After a night of tossing and turning Cammie gets up before sunrise for a second morning in a row. Nervous about going back to the cliff edge, where Robin found her and where it had all happened. Terrified that she may find Callie’s clean picked bones scattered along the forest floor she gets up out of bed switches the light on and checks the time. It’s only three thirty am. Careful not to make any noise she goes through the bag of clothing from the Mountain Outfitters store. She lays all the items on the bed neatly. Checking the jeans over, they don’t look too bad, but she decides to go with the hiking trousers that have thermal lining in because she can tell there’s still a nip of cold in the air. Once dressed in her navy trouser, long sleeved baby blue top, fleece and burgundy coloured fluffy socks, Cammie checks the time again. It’s four-twenty-three am. Contemplating whether or not it would be okay to wake Robin up, Cammie decides she’ll give it another half hour before headin
After one last discussion about how to stay safe while hiking in the Alaskan mountains and the forest, which animals to look out for and how to keep from getting injured. Robin grabs his rucksack and rifle before they head out the door, lock it and start walking. Robin takes Cammie to the edge of his property line, it’s a large area that is attached to his fathers property. The further they go, the denser the forest becomes as they walk uphill towards the cliff that can be seen in the distance. Once the cliff comes into sight, Robin immediately sees a change in Cammie’s demeanour. From the moment she laid eyes on the cliff side, he could see she’d become withdrawn, quiet and her face furrowed along her brow. Her lips pursed together tightly with worry and he could tell her mind was in a dark place. Trying to keep her distracted from it, Robin shows Cammie where the path is that both he and the local wildlife use in order to get through the thick brush. Although it’s only just t
Robin comes in from outside just as Cammie is about to dish the food up. It’s nothing special, just eggs and toast because she’s too tired to defrost something from the deep freezer. Robin comes in and gives Cammie a smile, “hmm a girl after my own heart, I’m starving!” Cammie feeling pleased with herself for taking the initiative to make them some food, places two plates on the counter. Robin comes in and leans the rifle up next to the front door as he comes in, takes his coat off and hangs it up on its hook near the door, just as he’s about to remove his boots he hears a truck coming up the road. He looks to Cammie, who also heard the truck and looks pale as a sheet, as if his poor dove hasn’t had enough of a scare today. “Go to the bedroom and stay there until I say it’s clear”, Robin orders her. Cammie immediately runs to the bedroom and closes the door, leaving it slightly ajar so she can hear who it is if they come in. Hoping it’s the Sheriff and Willow. Cammie looks
Cammie goes back to the bedroom to change. This time she puts a pair of the jeans on with one of her new t-shirts and puts her boots back on as she thinks to herself, I can’t loose it like I did earlier on the mountain. I need to keep my head straight. Determined not to let her fear control her, she tries to convince herself that she is the same tough and fearless woman she was before the attack. She is still the same woman who survived an arrow through the stomach and hyperthermia. If she could face these fuckers once, she could do it again. Heading back out into the living area, Robin in the kitchen with the eggs being reheated in the pan. Cammie sees a shotgun leaning up against the wall next to the hunting rifle and a hand gun is laying on the kitchen counter close to where Robin is reheating the eggs. Determined she is going to defend herself at all costs she asks Robin, “are you going to show me how to use one of those?” Robin looks up at Cammie, “have you ever shot a gun b
I wonder if I should pack some things in a bag, Cammie asks herself. We might need to do a runner into the forest if someone comes. Looking at Robin who is checking out of each window every few minutes. He’s definitely on edge and is expecting something to happen tonight, I’d better pack a bag. I walk into the bedroom and head straight over to my pile of folded clothes. I figure the jeans I’ve got on are fine to wear more then a day but I grab fresh underwear and socks and spare T-shirt. I also grab the fleece and put it into Robins hiking rucksack. It’s not big so I have to be careful what I put into it. Scanning the room, I walk over to Robins drawers and grab a fresh T-shirt and a yellow and grey plaid button up shirt that feels nice and thick which should help keep him warm if we have to stay out in the cold all night. I grab some thick socks for him too and stuff them in the bag. Okay, so we’ll definitely be needing food and water. In the kitchen I find our water bottles,
My legs are starting to ache, I can’t stay in this squat position behind this chair for much longer, where the hell is Robin? Falling forward, I grab the chair to stabilise myself and it scrapes along the wooden floor, “Shit!” Worried they’re going to hear me in here. I gently slide the chair back into position and re-adjust myself so I’m distributing my weight more evenly. I lift the handgun and rest the end of the barrel on the top of the back of the chair, pointing it dead centre of the doorway. If anyone comes into the room now I’ve got a clear shot. It’s quiet, all I can hear is my own heart beating and my loud breathing, which is heavy and deep. Breathe Cam, just Breath…. I try some calming deep inhalation through my nose and out through my mouth in an attempt to slow down and steady my breathing and my racing heart. Everything’s dark, I can see the slit of light coming through underneath the door from the study lamp in the other room. All of a sudden, I see a shadow
Still unsure of what is happening I wait patiently in the living room with Callie. Robin is outside with whoever had come to save the day in the chopper. With the power of a hurricane the front door slams open, making Cammie and Callie jump with nervous tension. In rushes a woman with blue dreadlocks and a black leather coat. She runs straight to Callie and wraps her arms around her, “Jesus! What a night? You girls do not want to go out there, there’s a lot of blood” she says with a big eyed warning. My thoughts immediately turn to Robin, and she sees the panic in my face. “Your mountain man is just fine”, she’s quick to reassure me. She turns to Callie and whispers in her ear, almost so quietly that I only just make out what she says, “I’m glad your okay, I was worried about you”. And she nuzzles her nose up against Callie’s cheek. Not entirely sure who this person is or why she’s nuzzled so cosily in Cal’s neck at first, but the realisation slowly hits me when I notice she
Opening my eyes the first thing I see is Cammie staring deep into my eyes. She’s so beautiful, I think to myself. Her soft cream skin and striking blue-green eyes, hair cascading over the pillow, framing her heart shaped face and flowing gently down the front of her neck. “Mornin” I sleepily smile at her. Leaning in to me with a shy smile Cammie gently drops a kiss on my lips then pulls back and says coyly, “would you like some more of that?” My heart skips a beat, then starts to race by the way she’s just unexpectedly and so seductively said that, I get a rush of blood straight to my manhood making it so hard it hurts. I nod my head yes. “Then come and get it”, she says behind blushing red cheeks. Oh my god I can’t believe it’s finally going to happen. Just as I’d always imagined, at her request. Ready to do anything my dove wills of me I’m putty in her hands.. leaning forward about to give her the most amazing kiss she has ever experienced… Robin’s eyes open as the pain in
