It was Ryan

"Can't we stay longer?"I asked my father.

"They've made their decision and we are to pack away from here."He replied.

"They can't just do that because of what happened"I protested.

"Try putting yourself in their shoes. If something like this happens, I'm sure you would say the same thing. We packing to another safer place, a place where people like us live."He said.

I exhaled."We can't just do this. I've spent my whole life in this house."I replied.

"It is what it is darling."He said and kept packing.

I spent my whole life in this house, and packing away from it, is something I don't want to do.

My father is right. He is right about telling me to be In their shoes, but it's not just easy for me.

There were still a lot of people outsides. The news spread like a wildfire and despite that, there are a lot of gossipers, whose mouth runs like tap water.

"Are you going help, or are you going to stand there doing nothing?"My mother asked.

"I don't know. But if standing here doing nothing is good for me, then that's what I'm going to do." I replied.

"I understand that you don't want to leave, but we have no choice. If they don't want us here, then they don't. And like I said earlier, do not listen to them, just be who you are. We are going to a more comfortable place, a place where you can transform without no one looking at you weirdly. I just hope you understand what I mean." My mother said, and continue to pack.

I sighed, she's right. They are all right, I should listen to them. It's not easy, but there's no choice.

My father was passing with three boxes in his hands, so I helped him with one.

"I'm glad you understand."He said.

I smiled. We walked outside and dropped the boxes in the truck

We entered inside and kept doing the same thing until the house was finally empty.

"We are finally done. Eighteen years of my life packed up in five hours."I said, and my parents smiled.

I looked around and saw Greg was not with us"Where's Greg?"I asked.

"He's in his room. He refused to come out, and I'm sure you are the only one that will make him."My father replied.

I walked through his stairs, and when I got to his room, I knocked softly on the door.

"You can come in Cassy."He said.

I opened the door, then entered. His room was also empty and he was sitting on the floor.

"Hey buddy, dad said you refused to come down," I said.

He was sad and I'm not expecting him to give me a quick response.

"We are packing and it's all my fault. I shouldn't have transformed."He said.

"Do not blame yourself, you did what you had to do, you fought for yourself. Things happen Greg, but you don't need to be worried 'cause you won't be bullied when we pack from here."I replied.

I know nothing about the place we are packing too, but since my both parents said it's safer, then it is.

"C'mon let's go. Mom and Dad are waiting."I said.

"Thanks for the nice words."He replied.

I smiled"It's nothing" I muttered.

We stood up and walked out of his room. We got to the sitting room and met our parents waiting.

"Everything's set. It's time to go."My father announced.

"Mom, Dad, I'm sorry for what happened. I'm sorry." Greg apologized.

"No need for that buddy. We understand, and we've forgiven you. So let's get on that truck before it gets late."My father said.

We all walked out of the house, and my father locked it.

And as we made our way to the truck, we got a lot of glares from the gossipers who stood in front of our house. They whispered to themselves, while some laughed. But it wasn't touching me, not because of what my mom said, but because of how ugly they were.

The ladies, or should I say women, used make-up, using it Isn't my problem, but the main thing is that it made them uglier, It would be great if I called Patty to correct the mistake on their faces.

We entered the truck and the driver began to drive.

**

Thirty minutes later, we got to the house. I could hear the howling. Maybe it's a gesture of welcoming us.

I opened the door and alighted from the truck, Greg did the same, while my parents stayed in.

We looked around and saw some children waving at us. They were smiling, so I had to smile and wave back at them.

Some Adults waved at us too, and we waved back at them.

We were about to enter the house when one of them ran to us.

Looking at him, I could tell he is fifteen years of age, the same age as Greg.

"I heard you are new. My name is Erik, what's yours?"He asked.

"I'm Cassy, and it's nice meeting you," I replied.

He turned to Greg"What's yours?" he asked.

"Greg"

"I can give you a tour when you are done settling. My house is opposite yours, in case you want to see me" He said.

"Okay, thank you," Greg replied, and he left.

"You see, you've made a friend. This place will be better for you."I said.

"I hope so."He replied.

We entered the house, and the dust welcomed us.

Everywhere was dusty, and it was going to take hours before we clear it all.

The house Isn't big as the previous one, but it had something I wanted.

It has stairs, I love a house which has stairs. it's one of the reasons why I liked our previous home.

Minutes later, My mother entered. She was carrying a box and a piece of paper.

She gave the paper to me, and I wonder what is written on it.

"It's an invitation to the ball. The Lycan king is holding a ball, and everyone is invited."She said.

"Wait, is it our Lycan King?"I asked.

" Yes, it is. This place is where the pack members settle. Back then, The humans didn't want us to live with them, so they chased us. So we found this place, which was then empty."She replied.

"I thought this Is another pack. How come I've never been here?"I asked.

"That's a story for another day, but one thing you should know Is that where we've been taking you to, Is the pack meeting place. But this place is where we all live."She replied.

"Why is It a story for another day?"I asked.

"Because the histories are confusing, and now is not the time to narrate it all to you. By the way, you should carry some boxes, so that it would be faster for us."She replied.

**

The house was fully arranged, and everyone except my mother sat down on the couch.

"Do you love how it looks?"My father asked.

"Yeah, I love it. But it Isn't as big as our previous home."I replied truthfully.

"Yeah, I know. This house is owned by your grandfather, and since I was his only child, I inherited it. And I did it without fighting with anyone."He said.

I wasn't surprised that my father inherited the house from my grandfather. But what I keep wondering is how he managed to be the only child.

"How does it feel like to be the only child?, Like wasn't it lonely?"I asked.

"I didn't feel lonely, cause my father was there for me. I asked several times why he refused to have a second child, but he kept saying I'm enough for him. And besides, I played with a lot of people, and I never for once felt lonely."He replied.

"Wow. If I were you, I would force him for a sibling."I said.

"Yeah, I know. If you were me and I was your father, I won't even listen to you."He teased.

"You're kidding. You will listen to me because of how troublesome I am."I said.

"Enough of them chit chat, food is ready. You all should gather at the dining table."My mother chipped in.

"It was just getting interesting, can we continue the chit-chat for a while?"Greg asked.

"No honey, it's time to eat."My mother replied.

**

After dinner, I and Greg were allowed to go outside, to get fresh air. Greg went to Erik's house for the tour while I strolled around on my own.

Everywhere was just beautiful. The houses, the environment, and the sky. It is better than our previous home.

Gosh, why I'm I just comparing here to our previous home?

My mother was right after all, I'm going to love this place. It's freer and safer.

I kept wandering around, I didn't know where I was going, but I knew no matter where get to, I'm going to find my way back.

As I walked, I saw a gate. The gate had wires connected to them. There was something written on it, so I moved closer to see what was written.

I checked and saw it was a warning. A warning that no one is allowed to pass through the gate.

There was a drawing of a wolf on it, and it was scary enough to make someone not pass through.

I looked through the gates and saw trees, a lot of them. I heard the creepy sounds of creepy birds.

I was about to turn back when I noticed someone. At first, I thought it was a thing, but it was someone.

I took a closer look at the person, and to my greatest surprise, it was someone I wasn't expecting to see.

It was Ryan.
