Lily Thompson

The applause was still ringing in my ears when I stepped out of the boardroom.

I barely made it two seconds in my office before someone knocked on my door

The person didn’t wait for an answer before pushing it open. Theo walked in, his eyes gleaming and a rare grin tugging at his lips. “You have no idea what you just did in there.”

I blinked. “Was that… good?”

That was revolutionary.” He stepped inside, hands tucked into his pockets. “They loved it,” he said. “Like… genuinely loved it. The board wants to meet again this afternoon to discuss full implementation of your campaign.”

My heart did a somersault. “They do?”

He nodded. “But that’s not the real kicker. They want you to sit at the table this time.”

I stared at him. “Like… actually sit at the boardroom table? Not behind it?”

Theo chuckled. “Yes, Lily. At the table. Like an actual executive.”

My throat tightened. For a second, I forgot how to breathe. The same room that once questioned if I belonged, now wanted me at the table. My hands itched to touch the wood of that boardroom table. Like touching proof that I’d made it.

For a moment, I just stood there, the weight of the moment pressing down on my chest. I wanted to cry, laugh, scream, maybe do all three.

Then Ryan appeared behind Theo, leaning on the doorframe like he’d been there a while. “Told you they weren’t ready for you,” he said, his voice warm and low.

Looks like we’re going to need to upgrade your office,” Theo said with a grin. He gave me a quick thumbs-up and left us alone.

“You okay?” Ryan asked.

I nodded, my voice shaky. “I think so.”

He stepped closer. “You didn’t just prove yourself. You shut them all up. Completely. I think Vanessa is still trying to figure out how to swallow her own tongue.”

That earned a laugh from me. God, I needed that.

I turned to Ryan, not trusting myself to speak yet. He shoved his hands in his pockets.

“So… lunch?” he asked, voice low. “Or do we celebrate with something stronger?”

I hesitated, biting my bottom lip.

“Come on… you earned it” he persuaded

“Lunch sounds good.” I finally replied, letting myself live for just a little while.

His lips curved. “I know a place.”

He took me to a quiet restaurant tucked into a rooftop garden three blocks from the office. The kind of place I’d never even think to walk into on my own. There were fountains. Waiters in vests. Cloth napkins that probably cost more than my entire closet.

Ryan,” I whispered as we were led to a private table by the glass, overlooking the skyline. “This is too much.”

“Stop saying that. You deserve every single bit of what you’re getting. It’s just lunch,” he said smoothly, pulling out my chair. “And it’s not even mine. Company card.”

I rolled my eyes, but smiled. “Still.”dered things I couldn’t pronounce but some

Ryan raised a toast: “To the woman who came back stronger than anyone expected.”

I gave him a tight smile and picked up my glass, clinking it against his. “You mean the dropout who miraculously didn’t embarrass herself today?”

He sets his glass down. “I mean the woman who keeps proving people wrong. Including me.”

Just then a voice cut in.

“Lily?”

We both turned.

The person who called out to me looked like he wasn’t sure if it was me or not. When I turned and he had a clear view of my face, he waved and walked over to us

He was tall and good looking, dressed in a navy blue suit.

I recognized him. He was in the conference room when I gave my pitch.

“Hi” he stretched out his hand for a handshake. I took his hand, smiling.

“I’m Brandon. I just wanted to say… that was one of the most insightful pitches I’ve seen in a long time. You didn’t just sell a strategy, you sold vision. People like you don’t come around often.”

My cheeks flushed. “Thank you. That’s… really kind of you to say.”

He glanced at Ryan briefly, then looked back at me. “I’d love to pick your brain sometime. We’re actually revamping our outreach division. Maybe you could weigh in.”

I nodded, still stunned. “I’d love that.”

He smiled again, gave Ryan a polite nod, and walked off. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ryan’s jaw clench slightly, his glass stilled halfway to his lips. His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes

When I turned back to Ryan, his lips had thinned.

“Well, aren’t you popular today” He stabbed a piece of steak with unnecessary force.

You okay?”

He stared at his untouched drink. “Fine.”

I smirked. “You sure? You look like you want to tear his face off.”

He finally looked up, eyes narrowing slightly. “Do you want me to?”

I blinked, thrown by the question. “What?”

“Never mind,” he muttered, pushing his plate away. “Let’s get back. Don’t want to be late for the board meeting.”

Was that... jealousy? A traitorous thrill shot through me. I absolutely should not have liked it. But I did. More than I wanted to admit.

His jaw clenched and unclenched as we walked to the car

“Thanks,” I said as he opened the car door for me.

He gets in and we start moving.

“Lily—” he starts, “I’m incredibly proud of you. And you should be proud of yourself too. What you did today was no easy feat”

I nodded, my heart melting. I stepped out, started walking away, then stopped mid-step.

I shouldn’t, but I turn back to look at him. He’s still watching me, hand gripping the steering wheel.

I walked away again, this time faster, because one more second of standing there, just watching him, and I knew I would’ve done something truly stupid. Something that could shatter both of us all over again.

