Meeting Henry after five years

Maria could sense a lot of hostility between the two of them. No wonder Lucia had given her such a ruthless task as soon as she had seen Ashley.

Lucia's lips curved up into a gentle smile. "Yes, I like this job. She turned to Maria and said, Miss Maria, Ashley is my very good sister. Please take care of her for my sake, okay?"

Maria eyed Lucias pretentious attitude but she had no choice but to respond to her Miss Brown. It is wonderful for you to trust me with your very good sister. Be sure that I would take very good care of her for your sake she said playing more emphasis on the I would take good care of her for your sake  

                                                                                                                                                    Ashley had already known that it wouldn't be easy for her to develop her career in Cariville Country. Since she in the Browns territory specially under the care of their precious little miss because she know that Lucia should have the recognized as the Eldest and the only miss of the Brown family in her absence. 

In fact, she had initially reserved another person to be her agent, but that person had another matter to attend to at the last minute, so the Starlight Entertainment Company had assigned Maria to be her new agent instead. 

Ashley had accepted it, but because she was short on time, she hadn't had the chance to investigate Maria's background yet .Anyway, it didn't matter. Ashley decided to accept this challenge!

"Lucia" A familiar, gentle male voice reached their ears. A refined young man walked towards Lucia and casually put his hand on her waist and pecked her on her fore-head.

It was Henry!

Five years had passed, but here he was with Lucia. He did not even bother look back to search for her or ask about her well-being

From the day she had left, Ashley had known that things would turn out this way, but she still felt a little sad seeing it in person.

Her impeccable armor revealed some flaws at this moment. The sadness in her heart unwillingly seeped into her eyes.

After all, Henry was the man she had loved in her childhood and teenage years. Losing his trust at that time had been more unbearable than losing his love. Just like yesterday, she remembered everything that happened including his look of distrust, it was engraved on her heart. It was a knot that can never be untied.

 Although many years had passed, the pain of being distrusted by the ones she loved still lingered in the depths of her heart.

"Mr. Thompson, you are so considerate of your fiancé! You come to pick Miss Brown up every time. Maria said to Henry with envy and turned to Lucia You are so lucky, Miss Brown Maria gushed with admiration in her eyes.

“Fiancé" Ashley muttered under her breath. She never thought they would have progressed that quickly as a look of pain appeared in her eyes and left quickly as it appeared. She cautioned herself not to show weakness in front of the shameful duo.

She is back to be strong, stronger than before; Ashley affirmed this statement in her heart and she felt her body souring with a warm feeling spreading round her body from her heart; and she looked ahead with a strong look of determination.

  

When Henry shifted his gaze and noticed Ashley standing in front of him, a trace of an unknown emotion flickered in his eyes. The last time he had seen her was five years ago. It seemed that Ashley was back.

She was still as bright and elegant as before. She still looked absolutely stunning and confident. Lucia was beautiful too, but in a fragile and vulnerable way. Ashley is a beauty and Lucia's beauty sat at two extremes.

In the past, when Henry was with Ashley, he had tried hard to resist the temptation of Lucia's tenderness and innocent look. But when Ashley had done something out of line on the day of their wedding five years ago, he had finally fallen in love with Lucia instead.

Since Ashley had willfully run away from home, their wedding was naturally called off. Before long, Henry had chosen to be with Lucia.

"Ashley, you are back" As Henry spoke, he subconsciously withdrew his palm from Lucia's waist. Although he had chosen to be with Lucia after Ashley ran away from home, he still felt guilty about it.

Lucia felt the withdrawal and she clenched her fist as she tried to suppress the hurt in her eyes. She moved closer to Henry holding the inconspicuous corner of his shirt tightly as if to convey her pain.

It then dawned on Lucia that no matter what she does, she can never out-shadow the presence of Ashley in Henrys heart and likewise her father.    

Because the truth was, he had already had feelings for Lucia before the wedding day. His emotions had constantly seesawed between Lucia and Ashley. It was not until the wedding day that he had made up his mind.

Ashley didn't respond, which was not really surprising to Henry. Lucia smiled gently and said, "Ashley, you actually picked a great time to come back. Henry and I are going to be engaged soon. You should come to our engagement party"

"Of course I will. In fact, I thought I would be participating in your wedding party this time. If you need my help, you can call on me. I would be there Ashley replied with a smile. Lucia's smile froze. It wasn't that she didn't want to hold a wedding ceremony, but that she couldn't.

Since her mother was the "home-wrecker" of the Brown family, the elders of the Thompsons family hadn't accepted their marriage. They were afraid that Lucia would bring disgrace to the Thompsons family by tainting their reputation, so they refused to accept her as Henry's bride.

Henry was a little irritated after hearing Ashley's response. As always and as usual, Ashley was too eloquent, and too clever to control.
