“Maybe I was naive. Perhaps I didn't know the world like I thought I did. Maybe I wasn't lucky enough. Love? It destroyed me in the worst way possible.”

~Zara POV~

It was late in the afternoon when I received a message from an unknown number. I stared at it, wondering if the words were true or if the person was playing a prank on me. This was the seventh message I had received in the past months…or perhaps a year. This time, it included an address and pictures. The address I knew too well. It was the same house my husband had gifted me before we got married. On my other hand, I held the results. These were the results I thought would change everything…the proof of a new life that would bridge the gap between my husband and me.

“Madam, please, you're not allowed here! Who are you?” a woman shouted as she tried to stop me from entering the house. I pushed through her using all my strength. She appeared to be the house help.

“I'll call security! This is private property!” the lady kept yelling as I hurried down the hallway, determined to reach my destination. With each step, my heart sank. I prayed for it not to be true. It shouldn't be true. I knew him. I lived with him. He told me he loved me. “Stop it!” the woman shouted, but I pushed the bedroom door open. The world went dark. I couldn’t believe it.

“Yes, ahh, fuck me, daddy… ahh, fuck me, Wilson,” the woman beneath my naked husband was moaning as he rocked into her. I thought I was seeing things. I hoped it was a dream, but it wasn't.

“Say my name, baby… ahh… you're so fucking sweet… sweeter than her, princess,” I heard Wilson say. He was moaning the very words he once used on me. They laughed.

“Oh yeah? Can she do this?” the woman asked breathlessly. She flipped Wilson onto his back and began to straddle him. I stood there, pale, my brain struggling to register the scene.

“She can't… she's so fucking lazy,” Wilson moaned, holding the woman by her small waist. She was blonde and slim, like a model. “You're so beautiful and young, my love… mmm, you feel so good… ride my c**k!” They laughed as they continued. I finally regained my wits.

“Wilson!” My voice was barely a whisper. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. He turned. Both of them turned. They looked shocked to see me, but the shock didn't last long. Wilson pushed himself up on his elbows.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Zara?” he yelled with pure disdain. The woman wiped sweat from his forehead and leaned down to kiss him. He didn't push her away.

“How could you, Wilson? How could you?” I was rooted to the spot. I wanted to run, but my legs wouldn't move.

“Get the fuck out and close the damn door!” Wilson yelled. He had no remorse in his eyes; he didn't even flinch. “Or do you want to watch me fuck huh? Is that it, Zara? You want to watch my beautiful woman do it the way you can't?” A smirk crept onto his face as he thrust upward. He grabbed the woman by her hair, positioned her on all fours, and began thrusting from behind.

“Mmm, that’s it, Daddy… Ahh… Take me…” The lady's moans erupted throughout the room. “Ahh, so fucking sweet, mmm,” Wilson moaned. His eyes stayed locked on mine, his actions shattering my heart. This wasn't the man I had been married to for five years. This wasn't the man who told me he loved me.

“You were right, baby,” the woman said between moans. “She's so ugly… mmm, so plain. A CEO like you deserves a beautiful woman!” They continued as if I were invisible. I turned away, my body stiff and my legs weak. I dragged myself out of the room. The house help caught up to me and grabbed my arm.

“Sluts like you go around causing trouble,” she said bitterly. “Do you want me to lose my job?” She dragged me down the stairs with force. I couldn’t even defend myself. I glanced around the house and saw three children playing…two boys and a girl. One looked to be the same age as my daughter, Ivy. The other two were younger, like twins.

“Get the hell out or I'll call the police!” she tossed me aside once we were outside. I was pushed out, landing on the cold pavement with a thud. I felt a sharp twist in my abdomen. A hiss escaped my throat. Not my baby, I thought. I struggled to get up, but then I saw the blood. I was only two months pregnant. I couldn't lose this child. My vision blurred. Tears made it impossible to see clearly. I slowly made my way to the taxi I had left waiting outside, leaving the mansion behind. My husband was in there with another woman in his arms. What hurt the most was realizing he had three children with her. And the fact that she was living in the same house he made promises to me.