Let’s take a moment and SCREAM for Lily finally earning her place at the table!! 🙌🏽✨ The pitch? Immaculate. The confidence? Unmatched. And that maroon suit? BABYYYY. She didn’t just walk into that boardroom — she slayed it. 🔥But while Lily is rising, the tension with Ryan is also boiling. • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    Dangerous Distractions

Lily ThompsonI was going to lose my mind.My body hadn’t calmed down since yesterday. Not even close. That man,Ryan, was messing with my entire nervous system. My skin felt too tight. My throat dry. My core? Flooded like a damn faucet had burst open down there and wouldn’t stop. And now here I was, at nine-freaking-thirty in the morning, legs curled up in bed with my phone in one hand, scrolling through what could only be described as the horniest section of the internet: the sex toy section. The names alone were sending me into cardiac arrest. What in God’s name was a “ThrustMaster 3000”? And why did it have attachments that looked like they belonged in a sci-fi movie? Then there was the “Bunny Bender” complete with rotating beads, pulsing ears, and something labeled “triple intensity.” Triple intensity? I was struggling with just the single intensity of Ryan’s voice in my head. There were Clitoral suction, curved shaft, rabbit ears, quiet mode…That one got a hard stare.I wasn’t ju

  • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    Too Hot to Think, Too Smart to Trust

Lily Thompson I woke up panting. My body was on fire.Every inch of me was tight, pulsing, aching for something I hadn’t even thought about in years.I pressed my thighs together and groaned softly. “Fuck”I blinked at the ceiling, chest heaving. What the hell was this?My sheets were a mess, tangled around my legs. My robe had slipped down one shoulder and my nipples were tight, pebble-hard against the cool air. Worse, so much worse, I was soaked.Down there.Soaked and throbbing and needy like I hadn’t been in six years.Six. Whole. Years.I hadn’t had sex since Isabella was born. And that had been fine. I was fine. My energy had gone into keeping Isabella safe and fed, working myself raw at three jobs just to scrape through. I hadn’t had the time or the luxury of being horny. Not once in all that time had I woken up like this—panting, aroused, craving something hard and deepUntil now.Until him.Until Ryan stepped back into my life and started ruining every shred of self-control I

  • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    Buy Time

Ryan EdwardsThe office emptied with the slow hush of after-hours, but my mind kept hammering one truth: a single half-believable excuse wasn’t enough. If Lily stayed suspicious, every glance, every question would slice a little deeper until the whole façade bled out in front of her.I needed something ordinary, something that looked like the real life of a mid-level employee who definitely didn’t own penthouses or private jets. That was why I’d rented the small apartment in the first place.Time to use it.I found Lily at her desk around six, packing her laptop. She didn’t glance up.“Hey.” I kept my tone light. “Small panic. Theo needs tomorrow’s payroll review sheets. I, uh, left the signed originals at my place.”She slid her gaze to me. “You can scan them in the morning.”“Finance needs them queued tonight. Audit window.” I held up my phone, screen lit with an exaggerated string of frantic messages from Theo (I’d drafted them to myself). “If I cab across town I’ll miss Isabella’s

  • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    Does She Know??

Ryan EdwardsShe knows.I don’t have proof, but I’ve been in too many boardrooms and survived too many interrogations to ignore gut instinct. And mine was screaming at me now.Lily knows I’m hiding something. She didn’t say anything outright. She didn’t throw accusations or slam a door. That’s not her style. But the shift in her energy since yesterday afternoon was too sharp to ignore. She was fine in the morning—flustered, yes, adorably so after our accidental sleep-cuddle—but then she went quiet. Not just annoyed, quiet. Suspicious quiet. The kind of quiet that hums with unsaid questions and unspoken conclusions. She didn’t meet my eyes. Barely mumbled goodbye as she hopped out of the car. And at the office, she avoided me with precision. At first, I chalked it up to our… proximity. Maybe she was embarrassed. Maybe she was finally drawing a line. But when I got back to my desk that afternoon, I noticed the drawer was ajar. The leather case inside—the one holding the Lang & Peregrine

  • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    Who Is Ryan Edwards?

Lily Thompson The question nagged at me: How did he afford that? And more urgently… who exactly was Ryan Edwards now? That night, I couldn’t stop thinking about the watch. Even after tucking Isabella into bed and reading her favorite book for the third time, my mind kept circling the same drain. He said he worked under Theo. That he was just another corporate man trying to get by.But nothing about that watch said “just another man.”After cleaning up the kitchen, I found myself lingering in the hallway between our rooms, unsure if I should knock. Ask. Demand. Snoop.Instead, I went to my room and flopped into bed, dragging the covers up like a shield. But sleep wouldn’t come.So I opened my journal. And I remembered.College. Junior year.It was raining. Not the romantic kind of rain either. It was one of those sleety, sideways torrents that made your socks wet and your books soggy.I had waited for Ryan for over an hour. We had plans. Big ones. I was supposed to meet his parents. In

  • My Daughter Found Me A Billionaire Husband    What He’s Hiding?

Lily Thompson I was trying to remember all the reasons I should hate him. All the pain he caused me. All the nights I stayed up wondering what I did wrong. But the memories felt slippery lately, blurred by his ridiculous smile and the way he made my–our daughter laugh like nothing else mattered. The toast popped up three minutes ago, but I still hadn’t moved.I sat at the dining table in my sleep-rumpled tee, staring at the butter knife poised above the plate, willing my pulse to slow down. It refused. Unfortunately, so did my imagination.Heat crawled through me every time my mind replayed the accidental “good-morning groping” that had happened in Ryan’s bed.I squeezed my eyes shut and felt the treacherous throb at the back of my throat.Stop thinking about him.Stop thinking about the way his stomach tightened under your fingers.Stop thinking about how hard—My thighs clenched involuntarily, and I bit out a curse beneath my breath. This was ridiculous.
