Mystery Man

I called Aria, it barely even rang before she answered

“Where are you? I can’t find you in your room. I’ve been trying to reach you since last night” she shouted through the phone.

I had to take the phone away from my ear in consideration of my eardrum.

“What do you mean? I asked baffled “I’m in the room you told the worker to take me to”

“No you’re not!!” Aria spat “I’m currently in the room I paid for you and you’re nowhere in sight. I’ve been worried sick trying to get hold of you since last night-“ she rambled on.

Before she could continue I interrupted “What do you mean? I’m in the room the worker brought me to, unless!!” I let out a soft gasp

“They took you to another room”

“They took me to another room”

We said in unison.

“Calm down first, go check your room door and tell me the number, I’ll come find you” Aria said

I could hear movement, she was on her way across her room in seconds and before I knew it I heard her door swing open.

“On it” I said as I picked up my shirt and walked to the door.

“5001” I said as I walked back into the room after checking the room number on the door plate.

I heard a soft gasp from the other end of the phone.

“What is it?” I asked

“We are in big trouble” Aria replied in panic

“What does that even mean?” I asked confused

“Only the top 1percent can afford the 5000 room line, we are in big trouble. How are we going to pay for it?”

I could feel how tense Aria was, from the phone

“I’ll be there in a bit.” She said and ended the call.

I just stood there dumbfounded. What was going on exactly, was the worker paid by last night’s man to bring me here? Now that I thought about it, it seemed very likely.

A few minutes later I heard a knock at the door, I strolled over and opened the door as Aria walked in.

She looked at me with shock in her eyes.

“Are those hickeys??????”

My hand went straight for my neck as I looked down, a nervous blush creeping up my neck.

“Oh! My! God!” Aria screamed as she dragged me to the bed.

“Sit!!” She said tapping the space beside her.

I sat down nervously.

“Spill, what happened last night?” she asked with a big grin on her face.

My ears turned red as I thought of the mysterious man from last night. Aria caught my expression and a knowing smirk began to form on her face.

“You’re totally reminiscing aren’t you?” She said all giddy with excitement.

I explained everything that happened to her and her jaw went slack.

“Wtf!! This is big” she let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding.

“What is?” I asked in confusion.

“You have an admirer“

“More like a stalker” I let out a scoff. “He knows things that no one else knows about me, it’s creepy”

“Creepy enough for you to fuck him” Aria retorted an amused smile on her face.

I took the pillow and threw it at her.

“That’s not how it happened, I-“ she cut me off mid sentence

“Yes yes, it was the alcohol. I believe you” she said with so much sarcasm that i was speechless.

“But that’s what happened, and you know it” I tried again.

“Yh I do, absolutely” she said not even trying to hide her delight.

Just then my phone beeped, I checked.

A text message.

Aria moved over to peek at the text.

It read “You can stay in the room for as long as you want, don’t worry about the cost. I’ve got it covered”

A soft gasp escaped my lips as I read it.

We both raised our heads at the same time to look at each other, as if confirming we read the same thing.

“This guy seems loaded” Aria started “No wonder you slept with him, I would too” she completed, giving me a wink.

I just wanted the ground to open and swallow me whole.

“What does he look like?” Aria asked.

“ I don’t know, either I don’t remember or I didn’t see his face clearly last night” I replied

“Name?” She asked, hope gleaming in her eyes

“I don’t know either” I sighed in resignation

“Well, Your Mr Anonymous seems to like you, otherwise he wouldn’t have investigated you this much” she started “Don’t you think?”

I was about to reply when I got another beep. A bank notification.

That’s strange, I wasn’t expecting money.

I opened the text and I miraculously had a million dollars more.

I let out a scream of astonishment.

“What is it?” Aria asked.

I showed her the screen and she gasped in horror.

“Is it a scam? Who’s the money from?” She said with shaky breath”

“I don’t k-“ the words hadn’t even left my throat before my phone started ringing.

It was the unknown number.

The same one who just texted me to let me know that I could stay in the room for as long as I wanted.

I looked at Aria, she urged me to pick up and I did, hesitantly.

“H- Hello?”

“Hi Chris”

A smooth, deep sexy voice came through the phone.

The same voice that had me pinned under him last night.

My mind began wandering again, back to those broad shoulders, those lush pink lips.

Aria snapped her fingers in front of me.

“You’ve been quiet for sometime, he’s talking to you” she said.

“Sorry, you were saying?” I asked

“I sent you the money so you can get yourself things you need. I know you left the Cain mansion with nothing” he said without missing a beat.

Before I could reply, the line went dead.

I tried calling back, it didn’t connect.

I looked at Aria, the confusion written all over my face.

“Oh! My! God! You’re so blessed, you leave one hell hole and you’re presented heaven at your feet. I’m so happy for you”

“Don’t say that, I don’t want another relationship, at least not yet” I tried to argue

“Too late for that don’t you think?” She asked “you’ve already slept with him, you could at least get to know him before you decide if you should give him a chance or not.

Oh and get dressed, let’s go back to the hospital” Aria said, pulling me up and leading me towards the bathroom.
