Within seconds one of his men placed a bottle of wine alongside two glasses on the table beside me and left without a word. I dint wait for Liam to move, I filled one of the glasses silently, standing by the table with almost shaky legs. The strong smell hit me first.
“You sure this is a good idea? You have never drunk before” he said as a matter of fact. I dint even bother to wonder how he came to know that, but he was right I never taken more than a sip of the alcoholic beverages, which was enough to develop a strong dislike for them. I dint want to ponder over my dislike to the liquid filled in the glass, I gulped the contents only to, cough up at the foreign liquid making its way into my system. Without even thinking, I refilled my glass again.
“Ana!” Liam shuffled towards me. I held up my finger, pouring the next glass full down my throat, feeling his eyes on me all along. I stood there looking down at the empty glass for a long time. T
I slowly blinked my eyes open. I was lying on my stomach, my face comfortably pillowed. I lifted my heavy throbbing head and struggled to get the brown flood of hair that cascaded my face. As soon as I parted them my eyes fell on the dreamy blue eyes staring straight at me. Shit! I sat upright with a sudden jerk and blinked widely at him.“Why do you keep doing this?” I asked in a sleep tight voice. His eyes widened as the stormy irises turned darker, it looked as if he struggled to keep his eyes on my face. He blinked suddenly and springed up to his feet grabbing the extra blanket folded by his side.“You…” he cleared his throat flustered.“You should” he walked straight towards me and covered me with the blanked leaving just my head. I frowned.“Freshen up, I’ll wait outside” he said too quickly and left hurriedly. Last night’s events flooded me in a whi
I couldn’t avoid his eyes for long. I peeked up at him to find shock, confusion and concern flit in his eyes. “why?” he asked pulling his invisible mask on making it hell of a lot harder to figure out what he really is thinking. I shrugged, when I realized he was waiting for an answer. I would have answered him if I knew the reason myself. He shook his head in disbelief and guided me towards our destination. I was standing right before the door, my hands shook as I reached for the door know. I let the cold metal bite into my skin, and I tried my best to steady my breathe. “We should go back” I can hardly hear Liam’s anxious voice over my frantic heart beat. “No” I whispered, pushing the door open. The cold air creeped up my skin making it harder for me to gasp in oxygen. I pried my eyes open. Heavy drops of rain drops were pelting the glass bridge. I could hear the muffled thuds echoing in my ears. I looked up at the pitch black sky
I drew my heavy eyelids open with great difficulty. To my surprise I was lying on my back facing the ceiling. My eyes fell close as I sat up straight. It took me a moment to pull back from the dizziness fighting against my senses. My eyes fell upon the man lounging on the sofa placed few feet away from the left side corner of my bed.“Good Morning” I mumbled rubbing my eyes with my fists, trying to get rid of the grogginess. Only when the thin white film disappeared did I register his shocked face.“What?” I asked in asleep tight voice. His face bloomed into a beautiful smile. He cleared his throat and looked at me, really looked at me. His eyes started off with my, what I suppose haystack hair to my pillow flushed face, to my disheveled clothes, and finally rested on my straining eyes. I tried not to squirm under his stare.“I wonder how you mange to look so lovely despite being completely dishevel
The drizzle continued as my shoes sloshed in the puddle of water collected on the road. I couldn’t really see anything around me, it was pitch dark aside from the five feet of the road ahead, that was lit by Liam’s headlights. I don’t know where I’m but I do know that this road leads to the city. I was too blinded by anger that my legs kept moving at a brisk pace on their own accord. “Ana, wait, please” He was by my side in an instant, which irritated me further. “You just recovered from pneumonia Ana, are you insane?” He shouted over the pelts of rain drops. Actually I did forget about it, but right now I don’t care. I dint even bother glaring up at him. I have to get out of here. “Ana, I’m sorry, I…I was so enraged, I shouldn’t have said that, I’m sorry let’s get back to the car” he grabbed my wrist when I continued to walk away. I glared at him furiously. Suddenly, out of nowhere two head lights fell upon us. I stiffened looking at the car that was speedin
We were in Ethan’s mansion. I never knew he had a backyard, huge enough to station a space ship. I wish I could see the space ship, the whole thing was completely invisible. They have structured it that way so that the Jo-Haan’s could navigate in and out of earth, completely invisible. Their metal and technology has easily created a blind spot in human’s radar. The very thought was terrifying enough for me, Jo-hannians sneaking in on the humans. I shook my head to clear my thought. “I’m sorry you couldn’t see it” Ethan said looking down on me his eyes always finding mine and staying there. As if he couldn’t bear to lose sight of me not even for seconds. “Its ok” I said with a smile. No one is supposed to know my arrival. Only few important people does. As almost all Jo-Haanian ships be it goods carrying one or the one’s that transport people, are invisible, so that no one can know the whereabouts of the aristocrats journey. He led me
The first thing that hit me was the sky…it was completely purple no clouds and their main star that he mentioned as… “Juan” Ethan murmured slowly. It was four times bigger than sun completely white. I blinked through the glasses Ethan made me wear. “It’s beautiful” I whispered looking down. He smiled at me and towed me down in a brisk pace. His eyes instantly alert, his form stiff in nervousness. “The quicker we get inside the better...I will take you around when things settle down a bit I promise” I kept up with him. We were making our way up an invisible ramp now. I guess we were almost to the door of the invisible ship that carries the queen and few others. As we hit a stable base surface everything became visible again. Standing right before us was a beautiful woman dressed in very simple clothes. Her blonde hair flowed down in ringlets till her waist. It was her grey eyes that made my heart leap a beat. She was so beautiful. “Your majesty” I bowe
Today Dad and Clare are coming to Jo-Haan. I’m so anxious, standing on the space ship paddock waiting for the door to slide open. There have been so many riots recently…the door slid open jerking me from my anxiety. There they were standing like two frozen figures on top of the steps. As soon as they saw me they rushed towards me. I could see Clare’s tears as she was almost in my hand’s reach. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open as she was about to say something everything around me froze. My eyes scanned her to find what has triggered the horror in her eyes. Then I noticed the two punctures right where her heart should be. I blinked. My dad who was just few feet behind her fell to the ground as Clare fell right before my eyes. The scream that escaped my lips shattered everything around me. I gasped. I gasped like a fish out of water tank and still couldn’t get enough air. I’m sure I will die I will die soon cause I deserve it. I should die for risking their lives. I dese
Ethan and I were fully dressed to have breakfast with the other royal members of Jo-Haan. Right outside my room, I found Gale, he looked couple of years younger than my father. My eyes lit up as he smiled down at me. Without sparing a second thought I hugged him. He has been a constant silent presence in my life since I met Ethan. I guess he was appointed by Ethan to ‘ensure my safety’. “It’s good to see you Gale” I said earnestly as I stepped back. He was completely taken back, he quickly schooled his features and smiled down at me. “It’s good to see you too, M…Ana” he completed with a smile when I narrowed my eyes. “Sir” he said and with a curt nod at Ethan. “Gale” Ethan said with a slight dip of his chin. We briskly made our way through the corridors without being interrupted by anyone. As soon as we entered the room everyone rose. The long dining table was adorned with plates and glasses and candles giving it a vintage look. There were almost twenty chairs on either side of the
