Trista’s POV

“I don’t know,” I sighed. “It seems so…extreme.”

Felicity nodded. “You’ll also need to cut your wrists again, like you did in the wedding ceremony to mix your blood together. It’s your mixed blood that Belle really needs.”

Suddenly, Liam spoke up. “I have an idea,” he said, coming towards me. “You believe that Trista and I still have a bond?” he asked his mother.

“A weak one, but yes. I don’t believe your bond is entirely severed.”

“Okay,” Liam replied. “Then maybe Trista and I could try mixing our blood without marking each other?”

“I don’t think that will work,” Felicity replied. “It’s the blood of mates Belle needs.”

“Yes, I know,” Liam replied. “But maybe there’s enough of our connection left that mixing our blood will be enough to awaken Belle’s wolf?”

He was looking at me now. I realized in that moment that Liam didn’t want to mark me either. He was trying to find a way to save

Liam’s POV “What are you doing?” Dr. Ashcroft asked, her eyes wide as Trista and I held our dripping, bloody wrists over Belle’s mouth. “We restored our matebond,” I told the doctor, without even looking at her. My eyes were fixed on Belle. The doctor rushed over. Trista and I removed our wrists from over Belle’s mouth and the doctor started taking Belle’s vital signs. I grabbed a cloth for Trista to put over her wrist, and we both waited with baited breath to see if it had worked. After what felt like forever, Dr. Ashcroft sighed heavily and turned to us. “She’s breathing,” the doctor confirmed. “She has a heartbeat, but it’s weak.” “She’s going to be okay?” Trista asked, her voice flooded with hope. Dr. Ashcroft furrowed her brows. “She’s stabilized, but she’s still in a coma.” My heart sank. “What does that mean?” Trista asked. “It means,” Dr. Ashcroft said, “that if Bel

Liam’s POV I stopped dead in my tracks. My parents must have seen the look on my face because they both asked, in unison: “What is it?” “What’s wrong?” I held up my hand curtly to silence them both. I knew in my heart that something had happened to Belle. I could feel Trista’s sadness washing over her in waves now. And sure enough, only seconds later, Trista’s voice called out, crystal clear, through our mind link. “Liam,” she said. “Please come. Hurry. It’s Belle. Something’s wrong.” I brushed past my parents, my heart hammering in my chest, heading towards the bedroom where Belle was. “What happened, Trista?” I asked, fearing the worst. I pictured little Belle in my mind’s eye, on the bed, lifeless, her face pale and her eyes glossed over. NO! I forced the image out of my head. “I don’t know,” Trista said. “Dr. Ashcroft is here. Something’s…happening. And it…it

Liam’s POV I paused. My father looked sincerely upset. I struggled to process everything I was hearing. “What do you mean?” I asked, my tone shifting. “Why did you feel guilty?” My father sighed so deeply, his caused his shoulders to hunch. “We wronged the Moonlar family,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Wrong them?” I asked. “How?” My parents had never talked so openly and honestly with me before. I was surprised. My father was clearly rattled, and it was strange for me to see him like that. He normally had such a sharp edge to him. My entire life, I’d never really seen any emotions from him. He hadn’t been an affectionate father. He’d always been strong and stoic. So seeing him like this, seeing the emotions coming off him in waves, was both jarring and startling. “When Trista’s mother was pregnant with her, she showed signs of…poisoning,” my mother cut in. That caught me

Liam’s POV “What are you talking about?” I snapped at my mother. She was still holding my arm firmly. There was a look of desperation on her face. “You have it all wrong. Everything. We never looked down on Trista. You’ve got things skewed,” my mother said. “Yes, you did,” I chuckled sardonically. “You didn’t like her because her wolf was born with a disability and…” “No she wasn’t,” my mother said. Then she looked at me, shocked by her own words. We both fell silent. What? What did she mean, ‘no she wasn’t’? Was she saying that Trista’s wolf WASN’T born blind? But that was…that was ridiculous. Of course her wolf was. “I…um…I shouldn’t have…” My mother stumbled over her words. She was clearly quite flustered. She let go of my arm and glanced over at my father. They exchanged an uncomfortable look. “What’s going on?” I asked, narrowing my eyes. I sensed that my mother had acci

Liam’s POV I sat in stunned silence for a moment. Then I sprung up off the bed to follow Trista. I knew that she was upset and likely overwhelmed with what had just happened and I wanted to talk to her. But the moment I opened my bedroom door, I found myself face to face with my parents. “Is everything all right, Son?” my mother asked, her brows furrowed in concern. My relationship with my parents wasn’t particularly great at the moment. We’d had a few heated arguments in the past over pack management. I’d always been relatively close to my parents before that, but our disagreements had caused a wedge in our relationship. Things had never been the same since, and my relationship with my parents hadn’t fully healed yet. I glared at them. What were they doing, lurking outside my bedroom door? Had they been eavesdropping? My mother had made it clear that she wanted Trista and I to restore our matebond, but I didn’t underst

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 254: A Stronger Bond

Liam’s POV I sat on the bed and listened as Trista told me, in a firm voice, that she would never be my Luna again. She wanted to go back to her old life, her life with Johnson no doubt, once it was safe to do so. I listened, and agreed with her. But deep down, I hoped that, once we were both marked, she’d change her mind. We sat in awkward silence for a bit before I suggested that I go first. She agreed. And so, I took a deep breath, and let Dextren bare his fangs.I felt her skin give way as Dextren’s fangs punctured her neck.It was instantaneous. The moment I sunk Dextren’s fangs into Trista’s neck, I was flooded with a surge of sexual desire. It was so strong, it literally took my breath away. However, I pushed it back down. Trista still had to mark me for the matebond to be complete. I withdrew my fangs, the sweet taste of Trista’s metallic blood thick in my mouth. Dextren’s nerves were on fire. He’d on
