CHAPTER ONE

"You're so amazing baby!"

Olivia moves uncomfortably on the bed, curling herself up but careful not to make any noise.

The conversation Maynard is having keeps breaking her heart and she wishes there was a way to stop him from doing so.

Over thirty minutes, she has been awake, listening to the phone call her husband was making.

Not like it's the first time, on several occasions... Maynard was seen with a lady whose face Olivia has never gotten to see. A night, she saw Maynard going into an hotel with hands wrapped firmly around a lady.

Olivia could not see the lady's face since she could only have a glimpse of their back view.

It's not the typical her to just storm into the hotel, pull the lady by her hair and curse her never to get close to her husband. Olivia remained calm nonetheless.

"...I can't wait to see you! Can't wait to get massaged by you.."

Olivia takes her lower lips in and bites on it hard as it wounds her deeply to watch Maynard flirt with another woman right in her presence.

It would have been a whole lot better if he had stepped out to make the call. At least, she would not have woken up to the sound of his voice.

Reaching out to her phone, She checks the time. It's midnight already yet he's still flirting with someone while she's alone on a cold bed.

With her eyes slightly open, She watches Maynard place his phone down and walks out of the room.

She's not the type of person to snoop on someone else's cellphone but she can't help it. Pushing the duvet away, she rushes over to his phone with shaky hands.

Olivia stares at Maynard's cellphone with tears brimming in her eyes as she went through his photos and text messages and even who his last caller is.

It pierces her emotions so deep that Maynard had maintained lots of contacts with Vernes. Her núdé and sexy pictures were all over his phone.

She Places the phone down and went back to bed, pulling the pillow closer to her chest and maybe it would bring a little comfort to her.

It worries her to have realized that the woman her husband have been secretly meeting and flirting with is no one else but Traydor Vernes - his ex girlfriend.

How shocking!! Maynard had told her that he already moved on and lost contact with Vernes. That was a big fat lie.

She couldn't hold back her tears anymore! She was hurting deeply. How long will she take this? How long is she going to condone his unfaithful nature? How long is she going to keep turning a blind eye to it and blaming herself for everything? How long....

Walking out of the bathroom, Maynard stops on his track and fixes his gaze on the sleeping Olivia.

His forehead creases with a scowl. He pulls a towel off his neck and throws it carelessly into the wardrobe and storms towards Olivia.

Like any other gentle and loving husband would rain kisses on their wife, Maynard was far different from that.

He draws the blanket off her body and taps her recklessly while she jerks up. He folds his arms over his chest and glare at her.

Olivia rubs her eyes and sits up. "Is there a problem Maynard? Why did you wake me up in such manner?" Her voice remained as calm as ever.

Seeing him brought back memories of last night and Instead of her getting all mad at him, she chooses to stay calm. Her marriage to Maynard is the most important treasure to her right now.

"Why are you still asleep by this time of the day?"

Olivia turns to her phone and checks the time. She turns the phone to him...

"It's just 7:15am Maynard" She responded.

"So what? You forgot I have work to go to uh? You forgot you have a husband to make breakfast for! Do you want me to head to work on an empty stomach?"

Surprise etched on Olivia's face as Maynard was being literally rude to her. What's all the fuss about? Shouldn't she be the one getting all angry? why is he being so arrogant?

"You know I don't wake up until it's 8am Maynard. Besides, we have maids who cook breakfast and am sure they're downstairs busy making breakfast, you won't leave for work on an empty stomach.." She said.

"Oh! Really.. So because we have maids, does that mean I won't get to eat the food my wife prepares? Why then do I have a wife? Are your duties only to satisfy your sexual urges and produce kids for me? Is that it?.."

His words pierces through Olivia's heart like a sharp sword. She sucks in a deep breath and licks her lip.

"Fine! I promise to make breakfast for you tomorrow. As of now, I have a headache and I need to get some rest. Can you just have what the maids prepare, please...!!"

Olivia pulls the blanket over her body, ready to catch some more sleep since she really didn't get enough sleep last night but Maynard again, pulls the duvet off her and throws it away.

".. How on Earth did I not see how lazy you are before getting married to you?"

"Excuse me!!.." Olivia aches her brows.

"You heard me! If I knew you were this lazy, I would never have gotten married to you in the first place. You're nothing compared to my Ex girlfriend, Vernes.."

Olivia's eyes narrows.. How can he still have the nerve to mention her name in front of her?

"Listen, Vernes was nothing like you. She isn't as lazy as you are! I can't believe I've been putting up with you for so long..." He mumbles the last part but she clearly heard it.

Olivia swallows hard, trying so hard not to get intimidated by his words. He's only trying to make her angry but she won't give in.

".. I agree. I agree am nothing compared to your ex girlfriend, so was that the reason you couldn't hide your affair with her for the sake of our marriage that you had to be seen everywhere with her and even make calls with her right in my presence. Is that the reason?"

"You snooped on my phone?" Maynard's frown deepens and his glare hardened. He thought she was asleep while he made that call.

Olivia let's out a dry laugh. "You thought I was asleep but I wasn't. I heard Everything Maynard and you lied to me. You told me you moved on from her already whereas you were busy secretly having an affair with Vernes"

"Yes! I won't deny it. I reconnected back with Vernes, so what? Am tired of you already Olivia. Am fed up of seeing your face everyday. What's so wrong with having just a little fun?"

This is all too shocking for Olivia to bare. Maynard doesn't feel remorseful that he has been caught. Has he belittled her so much that he can easily admit to his sins?

"Why Maynard? It could have been another girl.. not Vernes. Your ex for crying out loud!"

"It's Vernes I want now. Oh! And listen, this should be the last time you'd snoop on my phone. Who I hang out with and who I talk with on the phone should be none of your business. If this ever happens again, I swear Olivia, that would be the last day we would be known as a couple.."

A light gasp leaves her lips as she watch him leave the room. Maynard was never like this when they first got married. He was so sweet and she thought her search was over since she got herself a prince charming but everything changed when Vernes showed up.

Olivia was less bothered because Maynard said he moved on already but now that she realizes that the lady he's seeing is actually Vernes, breaks her heart to pieces.

Maynard is going to actually divorce her because of Vernes! The look on his face says it all.

Olivia tears her gaze from the mirror when her cellphone rang. She quickly answers it.

"Where the hell did you keep your phone sister!?"

"Am sorry it was actually on silence and I didn't hear it ring.." There was a brief silence and Lucy speaks up again after hearing her sister sniff.

"Hey! What's wrong? Don't tell me you're crying.. Hey! Did you find him cheating again? Tell me where he is and I'll come over, you can't stop me this time..!"

Lucy was ready to go defend her sister. She can't bare to see her sister hurting because of Maynard.

Olivia explains her predicament to Lucy. She needs someone to talk to and Lucy is in the best position to comfort her.

"Are you seriously going to live with this for the rest of your life Olivia? It's only been a year together with him and he's already showing you who he really is, what more when you want to spend the rest of your life with him. Don't you think it's going to be hell on Earth?"

"But I love him Lucy. I love Maynard so much! I think I can keep on with this, it's no big deal..."

"It's a one sided love Olivia. He really doesn't love you. What's the point of marriage if you constantly wallow in pain?" Lucy said.

Olivia bites her lower lip and wipes the lone tears on her face.

"Listen Olivia.. I have just one thing to say and if I were you, I'll do it with immediate effect.."

"What is it Lucy?"

It took a while before Lucy responded.... "Divorce him"
