Chapter 02

Benjamin's POV

After 500 years I finally found her. My mate who can break me from my curse. Now I need to find her exact location and take her to the moon goddess. But I am confused as to why she didn't come for me a few days back when it was a full moon day and I was howling and screaming for her to hear me. I hope I didn't go to the wrong place like I did last time.

“Sofie, did you do as I told you?” I asked my secretary and best friend.

“Yes boss. Like you said I called all the young business people, especially women, to our party. But most of the women are not hardworking; they just throw themselves at rich investors or other company CEOs for their business” Sofie said while I just nodded and asked her to leave.

My sources said she is a businesswoman in this city. I wish she would just realize I am her mate and come to me herself. I looked at my and my ex mate Katherine's marriage portrait. The marriage portrait was drawn by her using her magic powers.

I need to tell my new mate that I can't think of anyone other than Katherine and the only reason I am searching for her is to break my curse and join Katherine in heaven.

I get distracted hearing a knock on the door and Sofie enters again. She is a genius in these types of investigations and helps me to find my mate. She is one of the few person who knows my werewolf truth.

“I found her address. Can we go and meet her?” Sofie asked while I nodded my head in negative.

“Let's wait till evening.” I said and realized something.

“How will I identify her? You won't be here right? As usual you will say some reason and stay away from parties.” I asked Sofie in an irritated voice while she laughed at it.

“I don't like people. Anyways we have her address. We can actually meet her.” Sofie asked but again I denied.

“It will be nice to see her at a party rather than seeing her in her house. She must have smelled me when I entered this city itself, but she didn't come for me. I don't want to look like I am desperate. Let her come to me.” I explained the reason while Sofie got into deep thought.

“What if she didn't realize her mate was here?” She asked and suddenly an idea struck my mind.

“Let me send her a designer dress. If she wears it then she smelled me and did it on purpose but if she didn't then we will meet her in her house tomorrow like you said.” I said while Sofie agreed to it.

In the afternoon I reached a boutique and got a beautiful red and black dress. But after sending it only I realized it was Katherine's favorite colors. I again signed in irritation.

Soon the evening came and all started coming for the party. Like I guessed all the girls came to me and started throwing themselves on me. I was drinking my favorite wine when I got Sofie's call.

“She didn't come. We are meeting her tomorrow and confronting her for avoiding me.” I shouted at Sofie when I smelled her.

“I think she is here." A woman entered wearing the dress I bought for my mate. I realized she is my mate but she doesn't seem to realize her mate is here too. Wait.. "Oh my God Sofie!! She is a Human and she is walking towards me!!”

I dropped the wine and cut the call when she introduced herself to me.

“Hello Sir. Guess you are enjoying.” She said looking at those girls in a sarcastic way and looked at me again.

“I am Katherine” she said and I stopped breathing. She has the same name as my Katherine. Why is this happening to me? I excused myself and went from there.

I called Sofie and asked told her everything.

“She is a Human. I can't be with her and how will she even break my curse? What will I tell her? That I am a werewolf searching for her for years and I need her to break my curse? She will laugh at me” But Sofie asked me to handle it with patience.

I again went inside to see her standing in the same place I left her and seeing something in her phone.

“Hi, I am Benjamin.” I replied while she did something unexpected.

“Can we go on a date?” She asked me and I realized she is just like other girls who try to throw themselves into me for their business.

“Sure” I agreed because I need her to break my curse. She has my Kat's name but other than that her personality doesn't match with Kat.

“But are you sure? You just met me” I asked her and again she agreed. That's it, If she wants me for her business then I need her to break my curse. Problems are solved now.

“Can we dance?” I asked and took her to the dance floor before she would reply. We danced really well and for a second I remember my Kat and our dance in our wedding. We completed our dance and my thoughts were full of my Kat's memories and realized she was walking away from the party without taking my number.

“Hey this is my number. Text me when our date is” I said casually and saw that she is trying to book a cab for herself. I asked her to tell when she wants a date and it's okay if it's not tomorrow.

I saw a relief on her face as if she was uncomfortable with going on a date with me. Was she forced to talk nicely to me for her business? I am confused but I decided to give her a ride home.

“Well Let me drop you. I don't think you can get a cab at this time.” I said while she sat beside me in my car. I felt like home after many years but didn't understand why I am feeling like this.

“Where were you all these years?” She asked me and I thought she must have realized I am her mate but when I looked into her eyes it showed pain, frustration and all types of emotions which showed pain. And then I realized she is human and she can't realize on her own that I am her mate.

“I mean…. I..” She started stammering thinking she had said something stupid but only I know how much her words made sense and pain. I decided to distract her from her thoughts as she was getting emotional.

“I was a werewolf searching for my mate. And I love to eat humans.” I said while she believed everything and looked shocked. She was looking like a cute kitten while looking shocked and I felt like kissing those round eyes.

“You are a human and werewolves can't have human mates. I guess.. You're my dinner.” I continued again and took my phone out but she thought it was something else and started hitting me.

“Go away from me. Stop the car. You can't kill me and eat me” she shouted while I started laughing at her.

She saw my phone and seeing me laughing she realized I just fooled her.

She looked embarrassed and asked me to stop the car but I already reached her address.

She opened the car door and asked me in shock that how I knew her address while I realized that I forgot to ask her address because Sofie already gave me her address. We stare at each other in shock.
