FagelI was finally caught.I had run as fast as I could, but I was outnumbered and outmatched. The guards tackled me to the ground, and they beat me mercilessly, throwing painful blows and kicks to my face and my eyes were blurry with blood, tears and mucus. The rest of the guards recognized me as a slave, and to make matters worse, they accused me falsely of stealing and treason against the Luna. TasyraIt had been one week after Fagel's shameful banishment and I still felt guilty and lonely. All the other slaves and servants had avoided me like a plague. Nobody wanted to get into trouble because of me. The absence of Fagel weighed heavily on my heart, and the guilt I felt didn't seem to fade. The Luna had increased my workload and reduced my food rations, so I was always tired and looking older than my age. Hunger had become my close companion and dry throat a usual thing.
