Masuk~Zara POV~
Two(2) years later
“It has two bedrooms, a kitchen…decent enough…a little study room…not so classy, and finally a quiet garden,” Kaden said as she turned around with a smile. I was occupied walking around; the place wasn't bad, a little dusty with broken furniture and torn walls, but nothing I couldn't fix.
“Thank you so much, Kaddy… I don't know what to say.” I was almost in tears after a long time of searching and running. I finally moved to a small town, far away from everything.
“Don't mention…you know…college days…come on, Zara, don't be like this,” Kaden said happily as she moved around too. I couldn’t help but feel bad. Kaden was one of those people I rarely talked to back in college; she was a good girl. Savage yet lovely. Who would have thought the same girl I ignored would move mountains to help me?
“You're an angel sent from heaven.” I hugged her. It took one call, and Kaden already sent everything to me, her location and everything. I didn't waste time; after two years I finally found a place that I could hide away forever.
“Hey…don't make this old girl cry,” Kaden pried her off while wiping her tears, and we both chuckled in between muffled sobs.
“It's a nice place, a great neighborhood, and quiet like you wanted it,” Kaden remarked as she picked up an old dead bird and tossed it out the window. The house looked like it hadn't been occupied for years.
“Well, it really needs a thorough cleanse… a lot of fixing. I can call Andy for you…he's great with tools.” Kaden turned while pulling out a broken chair. I smiled as I walked around. I didn't mind. As it was, this was my forte, my field of work.
“That's not needed; I've got it,” I said. The place was rusty, but in no time I would fix it.
“Are you sure…it's a bit…” Kaden hesitated, and I chuckled at her worried expression. She was concerned for no reason.
“Hey, I've got it…you've helped me far enough…this one is on me.” I didn't want to burden her for long, after all she did for me and Ivy. I could only repay her.
“Fine, you stubborn bird…you know my restaurant…just downtown, on the left…pass by tomorrow.”
“You're such a darling.” I hugged her when she stopped midway.
“Umm, Ivy can stay with me for a while, I mean, until you…” Kaden started while looking around the dusty place. I chuckled, knowing she was really concerned.
“No, it's fine… I thought you had somewhere to go,” I reminded her with a frown, and she nearly jumped out.
“Oh shoot, I need to get back to the restaurant… I'll see you tomorrow…and call me if you want anything.” Just like that, Kaden left, and the house fell into silence. It had gone dark; it was a long trip. I sighed as I removed some broken wood and more dead, dry birds.
“Mommy, Mommy, I found this!” Ivy came running down the small stairs that led up to the bedrooms. She was carrying a stuffed penguin doll.
“Young lady, put that away.” I snatched the dusty old doll away from her, and she pouted. “Come on, let's see if we can fix your room,” I said as I dragged her upstairs. She was frowning even more… I chuckled as we ascended the stairs until we came to the first room on the right. It hadn't been easy to make Ivy forget her father, she called out his name every night with tears in her eyes. I didn't know what to do.
“So this will be Mommy's room.” We entered the room. It wasn't big but cozy enough. It wasn't as dusty as the living room.
“Do you like it, sweetie?” I asked as I moved towards the window. I saw various houses on our way. I wondered about our new neighbors. Maybe I'd greet them after I settled down. I scanned the outside when I caught something. The house next door, I saw the light on in one of the rooms upstairs. The curtains were apart, and then…
“Oh no,” I froze in place at what I saw. I couldn't look away even if I tried. A man, tall and muscular with broad shoulders, completely naked with two naked, thick women. He had one leaning against something, and he was thrusting from behind intensely, slapping the woman's ass so loudly. The other woman was shamelessly touching him while he fondled her breasts. I could hear their loud moans, the nasty curses. The man turned, and our eyes met for a moment when I quickly moved away, closing the curtains rapidly.
“How shameless!” I spat out with disdain. My breathing had increased. How could that man be so shameless as to have sex in such an open place?
“How disgusting,” I was irritated when…
“Mommy, is something wrong?” Ivy asked, jerking me back to reality. She tried to go to the window when I grabbed her.
“Sweetie, let's go see your room,” I said, picking her up in my arms. I couldn’t let my daughter see such shameful acts. I needed to move from here.

The first thing I did when morning came was rush to Kaden’s restaurant. It was a few blocks away and a walkable distance. It was early in the morning, and the neighborhood was quiet. I had darted my eyes around the house next door, still loathing that filthy manwhore. When I arrived, Kaden was already there, although the restaurant was not yet open.
“Oh, look at you, so beautiful…such beautiful skin…you have to tell me your tricks, Zara,” Kaden squealed like she always did whenever she saw me. I felt shy; there was nothing. No beauty when I couldn't keep a man. I had cut my hair after I left Wilson and dyed it a deep blonde color.
“Stop, Kad…” I felt shy, but Kaden only giggled, and I picked up a cloth and started helping her clean.
