23. Fear and Curiosity

Evianna:

My heart raced under my ribcage and I could hear its sound.

I'm not sure what was going on with him. I could swear I did nothing bad. I looked at him as his face wrinkled in immense pain.

He clutched his stomach tightly, his left hand holding onto the bathtub for support, and staggering backward, away from me.

"Get out, now!" I heard Master Darren say sternly. He looked up at me but I didn't react for a while.

His red eyes stared deeply at me, and he closed them shut, coughing out hard.

Why were his eyes red?

That was a question for another day because my thoughts were running a marathon in my head.

I was torn.

Torn on whether to leave him this way and dash out for my safety.

Remembering how scared I was a while back, when he had tried to... I couldn't think back about it.

Sweat trickled down my face and reaching out for the shirt I had worn before, I turned around about to leave.

He coughed hard, and it became unbearable to listen to it.
