Chapter Six

First Person’s Perspective

Carlos

I pushed open the workshop door, the familiar smell of oil and metal hitting me like a wave. My body ached from the day’s work, my hands coated in grease and grime, and my mind kept drifting back to Sasha.

But I shook my head, trying to focus on the present.

Allen ran to me, his small arms wrapping around my leg.

“Daddy! Can we play before dinner?” he asked, his wide eyes full of hope.

I knelt down and ruffled his hair.

“Sure, buddy, we can. But first, dinner, okay?”

Alcohol. And something else, another man’s cologne.

“Finally!” Saraya’s voice slurred slightly as she stepped in, one heel clicking loudly on the wooden floor. She swayed just a little, brushing past Allen without a glance.

Chapter FiveFirst Person’s Perspective Carlos“Daddy! Who is that nice lady?” My son, Allen asked I glanced at the direction she left through one more time and turned to him. “Um…” “Do you know her?” I didn’t even know what to tell him ‘Yes, she used to be my wife but I chased her away for someone else’?“I dont think I know her son” came my very lame response. If you didn’t know her….”“Buddy, you heard her when she said she didn’t remember me right? She does look like someone I used to know, but she’s not… now let’s go home, it’s almost time for your swimming practice “ he nodded reluctantly I tried to busy myself the rest of the day, maybe then the thoughts of her would leave my head, but I was sorely mistaken I saw her face in everything I did, I couldn’t concentrate in anything else at allEven when I decided to take a nap, I dreamt of her “Sorry, Do I Know You

  • My Billionairess   Episode Four

Chapter Four - First Person’s Perspective - ~Amanda~ I walked away from Carlos with a smirk forming at the corners my lips, taking in every second of the encounter with delight and satisfaction. The confusion in his eyes, the hint of regret flashing across his face, the hurt he couldn’t quite mask—it was everything I wanted. No, everything I needed. The power I felt in that moment was intoxicating. I had envisioned this scene for years, rehearsed it in my mind countless times. Matter of fact, That’s why I went into that mall. It wasn’t a coincidence. He was my very target. I wanted him to see me, to feel my presence, to be haunted by the possibility that I wasn’t just a ghost from his past. And when I looked into his eyes, it was worth every second. I just knew I had made the right decision coming back here “Do I know you?” I had asked, feigning innocence, enjoying the way he stumbled over his words. The perfect performance and I deserved an Oscar for it The smirk faded as I t

I rolled on my sides, my eyes still shut, the scorching pain radiating in my head, stirs a feeling of hopelessness in me I try to remember how I had gotten into this situation in the first place, but my head is blank. Nothing comes up. "Maleek, her fingers shook, I think she's awake" I hear a voice say, this time it's clearer and I can hear it just beside me, I peeled my eyes open. Though my sight is blurry, I still take in my surroundings. Two pairs of eyes are staring down at me with a mixture of curiosity and concern I rise up from the bed, turning my head around, "where is this place?" I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper I struggled to sit up, my vision still blurry, but I saw two figures standing beside me. The first thing I noticed were their eyes, full of concern, and something else... curiosity? They looked at me lik

Chapter Two-*First Person's Perspective*~Amanda~The soft beeping of the monitor beside me was enough to pull me out of Dreamland, I turned my head to the opposite direction, and groggily opened my eyes. The throbbing pain in my head, a reminder of the nightmare I had come to face yesterday. My body jolted upright the moment I remembered why I was here in the first place. "Hey, Amanda. You're awake" Emily's soft voice said, her hands gently pressing on my shoulders to ease me back down . "What happened?" I asked, tightly grabbing on her hand, "What happened to my baby? Is he okay? Is he alright?" My voice shook and Emily's calm expression faltered for a moment Emily was Carlo's little sister. And even though she was just sixteen years old, she was still my very good friend, she understood me very much "I'm sorry, Amanda, I'm sorry, but he didn't make it" she turned her gaze away and I could see her struggling to hold back her tears. I went numb for a few seconds, and then everyth

Chapter One*First Person's Perspective*~Amanda~I walked out of the hospital, my heart filled with joy. I couldn't wait to inform Carlos that he was about to become the newest father in town. I had been waiting for this news, since the past five years of my marriage. I felt really nervous as I pulled up in the driveway, thinking about the reaction I would get from him.A small smile appeared on the corners of my lips as I imagined the smile on his face when I dropped the news.My mind was preoccupied with the different ways that I could drop the news to him, maybe over a special dinner? That sounds just right. However, as I walked into our not so big, but decent apartment, I heard voices, soft little whispers and laughter, coming from the direction of our bedroom, this made my brows creased in confusion. No one was supposed to be home at this hourI walked up the staircase in hurried footsteps. When I approached the door, I began to tiptoe to avoid attention from the burglarsI pres
