“If you do not leave me alone right now, and find someone else to piss off, I'll rip your throat out and I don't care what happens to our packs either. It's only going to make it easy to recognize our differences and I can kill you with a legal reason.” I growled, my claws creeping out.

Radek stood still, his head tipped to the side and he chuckled.

“I love your eye color, Mo. That's the first time I've seen your wolf reveal herself to me. I'm impressed.” He laughed, his hands kept in his pocket..

I cannot believe this!

“Get out of my way.” I said and ran off to the entrance. The driver was supposed to arrive after the game, but he wasn't there.

“Told you! You're going home with me.” He appeared behind me. That stupid smirk on his face.

Daren must have called the driver off and father wouldn't care about me. He was probably in one of the meetings.

“Are we going to walk home or you'll get your car?”

“We just walk to the garage and we can leave.” He answered.

I followed quietly behind him. His perfect body shape. His neck, molded perfectly to fit his knuckle head, and his wavy black hair. I wouldn't deny it, Radek was definitely hot and I hated it even more.

“Get in.” He ordered, as soon as we arrived at the garage. I sat down gently, looking at the mirror and fixing my lip gloss.

“Your seatbelt, cute face.” He said. His grumpy voice only irritated me.

“Don't call me sweet face.” I said with a low growl.

“What are you going to do? Bite my face off?” He teased.

I shrugged and focused on the street lights. I noticed the road wasn't exactly the way to the Moonvale pack house.

“Radek,” I snapped, glaring at the road. “This isn’t the way to my pack house.”

He glanced at me, a wicked smirk curling on his lips.

Mo’s PovTonight, I was Daren. My stomach churned, the walls cramping with excitement and a subtle hint of anxiousness. I have spent nights watching Daren do this; he had done them effortlessly so it felt like it was a walk in the park. But here I was, hanging off the tree branch, thinking of how long I would hold before the guard discovered me.You might be wondering where I am headed. Well, I thought it was time to be daring, break a rule and see just how it feels to be rebellious. I was going to the party, and Radek had told me he would pick me up.But what I hadn’t taken into consideration was the fact that each night the guards change routines. It was a tactic my father had implemented, after the last surprise rogue attack. They had studied us, knew the right moment to attack. And that had been a flaw in our system, in my father’s eyes, he had failed the pack.Tonight, while I skilfully evaded the cameras, and crawled up the tree, I hadn’t considered that a few guards would want

Daren’s PovMonique was one puzzle that had a piece missing. You might want to drop it out of rage, but curiosity and love for the unknown just make you hang around. The missing piece or hidden piece is the one held by our father.I had heard the ending bit of the conversation, the anger in his voice when he knew she hadn’t been practising like she should. Beta Mark, the man had a twisted obsession with her. It irked me that there was nothing I could do yet.I was the next in line alpha, but until I sat on the throne, I was a rank below him.My eyes burned in anger as I glared at the phone, wondering what I would do to get her to talk to me. She wasn’t picking up my calls, but Radek had mentioned that they spoke for a minute. The guilt I felt slowly winded down, Radek had a way of making sure that he brought people out of their shells, and I was hoping that he would do the same to Monique. She was my sister, but goddess, the girl barely cracked a smile, conforming herself to something

Radek’s PovI could tell the minute she picked up the phone that something was wrong with her. But that didn’t deter me from trying to cheer her up.Just as I ended the call, the door opened, and Abby stood by it with a frown on her face. “What do you want?”“I can’t walk into your room?”“Abby, what do you need?” I asked, and I was still angry at the fact that she had interrupted the moment I had with Monique in the garden. She heaved a sigh, “Look, I don’t understand what is going on between us, I just want us to be back to what we were,”She looked sad, eyes gleaming with tears as she said the words. My chest clenched, this was never my intention. I can’t believe that she felt that way.“Sorry about that… the week has just been crazy,”She smiled, jumping onto the bed, “You wouldn’t believe the day that I had,”I dropped my phone by the corner, staring at her as she narrated the story of the crazy day she had experienced, and I found myself wondering what it was like talking to Mon

Mo’s PovMy fingers trembled, knuckles aching and raw. It wasn’t the pain from skin hitting skin that made me feel sick, it was the dangerous sensation that I felt as I drew blood. The hollowness in my chest, doubled with the constant echoing of my father’s words slamming hard in my head. The echoes of their cheers echoed through my ears and hung around me like a heavy smoke scent. I had won, saving the girl in record time. But the victory felt far-fetched. I could do all this and still be seen as nothing in his eyes. The water dripped down my body washing away the turmoil of the day. If he were here, he would have judged every move that I made.Of course, he wouldn't do it in front of everyone. He would smile, clap, a perfect show for his people and the minute the door is closed, he would react.Tell me everything that I did wrong.I kept my gaze stuck to the ground, I couldn’t bear to look at the cracked reflection that I would see in the mirror, the one thing that would tell me the

Mo’s povMy mind has turned into a warzone, a constant battle of acceptance and a daunting realisation.I had enjoyed his company, and inched closer into trying to kiss him.If the call didn’t come through what would have happened?“We are here,”I blinked, looking around in shock, I hadn’t paid attention to the road we were going on.“Monique, I was…”“Thank you for bringing me home,”I didn’t wait to hear his response, my feet moved faster than I thought they could, running down the street away from him and everything that had to do with him.The minute I walked through the gate, my body felt crippled with the weight of shame. No matter how hard I tried to stop the thoughts, I couldn’t hold myself back from thinking about the disdain that would be on my father’s face if he caught a whiff of this.I scurried past the training arena, guilt banging at the back of my mind. Ever since he and Daren left, I haven’t set foot on this ground.I was betraying him, I knew that.Almost like he c

Radek’s PovIt was rare, I was here and I remembered it.“Yes,”I would have screamed over the mountain at her words, but I knew that if I made any sudden movement, she would clamp up and shut down on me intently.“You will?” I asked, my voice dripping with disbelief. She rolled her eyes, picking up a flower to avoid my gaze. I noticed that she hated having attention on her, and shies away from being seen.“Don’t make me change my mind,” she hissed.“No, no, you already said yes, you can’t go back on your word now,” I said, smirking in excitement.I didn’t understand why her acceptance filled me with so much joy. And lately didn’t care to ask questions anymore. I just learned to enjoy the feeling.“When is the party?” she asked.“Why are you asking?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at her. She was trying to find a way to go back on her words, I knew that much. I could see it in her eyes.“Well, I need to mentally prepare myself for what is about to come,” she sighed.“Tomorrow night,” I re
