Chapter 26

We soon arrived at our hotel lodge. It was about a mile from the mountain. I pulled up to the lodge and a worker immediately came to help us with our luggage.

After he had called another to carry it to our room, I went to the front seat and scooped the sleeping Sierra in my arms. She let out a tiny moan as she got comfortable in my arms. A chauffeur took my car to the parking lot.

I held her close to me as I followed the staff to our room. They left our bags, did a slight bow, and left after wishing us a good night.

I gently and quietly walked to our room and laid her on the bed beside mine. She shifted a bit then I took off her cardigan, shoes, socks, and sweater to let her have some breath. I pulled the blanket over her to cover her and she snuggled with it.

This is honestly the cutest thing I’ve seen in all my years of living.

Should I wake her up to wash up? Nah, she’ll be fine. She must be tired.