“You don't have to do this, you know,” Kaden said while we cleaned. She was the only one around. I guess her helpers weren't yet in.
“It's the least I could do…before I…” I muttered. I had plans to set up my agency. All I needed was a place, and Kaden said she had one in mind.
“I know, but the other things…are you sure… I know it's not a good place, but…” Kaden said as she stopped midway. I sighed, scrubbing the surface of the table even more with force.
“I can't stay there… I can't expose my…my daughter to such…perverted behavior.” I felt embarrassed just mentioning it. I already filled her in on my neighbor's situation.
“Well… That's Chance for you,” Kaden chuckled. She told me my neighbor's name was Chance, a single man. Of course he was a manwhore.
“He's a pervert, disgusting…sinful…ahh!” I lacked words to describe him. He was what I loathed more than anything. Kaden continued laughing as if what I was saying was funny.
“Chill, baby girl…breathe… Chance is…well…different, but I promise…he's a sweetheart,” Kaden commented while laughing even more.
“He's shameless…a manwhore. I…” I was furious when I noticed Kaden was looking towards the door.
“Speak of the devil, and he shows up,” Kaden said with a smirk when I followed her gaze and my heart thumped. There he was, the same shameless man walked in. He was in his joggers attire. He strode in like some god, holding his phone in his other hand while he removed the cords from around his neck.
“Hello there, beautiful lady,” he said. His voice was deep and husky, and his sandalwood scent invaded my nostrils. As I watched him hug Kaden, she only giggled when he cast me a glance.
Zara’s POV I stood to the side like the rusted third wheel of a lovely couple. The so-called Chance was busy flirting with Kaden, who hadn’t stopped blushing like a schoolgirl. I scoffed internally, the sound echoing in the hollow space of my chest. “You know I can’t only eat your food,” Chance said playfully. He caught Kaden’s hand, pressing a lingering kiss to her knuckles. She beamed, practically radiating a glow that made my eyes ache. “I know, my love… and I have your food ready. All you have to do is sit and wait for me,” Kaden giggled. I wanted to reach out, grab her arm, and drag her away from this man. He felt like a predator wrapped in expensive cologne and practiced charm. “That’s my girl,” he murmured. Slowly, he turned his head toward me. I averted my eyes immediately, but I could feel the weight of his gaze…it was heavy, like a physical pressure against my skin. “Won’t you introduce me to your… new friend?” Kaden grabbed my hand and yanked me forward. My eyes met hi

~Zara POV~ “Look at her… even a dog has more privilege than her,” one of the servants scoffed, her voice carrying easily across the tiled hallway. “Ahh, she's such a pretender… I can't believe she cheated on Mr. Wilson… such a disgrace,” another one chimed in. I could feel their disdainful gazes on me as I mopped the floor. My knees were blistered with sores that I entirely ignored. The physical pain was nothing compared to the weight in my chest. One of them knocked over a flower vase and it shattered to the floor, the water splashing everywhere including the parts I just cleaned. “She's just a mere servant… we are even more valuable than her… how embarrassing,” the servants continued with their assault as I went through my daily routine. I had to clean the mansion, scrub the floors, and cook for the entire family, the choice I made in exchange for my daughter's treatment money. My stomach ached with a sharp, lingering pain from the loss of my pregnancy, yet I pushed myself up.
~Zara POV~ I wiped my tears as I got out of the taxi. As usual, the mansion was quiet, with a few guards around and servants tending to the garden. I ignored the sharp pain in my abdomen as I pushed the doors to the mansion open. I didn't know how to act or how to explain to the family that Wilson not only cheated on me, but he also fathered three children outside our marriage. However, as soon as I entered the hallway, I was greeted by the Adams family. The entire family was there, a silent jury gathered in the hall room. My father-in-law, Vincent Adams, stood at the center, his face a mask of aristocratic fury. “Mr. Adams, I'm sorry, but Wilson…” I started but I froze. A heavy slap landed across my face. The blow didn't come with a shout; it came with the terrifying speed of a man who felt he was cleaning a stain. My head snapped back, the metallic tang of blood blooming in my mouth as I stumbled. “Mommy!” I heard my daughter’s sweet voice call out to me. I didn't cry as I
“Maybe I was naive. Perhaps I didn't know the world like I thought I did. Maybe I wasn't lucky enough. Love? It destroyed me in the worst way possible.” ~Zara POV~ It was late in the afternoon when I received a message from an unknown number. I stared at it, wondering if the words were true or if the person was playing a prank on me. This was the seventh message I had received in the past months…or perhaps a year. This time, it included an address and pictures. The address I knew too well. It was the same house my husband had gifted me before we got married. On my other hand, I held the results. These were the results I thought would change everything…the proof of a new life that would bridge the gap between my husband and me. “Madam, please, you're not allowed here! Who are you?” a woman shouted as she tried to stop me from entering the house. I pushed through her using all my strength. She appeared to be the house help. “I'll call security! This is private property!” the l
