Xavier Point of view
We all got in Bruce's van. It was spacious and had enough leg room for the nine of us. Bruce hopped onto the driver's seat, while the hunter was beside him at he front seat. On the first row of seats were Ryder, Linda, Sarah, followed by Christina and I. In the the backseat, Riley and the witch girls occupied that space.
Ryder guided Bruce, giving him the directions to their destination, which happened to be a couple miles away from their starting location. It was convenient as they were in a rush. As the car ride went on, Ryder explained to us about the catastrophe that was about to happen - the world resetting and how it was mom's and Sam's doing. He also mentioned about the realms and the keeper, which lead to the discussion of how his dad wanted to use the keeper's magic. His intentions were to turn time further back in an attempt to get his deceased wife back.
As Rider was explaining these revelations, I felt a sudde
Samantha Point of view Aria and I were switched to another memory. At this point, the memories were completely random. We went through memories of Samira with different people. She was with her neighbors, with her parents, with Linda, and with Xavier's friend whose name I still did not know. And I didn't think of asking because I was wondering about where Rai had been the whole time. Time passed as we went through the memories. Judging by the plants that grew in our neighbor's garden, I would say it has been a month since. I see Samira coming out and Xavier's friend was there, right on time, with a smile on his face. "Ready for another horseback riding?" "You made your point," she replies as she closed the door behind her. "You are way better than me." He gave a cheeky smile and walked by her side. Looking at them now, I would say they looked like a couple. But if you looked closely, you would notice that it was one-
Samantha Point of view I stayed on the ground, staring at Rai's hand until it was clean. Rai then tossed it aside casually. He looked at me and waited. He seemed to be waiting for me to talk, to scream, to run, to do anything, but there was nothing. I blinked once, then twice, then once again. I took a deep breath and tried to speak, only for my voice to come out in a stutter. "Shapeshifter?" I questioned before shaking my head at the thought that I voiced out loud. I reasoned, "No, your hand shapeshifted into a weapon. Shapeshifters usually shapeshift into living things but not objects. So how? How? I don't know anyone who can shapeshift into a weapon." Rai didn't move. He kept his distance from me, knowing that I was frightened, which I considered to be very considerate of him to do. "Can you stand?" I heard him speak, but I wasn't able to understand in that moment. I stammered out, "What?" "Can you get up?" He asked a
Samantha Point of View Aria and I watched as my other self walked away with the boy who claimed to be her mate. Not long after, the scenery began to change. I looked at Aria, waiting for her to confirm what I just saw. Aria nodded and told me, "He is your mate. Ryder was your mate because I was in you and my mate was in him, which basically made you mates. But without me, you would have belonged to someone else. You were someone's mate." It didn't seem that way when I looked at them. With my brows furrowed, I looked at Aria with a puzzled expression on my face. "But she didn't feel anything for him. I thought falling in love with your mate was easy." I said. Aria shook her head lightly at the notion. She then responded, "It's not. Having mates doesn't affect how much you love them. It's like a pull. It just sends signals that the person was chosen to be your mate by the moon goddess herself, but it is our decision to accept them or not.
Samantha Point of view The memory shifted back into the forest. It was similar to the forest where I was attacked, but this time, I wasn't afraid for myself. It was not as frightening since Rai was there with me. As I looked around, I spotted Rai chopping wood , which put a grin on my face. I let out a small, but hearty laugh at the thoughts that went through my mind. "It's funny how it's easier to find you these days." I said with my weight shifted onto one leg. Aware of my presence in the vicinity, he momentarily glanced at me and then rolled his eyes. He turned his attention back to his work right after while he grumbled, "That's cause you're prone to getting yourself in trouble." Slowly and carefully, I made my way down the slope and then went over to where he was. He was chopping off some wood, leaving piles of wood and splinter scattered on the ground. He had his cloak off, revealing parts of his scars visible on the areas of his
Samantha Point of view Memories started to come by faster and faster. One moment we were with Rai then we'd find ourselves with someone else in another. One day, I went to visit him again to bother him some more as he chopped up some more wood. Then another day, when it was a bit more sunny than usual, she brought a hat that she made from scratch and made one for him. He didn't accept it, of course. Then the next memory was me standing over the tree to surprise him. As soon as he was right underneath her, she jumped on him while she laughed. Another memory was when she managed to grab his cloak and run from him. He chased her down and easily caught up with her in a matter of minutes. Then it was the next memory, which was longer than th
Samantha Point of view Another memory flashed where I was in the forest. I was walking in the direction to where Rai usually is at this time but I slowed down. I was in slight pain. I decided to sit down and lift my bottom up and see a long cut on the side of my leg. I laughed nervously and said, "This doesn't look good.""I should have turned around and taken care of this," I said to myself. "Stubborn Samira didn't bother to look and decided to just keep going." I sighed hard. "Now, it's gonna be hard to get back."I assessed the open cut. It wasn't that deep nor was it bleeding a lot. It's the bruise on my knee. I must have fallen pretty hard. I should clean the cut too to avoid getting it infected. I look up and see that I took a long ti
Samantha Point of viewWe were getting closer and closer to the village. As soon as we did, it was already getting dark. The street light began to light themselves up so we could still see through the becoming darkness. Under one of those streetlights, I see my brother worried but as soon as he saw me he frowns.I see him looking at Rai. Rai sees him glaring at him but he doesn't seem to be bothered. He walked over to him and lowered down so I can move off his back. I was about to thank him when Xavier grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him as he glares at Rai.Rai knew what his problem was. His sister was gone the whole afternoon then suddenly seeing a man carrying her on his back was not as innocent as it seems. He looks over to me and says, "Make sure you treat and clean it."Xavier looks at me wondering what he was talking about. Rai leaves and Xavier's attention was fully on me. I sat on the bench near us but still does
Samantha Point of view On the next day, Xavier and I made a deal that I would at least tell my mate the truth. He did deserve that much at least. I changed into my clothes and fixed my hair before coming out of my room. When I did, I see my mother and father in the kitchen talking. They both had smiles on their faces when they see me going out. Mom went around the counter and told dad to get the basket on the table. Dad hurriedly went over to get it and gave it to her. Mom had food prepared and placed carefully into the basket. "Samira, do you what else he likes?" mom asked me but I didn't answer. I just stared at them thinking how much they would be disappointed when I tell them. None of them notice my silence and continued searching for other food to put inside besides bread.
