Chapter 5

I couldn't remember how I left that day.

What I did recall was Chase lost control that night.

I was unable to move even a bit the whole night.

After that incident, he didn't visit me for a long time.

I took a few days off, dedicating myself to taking care of my mother at the hospital.

During one late night, a hand reached into my collar.

Startled, I suddenly woke up.

It was Chase.

I never expected him to visit me there.

"Evelyn, I can't wait any longer."

He grabbed my chin roughly. He seemed to be drunk.

"Mark my word. You are a mistress, so be a good girl. No more tantrums are allowed."

He began to unbutton my clothes.

'This was a hospital!

'My mother was sleeping on the bed next to me.

'This must be stopped. She mustn't know what was between me and Chase!'

I pleaded, whispering, "No. Not here. Anywhere else but here."

He sneered, seemingly satisfied with my compromise.

He caressed my lips and asked, "When will you say something I'd like to hear?"

I lowered my head