“Why?” My voice was nothing but an empty echo. I entered the taxi without saying a word. The car started moving. I tried to breathe, thinking I just needed to get home. But what home? The Adams mansion? It was more like hell than a home. Did they know about Wilson? Did they cover it up? All sorts of thoughts ran through me… I just wanted to disappear.

“I'll never leave you, my love…”

“You're the one for me, Zara…no one can separate us,” Wilson’s voice rang in my head; his touch felt real. His dark brown eyes staring into mine. That night he proposed, and his family was happy. I felt like a queen, with her king, but now... He lied; he betrayed me. He shattered my heart into a million pieces without remorse.

And when I arrived at the Adams mansion, my world turned dark all over again at what I found.

She looked around the ruined room, and when she looked down at herself, all hope vanished.“Oh no, oh no… this can't be,” she muttered, quickly wrapping the surrounding sheets naked body. She didn't have to think twice to know what had transpired the previous night. The sharp, stinging pain all over her skin and the throbbing ache between her legs were proof enough that she had slept with Chance.“Oh God, no.” She frantically tried to get out of bed, but the moment her foot stepped onto the carpet, she hissed in agony. She wanted to be ruined, put back together, and ruined all over again.“You're looking at me like you want to kill me, Zara,” Chance growled, his voice a low, gravelly rasp that vibrated straight to her core. He shifted, his bare thigh brushing against hers, and the contact was like a spark to gasoline. “Or like you want to devour me.”“Shut up,” she hissed, her voice trembling with a toxic mix of fury and pure, pure lust. “Just… shut up and make me forget.”That was the exact moment the dam broke.“Forget?” he whispered

Zara’s sneezes unsettled her as she stripped off her damp clothes. Undressing with Chance right outside the door was agonizing. Seeking privacy in the bathroom, she realized too late there was nothing to wrap herself in.“Damn it… I didn’t think this through,” she muttered, running her hands through her wet hair as she stared at her reflection in the blurry mirror. The slightest sound from the bedroom had her pulse spiking, desperately trying to cover her bare skin.“Are you okay in there?” Chance’s voice boomed from the other side. Zara’s heart skipped a heavy beat as she stepped back from the door.“Y-yeah… just… well…” she called back, her mind racing. How was she going to walk out? Outside, the rain lashed violently against the glass, and each flash of lightning made her flinch.“Zara, do you need help?” Chance, asked. Zara opened her mouth to refuse, but to hell with it. She was a grown woman; why was she letting a man make her feel this unraveled?“Umm I need something to cover m

“Mira, don't worry, I'll sort this out soon,” Zara said into her phone, trying to project a calmness she didn't feel.On the other end of the line, Mira was in a total panic. Apparently, Mrs. Kate was still throwing major tantrums at the studio.“Sweetie, it's not your fault… I'll pass by and see exactly what went wrong. Just stay at the studio,” Zara added. But it was no use; Mira was crying hysterically, blaming herself for the entire disaster. After disconnecting the call, Zara set her phone on the kitchen table. She placed two glasses of fresh orange juice onto a tray and carried it toward the stairs. She needed to get to Mrs. Kate’s private estate as soon as possible to damage-control the situation. As she reached the top of the stairs, the sound of bright giggles and cheers echoed down the hallway. It was Ivy. Zara paused, her heart swelling; this was the first time her daughter had laughed like that since being discharged from the hospital. Lately, Ivy had been constantly cryin

“Are you seriously drinking now?” Andy asked, his brows arching as he watched Chance gulp down his whiskey without breaking rhythm. The bar wasn't fully packed, just a scattering of patrons nursing their drinks in the dim light. Andy narrowed his eyes, pouring himself another beer. “I've never seen you like this before…”Chance didn't answer. His sharp eyes remained fixed on the amber liquid in the bottle before him.“You still won't talk?” Chance asked after a heavy silence, casting a sharp side-glare at his friend.Andy let out a long sigh, shifting his weight in his chair. “Zara is different,” he started, his voice laced with an underlying irritation. “She cares about people… too much. One would say she’s too nice, and people take advantage of that.”“Her ex-husband?” Chance asked directly.Andy hesitated, leaning forward across the table. His voice dropped to a low growl. “I'm not in the right place to say this… but if I ever see that son of a bitch anywhere, I'm going to rip him
