LOGINChapter Five
Leah’s POV
I stared at the pregnancy test in my hand for what felt like the hundredth time.
Positive.
The result hadn't changed, no matter how many times I looked at it.
I was pregnant.
Or at least, that was what the test seemed to be telling me.
I sank onto the edge of my bed and let out a shaky breath.
"No, this can't be happening."
I placed the test on the bedside table and covered my face with both hands.
I needed to be sure. I couldn't make such a big decision based on a single pregnancy test. What if it was wrong? What if there was another explanation for the nausea I had been experiencing?
I wanted answers.
And there was only one person who could give me those answers.
The pack doctor.
I quickly stood up, grabbed my handbag, and checked my appearance in the mirror. I didn't want anyone asking unnecessary questions, so I decided to keep my visit a secret.
After making sure I had everything I needed, I left my room.
Fortunately, I didn't run into Adrian or Penelope on my way out.
I didn't want to explain where I was going, especially when I wasn't even sure what I was going to find out.
The thought of being pregnant terrified me.
Not because I didn't want children, but because of who the father might be.
I pressed my lips together and forced the thought away.
I couldn't think about that yet.
First, I needed to know the truth.
By the time I arrived at the pack hospital, my palms were already sweating.
I walked straight to the reception desk and gave the nurse my name.
"Good morning, Luna. How can we help you?"
"I'd like to see the pack doctor."
"Is something wrong?"
"No. I just need a checkup."
The nurse nodded and directed me to the doctor's office.
A few minutes later, I was sitting across from the pack doctor, trying to look calm while she reviewed my information.
"Tell me, Luna. What brings you here today?"
I hesitated before answering.
"I've been feeling nauseous lately, and I took a pregnancy test at home."
Her expression immediately brightened.
"Really?"
I nodded nervously.
"But I'm not sure the result is accurate. I need you to confirm it."
"Of course. We'll run the necessary tests."
She called a nurse, who took me to another room for the examination.
I waited afterward, sitting on a chair with my hands clasped tightly together.
Every passing minute felt like an hour.
I kept imagining what would happen if the result came back positive.
What would I do?
How would I face Adrian?
And what about Damien?
I squeezed my eyes shut.
I didn't want to think about him.
Not now.
The door finally opened, and the doctor walked in with my results.
She was smiling.
That smile made my heart sink before she even spoke.
"Congratulations, Luna!"
I stared at her.
"Congratulations?"
"Yes!" She sat down opposite me. "You're pregnant!"
For a moment, I couldn't hear anything else.
I simply stared at her, unable to process what she had just said.
Pregnant.
I was actually pregnant.
"Oh, Moon Goddess," I whispered.
The doctor laughed softly, clearly pleased with the news.
"This is wonderful. How far along are you? Have you and the Alpha been trying for a child?"
My stomach twisted.
I forced myself to swallow.
"No. We weren't exactly planning for one."
"Well, sometimes these things happen unexpectedly." She smiled warmly. "You should take good care of yourself. Avoid unnecessary stress, eat properly, and make sure you come for your prenatal appointments."
I nodded, barely hearing her.
"Is there anything else you need to know, Luna?"
I shook my head.
"No. Thank you, Doctor."
I stood up on unsteady legs and walked out of the office.
The moment I reached the corridor, I stopped beside the wall.
I was pregnant.
There was no mistake this time.
The pack doctor had confirmed it.
I slowly lowered my gaze to my stomach, placing a trembling hand over it.
There was a baby growing inside me.
A baby I hadn't planned for.
A baby whose existence could destroy what little peace I had left.
I had to tell someone.
No, I couldn't tell anyone.
Not yet.
I needed time to think.
I needed to figure out what I was going to do before this secret came out and turned my entire life upside down.
Taking a deep breath, I left the hospital.
By the time I arrived at the pack house, my head was pounding.
I hadn't stopped thinking about the pregnancy since I left the doctor's office.
I was so distracted that I almost walked straight into someone standing near the entrance.
"Leah!"
I froze.
Adrian.
My husband stood in front of me, a wide smile spreading across his face.
For a moment, I wondered how he knew I had gone to the hospital.
Then he stepped forward and took both my hands.
"They told me you're pregnant!"
My heart dropped.
He knew.
Of course, he knew. The pack hospital would have informed him as Alpha.
Adrian laughed happily, pulling me into his arms.
