His daughter had never dared to talk back to him before, so Su Bohai was quite stunned to see her temper flare now.

Of course, Su Jianxi was not done venting yet. She turned her sights to Su Huanran, saying, “Don’t act like you’re all that and get thoughts above your station. You’re the one who couldn’t get the scene right, but you asked someone else to take the blame for you? Was the Su Family too good to you? How could you forget that you’re only the nanny’s daughter? Su Huanran, where do you think you’d be if it weren’t for my help and support? Now you want me to give you everything I have. Do you really think you’re worth all that?”

“You… You… I knew it! You always say you’re my good friend, but you actually look down on me. You planned everything that happened today, didn’t you? You wanna take everything away from me!” Su Huanran was so angry at Su Jianxi’s words that her face alternated between red and pale.

She was also Su Bohai’s daughter, but because she was illegitimate, she had been living the life of a servant in the Su Family for all these years.

Every time she saw Su Jianxi act high and mighty, she felt as though her anger would drive her mad.

“You can think whatever you like. I didn’t intend to accept that role offer, but after you said that, I changed my mind. Su Huanran, I’m going back into showbiz.”

Su Jianxi looked at Su Huanran arrogantly. She never acted pitiful and begged for sympathy.

Even so, she always got what she wanted.

Shen Siming hurriedly pulled Su Jianxi into his arms, consoling her gently, “Jianxi, Huanran doesn’t know any better, so don’t mind too much, alright? Too many things happened today, that’s why she’s a little emotional.”

Su Jianxi chuckled softly, shoving Shen Siming away mercilessly.

“When a crisis strikes, my dad and my boyfriend both leap to Su Huanran’s defense. Color me surprised. You guys are a family, and I’m the outsider. In that case, can I leave now?”

Su Jianxi felt that if she stayed here for any longer, she might actually die of anger.

She ran out of the Su Family and called over a cab. Shen Siming chased her and tried to stop her, but she ignored him, closed the car door, and simply left.

It was the first Shen Siming felt like he could not control Su Jianxi. As he watched the car vanish into the distance, he could not help but curse, “F*ck.”

When he returned to the house, Su Huanran had stopped crying and she immediately asked him, “How is it? Did Su Jianxi agree?”

They had made Su Jianxi take the blame and sacrifice for them countless times by now.

Every time, Su Jianxi always danced to their tune, so tonight really took them by surprise.

“She just jumped into a cab.” Shen Siming sat next to Su Huanran, looking less than pleased.

Su Jianxi’s attitude toward him really annoyed him.

An eerie silence fell across the entire hall, and in the end, Shen Siming was the one who broke it. “Maybe we rushed it. I’ll slowly change Jianxi’s mind.”

“Yeah, and find a time to tell Jianxi about you and Huanran.” After Su Bohai said that, Qin Feng helped him upstairs.

Su Huanran and Su Jianxi were both his daughters, so he should love them equally.

However, Su Bohai felt like he owed Su Huanran more. He was the reason she and her mother suffered so much criticism for so many years, and Huanran was pregnant with Siming’s child now, so he had to sacrifice Jianxi for Huanran’s happiness.

Now, the only ones left in the huge living hall were Shen Siming and Su Huanran.

Su Huanran sat on Shen Siming’s lap and put her hands on the man’s face. “Siming, the lead role in that film is really important to me, so we can’t let Su Jianxi take it away. Otherwise, all our efforts would be for nothing.”

Su Jianxi left in the car, and after more than ten minutes, she abruptly remembered that she had forgotten her phone at the Su Family house.

She had no choice but to ask the driver to turn around so she could get her phone, but what Su Jianxi did not know was that this little U-turn would reveal yet another truth to her.
