Chapter 10

When the bell rang at this Amelia looked at the children and said, "You all keep eating. I will go check who's at the door."

Hearing their mother's words, Ethan and Aurora nodded and continued eating, but Nick was frozen.

His face turned pale. He wanted to stop Amelia, but she had already left.

When Amelia looked through the peephole, she saw a tall man standing on the other side of the door. She couldn't see the man's face, but she could tell that many people were standing behind him.

Amelia was a little nervous when she sensed more than one presence on the other side of the door. She then looked at the children.

The children were looking at her. Amelia then gestured for them to go to the room. As soon as her mother gestured, Ethan took Nick and Aurora's hands, entered their room, and closed the door behind them.

Amelia then opened the door. As soon as the door opened, two security guards held her hands tightly.

Amelia was surprised. They were behaving as if she were a criminal. Amelia spoke up in both anger and surprise, "Let me go! What the hell are you doing?"

The security guard did not answer her question. Then the person standing in front of her asked in a deep, husky voice, "Where is my son?"

Hearing the man's voice, a cold wind ran down her spine. The man's aura clearly told that he was a powerful person. Hiding her nervousness, Amelia looked at the man and asked, "Why are you asking me where your son is? What kind of madness are you doing at my house? You can't enter someone's house like this and treat her like a criminal."

Hearing her words, the man gave a crooked smile and then said, "You can kidnap my son and hide him in your house, but I can't even ask you where my son is? I am asking for the last time where my son is. If you want your own safety, tell me where my son is; otherwise, something unimaginable will happen to you. And you will not like that."

Amelia then looked at the man and asked, "What is your son's name?"

Hearing this, Xavier said, "So you admit that you kidnapped and hid my son."

Amelia wanted to slap the person with all her strength, but the two security guards were still holding her hand.

"I did not kidnap your son; rather, I saved him from being kidnapped. Your son was sitting on the side of the road, trembling with fear. I brought him home from there.

Now you may be wondering why I didn't take him to the police station if I wanted to save him, but I think you know the answer to this question: why didn't I take him to an unknown place?"

Hearing her words, Xavier looked at the two security guards and gestured for them to release her. The two security guards immediately released Amelia.

Amelia looked at her waist and saw a red mark left by the guards. Looking at this, the abuse marks on Nick's body came to her mind.

Amelia clenched her hands in anger.

She looked at Xavier and uttered in an angry and sarcastic voice, "Is this how you treat a person? Now I understand why your son is afraid of strangers. You must treat your son just like you treat me. No wonder why your son is afraid of people. You should feel ashamed to call yourself his father."

As soon as she finished speaking, Xavier pressed her against the wall and spoke up in a dangerous tone, "I didn't come to you to learn from you how to treat my son and how I should treat my son." The vein in his hands pops out in anger. He was barely holding himself from losing his temper.

Xavier was holding her so tightly that it felt like her bones would break at any moment, but she didn't show any pain on her face and replied in an angry voice, "Alas, if you had learned this lesson from me, maybe your son's situation would have been different today."

The security guards gasped in shock at her words.

Hearing her words, Xavier became very angry. His forehead creased with anger, and his eyes turned red. He was about to say something when the phone in his pocket started vibrating.

Xaiver let go of her and took the phone out of his pocket and looked at it. His father had called.

Xavier understood that his father must have heard the news that Nick was missing. Xavier took a deep breath to calm himself down, then picked up the phone.

As soon as he answered the phone, his father William's worried voice came from the other end of the phone, "Xavier, have you found Nick?" Where is my grandson?"

Xavier ran his hand roughly through his hair and spoke up to calm his father down, "Calm down, Dad. I found Nick. He is with me"

William was relieved to hear this. Then he said, "I am sure Nick left the house because of that girl. I told you before, that girl doesn't fit to be Nick's mother."

Hearing his father's words, Xavier loosened his tie and said in a tired voice, "Dad, please, I don't want to talk about this now. I will talk to you later."

Then he hung up the call without giving his father a chance to say anything.

He put the phone back and looked at Amelia. This woman looked so familiar to him. But he can't remember where he saw her.

Amelia, looking at his restlessness, spoke up, "Your son is having lunch inside. When he finishes eating, you can take him, and before you take him, I want to talk to you about him. Come in."

Saying this more like ordering she went inside the house. Although Xavier was very angry at her behavior, he kept himself calm and entered. Because in the CCTV footage, he clearly saw that this bad-mannered woman did not cause any harm but helped his son.

The security guards standing outside were still stunned because no one had ever dared to treat their boss like this.

No one had ever dared to speak loudly in front of his boss. But today, this girl has crossed all limits.

As soon as he entered, Xavier looked around and started looking for her son. Seeing this, Amelia said, "Your son is inside the room. Sit down, I will get him."

Saying this, she entered the room.
