Chapter 01

Katherine's POV

“It's been a few days since I got that message. I know it's a prank or a message sent by mistake but I feel like it was real and someone will come for me.” I talked to myself and laughed at my stupidity and exited the door to go out for some shopping.

I reached the shop and started looking for some nice dresses for a business party which will be held this evening.

“Sir what color do you want to see?” I heard that sales girl asking a man and he was pointing at a beautiful Black with red dress. I always wanted to wear something like that but now it's already sold to someone else. I asked the sales people if they have another dress of the same model and color but they said they don't have it.

“His girl is lucky.” I whispered to myself and left the shop without buying anything as I am not satisfied with anything. I decided to spend the evening at my house itself.

I live alone and far away from my parents as my office is near to my house and easy for me to manage work and also I don't have a healthy relationship with them.

I reached home and was surprised to find a parcel placed at my door. Curious, I opened it and was surprised to find it was the same dress which I saw the man purchasing in that shop.

“Hellooo? Is anyone hiding here?” I shouted and tried to look around to find the person who is doing all these but didn't get any response. I am confused about what to do but decided to wear the dress for the party.

“You should see him. He is a nice guy.” my mother continued to brainwash me into marrying the guy they chose for me through the video call while I got ready for the party.

“I am not interested, mom. I am not responsible enough to be a wife and manage a relationship. You know right I am still not over with my traumatic and lonely school years. I am not fit for relationships.” I said to her while she looked pissed with my decision.

Earlier she used to be supportive and now all she cares about is my marriage. She doesn't even care about my feelings. I ended the call and started my car.

It didn't start. “What a great start!!” I said in irritation and tried to book a cab.

After nearly 30 minutes I got a cab and reached the party hall. I was always an introvert who hates parties. I felt sick and wanted to puke seeing all the half naked girls claiming them as business women.

They just want to seduce someone rich enough to support their business. And they started the most irritating thing of the party. They started dancing.

I hate dancing in public when everyone starts dancing and I noticed a bunch of girls throwing themselves on a guy who is busy drinking his wine.

I wouldn't see his face but I am sure that he is irritated with their presence. I was never good at talking to a guy but something in me asked me to walk towards him and talk to him.

But seeing me he stood in shock and dropped his wine glass. His face was so handsome and his dark black eyes and his curly hair attracted me to him.

I smiled and introduced myself when he excused himself and went out. All the girls gave me a mocking smile while I stood unaffected with all this.

I know I am unfit for love but this guy's reaction didn't look like rejection but he was thinking someone. I am again surprised to hear myself, an over-thinker not over thinking this situation instead understanding him like a normal person.

Few minutes later he comes back and warns all the girls to stay away from him and comes towards me. I saw the girls who smiled mockingly at me now burning in anger.

“Hi, I am Benjamin.” he introduced himself while I did something unimaginable.

“Can we go on a date tomorrow?” I felt stupid at my own question and why I am always an idiot when it comes to communication. I don't even know how to talk to someone.

And again something unimaginable happened. He agreed for the date!

“But are you sure? You just met me.” Benjamin asked me and my mind asked me to cancel the plan but I agreed and said I am ready for it.

“Can we dance?” he again asked me and I was about to say no when my hands held his and he took me to the dance floor. Everything happened so fast that I wouldn't process what just happened.

We started dancing and surprisingly I danced well. I heard many claps when we finished dancing. I felt uneasy with this attention and wanted to run away but Benjamin held me tightly just like the guy in my dream.

After the party ended, I was walking fast to avoid Benjamin as I am now a little uncomfortable with going on a date with this guy I just met.

“Hey this is my number. Text me when our date is” he said, giving me his card and after sitting inside his car.

But before going he looked at me with a smile and said they don't need to go on a date tomorrow itself if I don't want to.

“Well Let me drop you. I don't think you can get a cab at this time.” Benjamin said and I smiled at him.

“Where were you all these years?” I asked him while he was surprised with my question.

“I mean…. I” I tried to talk but didn't know what to say to cover my stupidity.

“I was a werewolf searching for my mate. But if they are not then I will eat them” I stood shocked at his statement while he showed his teeth which are sharp like werewolves teeth and he looked at me intensely.

“You are a human and werewolves can't have human mates. I guess.. You're my dinner” saying he took something while I froze to the place in shock.
