Gemma

The first thing I felt was a pounding headache.

I opened my eyes gradually, but my surroundings appeared blurry, and my body felt strangely heavy. I attempted to move, but my head started pounding right away, making me shut my eyes once more.

Then I heard Gigi.

“Gemma, please wake up.”

Her voice sounded different from usual. She kept calling my name. I tried to respond, but my mouth was dry and my voice barely came out.

“Gigi…”

“Oh, thank God.”

I heard someone shift beside me, and then an

GemmaOver the next several days, Gigi helped me make arrangements. She handled some of the things I couldn’t bring myself to deal with while I focused on getting my medical records transferred and contacting hospitals abroad. After several calls and emails, we settled on Zurich, Switzerland. The hospital there could continue the treatment plan I was already following, which made the decision easier. I wasn’t leaving just to escape my problems. My health required proper care, and moving to another country allowed me to receive that care somewhere I wouldn’t be surrounded by memories I wasn’t ready to face. For days, I spoke with the hospital’s international patient department. We discussed my medical records, appointments, treatment schedule, accommodation, and the documents they needed before I arrived. There were times when I sat on my bed with my phone against my ear, listening to someone explain the next step, while my eyes remained fixed on the suitcase lying open on the floor.G

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Truth He Couldn’t Tell

JulianThings at the company had become difficult lately. Everyone walked on eggshells around me.People still worked, meetings went on, and reports arrived on my desk every morning, but the ease that once existed around the office had disappeared. Conversations became restrained whenever I walked past, and employees who once entered my office with confidence now approached my door with fear, carefully considering every word before they spoke.Even the executives who had worked with me for years started watching my reactions before giving their opinions during meetings.Nobody wanted to be the person who tested my patience.A delayed presentation resulted in a dismissal that left the entire department silent for the rest of the afternoon. When one of the senior managers failed to notice a serious problem in a contract before it reached my desk, his explanation barely lasted a minute before I fired him.Every mistake irritated me because everything else already felt out of control. Eve

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   I Needed to Get Away

Gemma“You were only a fling.”Those words wouldn’t leave my head. I kept hearing it in his voice, cold and mean, like it was nothing.I stayed awake all night just staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out what happened to the man I thought I knew. My mind kept picturing his face, looking for a sign that he didn’t mean it, but there was nothing. He just walked away. How could I be so stupid? After everything Richard had done to me, I still allowed myself to fall in love with another man and end up in the same situation. I was an idiot. Here I was, lying awake over another man again. Before sunrise, I finally gave up and climbed out of bed. Lying there was useless. I got dressed, grabbed my bag, and drove straight to the hospital.Dr. Victor was already in his office when I arrived. He seemed surprised to see me so early, but he welcomed me in and motioned toward the chair.“Gemma, what brings you here this morning?”“I want to transfer my treatment.”He stopped going through the f

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   The Question I Had to Ask

Gemma“You are going.”I stayed curled up on the sofa, staring at the TV. Without paying attention to whatever was playing. “I already told you, I’m not interested.”She had been at this for the past twenty minutes.“Gemma, you can’t keep doing this,” she said, walking around the living room. “You wake up, stay inside, barely speak to anyone, and spend the entire day finding reasons not to go out. Even Ethan has been asking where you are. You haven’t been to class.”“I told him I wasn’t feeling well.”“You lied.”Gigi stopped in front of me.“And you think that’s going to work forever? That man has been trying to reach you because you’ve disappeared from class, and you’ve been avoiding him because you don’t want to explain what happened. Anne invited us to this charity thing, and you’re acting like leaving the house for a few hours will kill you.”“I just don’t feel like being around people.”“Yeah, yeah, I know you don’t,” she said, rolling her eyes. “But that doesn’t mean you should

  • My Ex-Husband’s Billionaire Boss Wants Me.   All We Could Do

GigiI waited until Gemma had fallen asleep before leaving the living room. She was exhausted, and after everything that happened, I didn’t want to risk waking her. Damien stayed behind with her while I went into the kitchen, needing a few minutes to myself before I said something I would regret.I stood by the counter, staring at the glass of water in front of me, but my mind kept going back to Gemma lying on that sofa with a bottle beside her.I couldn’t get the image out of my head. She had always been strong, even when life gave her every reason to fall apart. She survived Richard, the mess with Angela, everything that happened with Sam, and now the situation with Julian. But seeing her drunk and unconscious had scared me in a way I couldn’t explain.Damien walked in.“She’s asleep.”“I know.”He studied me. “You should try to rest too.”I turned to face him.“How am I supposed to rest, Damien? My best friend has been drinking because she can’t handle what your brother did, and yo

I looked between them, confused by the worry on their faces.“What happened?”Gigi grabbed my hand at once.“You passed out.”I stared at her.“What?”“You were sitting there, and then you suddenly stopped responding. I called your name several times, but you wouldn’t answer me.”I looked around the room, trying to remember what had ha
