CHAPTER 4

MIA'S POV

At age 10

I open my eyes slowly to see Ethan on top of the mean kid punching him in the face over and over.

"Ethan! NO!" I stand up and try to grab his arm but

he is still beating up the kid. "Ethan please stop. He is hurt enough".

He finally stops punching the kid and spins around to look at me. He narrows his brown eyes and the only emotion I see is pure rage. His shoulder are moving up and down and he is breathing heavily.

The only thing I can think to do is to try and calm him down. I have never seen him so angry. Yes, he has anger issues and gets mad a lot but it's nothing like this.

I close the space between us and wrap my arms around his neck. His sweet smell of peppermint and cinnamon radiates around me. Ethan buries his head in the crook of my neck.

"Honey." he whispers.

"What?"

"Honey and Caramel. It's what you smell like and it's so calming."

I pull away and stroke his cheek with my thumb. "You smell like Peppermint and cinnamon. It's also calming to me also. "

Ethan pulls me back in and buries his head in the crook of my neck again. We just stand there holding each other until he pulls away and out a strand of my brown hair behind my ear. His chocolate brown eyes staring into my hazel eyes.

"You know I will always protect you,Mia. You are my best friend and I just.... I can't lose you. "

I lay my head on his chest as rubs my back. " You are also my best friend Ethan. Don't worry you will never lose me."

I'm not sure how long we stand there holding each other but we are pulled apart when both our parents rush up. I feel a strong grip on my arm. The first voice I hear is Alpha Kai's.

"What is the meaning of this?". He yells while pulling me away from Ethan.

"LET ME GO NOW DAD." Ethan tries to yank from his dad's grip but he is unable to. He is no match for his strong Alpha dad.

"You dare challenge me boy" The Alpha yells at Ethan and let go of my hand dropping me to the ground.

My dad also tightly grips my hand and pulls me up but not letting me go.
