My Alpha King Ex-husband's Regrets

“You are pregnant, Luna Emerald.”

My heart beats so fast again when I remember these words from the pack doctor. She just informed me about my pregnancy. A pregnancy that I can't wait to tell my husband about.

Alpha James, the new Alpha King of Crescent Moon Pack was my husband. We got married almost a year ago and now I could still recall that very moment when my life had changed. It was just a forced marriage. We both agreed on the name of our packs.

As time goes by, I have formed feelings for him. A feeling that I know I am scared of telling him. James and I were not real mates. He hasn't found his real mate yet. We have agreed that once he finds her, he will leave me. He would reject our marriage and I can have my freedom.

I agreed at first, but after a year of being together, I have learned that I can't lose him. I can't give him to anyone, especially now that he will become a father to our child. 

He has no idea about my pregnancy and I can't wait to tell him about it. I can't wait to let anyone know that I am carrying the Alpha King's heir.

Tonight, my life will change. His treatment of me will change. Alpha James will never be cold again just like what he used to do after we got married. I know how important the child of the Alpha King is. A child will change his perception of me. He will learn to love me now because I am carrying his heir. 

I can't wait to let him know about this. After leaving the pack doctor, I stayed in my room to wait for Alpha James. He was gone for three days now because of pack duty and tonight, he's back and I prepared this moment to make the surprise more engaging for him.

Together with the maid of the pack, we prepared a small surprise for Alpha James. Once he entered the house, we were going to surprise him with the news about my pregnancy.

“Luna Emerald, your husband is finally here!” I stood up immediately when I heard Vivian, my personal maid informed me about Alpha James. 

“I'm coming!” I responded, wearing my sweet smile.

For the last time, I look at myself in the mirror to finally check my face. I smiled as tears fell from my eyes. The glow in my face looks so obvious. This day is the best day that has ever happened in my life and I will not let anyone ruin this moment.

I walked out of my room with my pounding heart. The happiness on my face cannot be hidden anymore. I feel so excited to see my husband again and show him what I've got for him.

However, I didn't expect what just happened next. The happiest day of my life has become a nightmare when I started hearing speculations about Alpha James. Despite that, I never entertained anything because I know none of it is true. The wolves in this pack don't like me. I won't be surprised if they made up a story about Alpha James.

At least, that's what I believe as of this moment, but when I arrived at the living room, all the maids looked up at me. They bowed their heads as if no one wanted to talk to me. 

I got scared. I can feel my nerves shaking to know the problem.

“Where's Alpha James?” I asked, my heart beating so fast.

“W-We think this is not the best moment to surprise Alpha James, Luna Emerald,” Vivian uttered in her sad voice.

I crossed my arms, not minding the fears in my heart.

“There are commotions outside that Alpha James is not alone. He found her, Luna Emerald. Alpha James found his mate and everyone knew it already.”

I stepped back when Vivian continued. Tears gradually fell from my eyes. My heart even feels so tight. I can't believe what I just heard from them.

I prayed for this day not to come. I prayed that Alpha James' real mate would not come because once he found her, it would be my downfall. I would be dead.

Even though it's so painful, I smiled at the maid and walked away from them. I don't want to believe in them yet, not unless I proved this by myself. Vivian followed me, begging not to see Alpha James, but she couldn't stop me. I need to see my husband. I need him to confirm this.

It was real. Alpha James had finally found her. I could feel the eyes of the wolves in my direction. I wasn't looking at them but I know they are talking about me. They are talking about Alpha James' newly found mate.

It was confirmed.

He brought his mate. I had finally seen them. I could feel my heart shattering into pieces when they turned their heads at me.

“James…” I took a deep breath before continuing my words. “How true?”

James walked in my direction. His gaze was threatening me. I can feel it. I can see it. I haven't gotten his response yet, but seeing the woman behind him, it's breaking my heart into pieces.

“You're not going to create a scene here!” James uttered this through a whisper. I bit my bottom lips to stop my tears from falling down. 

It's so painful because James didn't ask my permission first. He brought this woman without asking me if it's okay with me.

“It's you who's making a scene. They are talking about us. Can't you see it?”

James shook his head. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away from his newly found mate.

“We already talked about this before getting married. You know that once I find her, our marriage will be denied!” 

The tears that I was keeping from earlier streamed down. I can't control myself anymore. James is hurting me. Bringing his mate here without my prior knowledge is a betrayal to me.

“No, you have to bring her out of this pack, James. I am still your wife and Luna!” 

I was praying that everything I saw and heard were not real because I don't know how to accept this. I don't know how to live this.

“You should accept that I finally found her. Therefore, you better behave, or you won't like what I can do to you, Emerald Howard.”

I feel scared of Alpha James. I've never seen him mad, but I won't let that make me give up. I have to fight and now that I have a child. Alpha James will still reject his mate once he found out about our baby.

Using the back of my hands I wiped my tears and watched the Alpha go back to that girl, his newly found mate. Our child is my last hope to keep this family. I'll try my best to fight for my husband and for my family. She can't ruin us, I promise.