"This is wonderful news, Leah! I'm so happy!"
I stood stiffly against his chest.
He was happy.
He was genuinely happy.
I could hear it in his voice, feel it in the way he held me, and see it in the smile on his face.
For a moment, I didn't know what to do.
This was the man I had once dreamed of having a family with. There had been a time when the thought of giving him a child would have made me the happiest woman alive.
But that time was gone.
He had spent months making me feel as though I was no longer important to him. He had asked me to step aside so he could give another woman the title that belonged to me.
And now, he was celebrating a baby he believed was his.
I forced a smile onto my face.
"Yes," I whispered. "I'm pregnant."
Adrian pulled back and looked at me, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Can you believe it? We're going to have a baby!"
I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"Yes."
He placed his hand gently on my stomach.
"There's a little life growing inside you." He laughed again. "I can't believe I'm going to be a father!"
My smile almost broke.
You're not the father.
The words rose in my throat, but I quickly swallowed them.
I couldn't say it.
Not here.
Not when I hadn't even figured out what I was going to do.
Adrian kissed my forehead.
"I promise I'll take care of you both. You won't have to worry about anything anymore."
I looked at him, and for a moment, I almost laughed.
Where had this man been when I needed him?
Where was this concern when I had cried myself to sleep because he was busy comforting Penelope?
Why was he suddenly acting like the husband I had spent months begging him to be?
I lowered my eyes.
"Adrian, I need to rest."
His smile softened.
"Of course, sweetheart. You need all the rest you can get now that you're pregnant."
He gently touched my cheek.
"Don't worry about anything. I'll take care of everything."
I nodded, forcing myself to smile again.
"Thank you."
He kissed my forehead once more before stepping aside to let me pass.
I walked into the house, feeling as though every step was taking me closer to a disaster I couldn't prevent.
Adrian was happy.
He was already imagining our future as a family.
And I was carrying a secret that could destroy every one of those dreams.
I couldn't bear to look at him.
I just wanted to get to my room, lock the door, and figure out what I was going to do.
But as I turned into the hallway, I came face-to-face with someone else.
Damien.
He was sitting in his wheelchair near the staircase, his golden eyes fixed on me.
I stopped immediately.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
Then his gaze moved toward the entrance behind me, where Adrian was still standing with a smile on his face.
Damien looked back at me.
Something in his expression changed.
He studied my face, taking in my forced smile and the fear I hadn't managed to hide.
Then he slowly spoke.
"Congratulations, Luna."
My heart began to pound.
"Thank you," I muttered, attempting to walk past him.
"Leah."
I stopped.
His voice was quiet, but something about it made me turn around.
He looked directly into my eyes.
"Tell me something."
I swallowed.
"What?"
His jaw tightened slightly.
Then he asked the one question I had been praying nobody would ever ask.
"Adrian isn't the one who impregnated you, is he?"

Chapter Three : My Thoight Leah’s POVAfter cleaning myself up, I stood in front of the mirror for a while, staring at my reflection without saying a word.I still could not believe what I had done.I had spent the night with a stranger.Whatever happened last night had happened because I had been hurt, angry, and desperate to forget everything that was happening in my marriage, but that did not mean I wanted to carry the memory with me for the rest of my life.I took a deep breath, picked up my things, and left the room. The moment I stepped outside, the cool morning air touched my face, and I breathed in deeply.I needed air.I needed to clear my head before going back to my room and facing another day of thinking about Adrian and Penelope.I slowly walked downstairs, keeping my hand on the railing as I made my way down. The house was unusually quiet. Most of the servants were probably still busy with their morning duties, and I was grateful for the silence because the last thing I

I need you to understand.”Adrian’s voice was behind me, low and careful, the same voice he always used whenever he knew he was about to hurt me.I stood beside the window of our bedroom with my back turned to him, staring at the dark forest beyond the pack house. Moonlight spilled across the trees, but I could barely see any of it because my eyes were already burning with tears.“Penelope only has a few months left to live,” he continued. “Her condition is getting worse, and her last wish is to marry me and become my Luna.”My fingers tightened around the curtain. There it was, again, Penelope. $:: name had become a wound in my marriage, one that never had enough time to heal before Adrian opened it again.I slowly turned around.Penelope stood beside my husband. She looked pale, almost fragile, with one hand pressed against her chest and the other holding Adrian’s arm.
