GIANNA'S POV
I loved the shock and humiliation on his face the moment he walked in to see me. Once he left I took out my phone still staring at the spot where Jason had been sitting.
I put a call through, a male voice responds on the other end as i tell him… “He just left. Phase one is complete.” I dropped the phone after the call, staring fondly at Gio a second longer before letting out a sigh of great relief.
Jason has no idea what he'd just walked into.
*************
Two weeks after Jason and I met again and after six years of our official divorce, I was already in possession of a VIP invite to Declan Wilmore’s 23rd anniversary. A prestigious party that I had never been invited to attend during my marriage with Jason. I tossed the card back and forth in the air as I stared back at my reflection in the mirror.
“Don’t tell me you've been invited to that good for nothing business anniversary?!’ Maria's voice rose as I showed her the gold invitation with the company’s name engraved on it. Declan Wilmore Inc.
I just smiled wryly. “Of course. How could I not be invited? I am their benefactor now, remember?”
Maria snorted and rolled her eyes distinctively. “So you’re truly attending that damn anniversary?”
“Yes, I mean, why not Maria?. They are my business partners so I don’t see anything wrong with it” I shrugged casually after making my point valid.
Maria's eyes widened, “You are crazy! I tell you,” she chuckled as she folded the last shirt she had in her hand and dropped it on the pile. Maria was my cousin and she'd been with me ever since we were little. She lost her parents in a fatal accident and since then my father has been the one taking care of her. I loved her so much and have missed all the good times we shared as children.
I looked at the invitation lazily. “Well, let’s just say I want to see things for myself. I want to see how that backstabbing bitch reacts to seeing me again.”
“You mean Tina?”
“Yeah”, the satisfactory smile crossed my face again, my cheeks dancing with excitement.
“What if Jason never told her about you and your position?” Teyena had a point but I don't care if he did or not, I just want my revenge and that's it.
“That means I get to see her face when she learns the truth which is much more satisfying.” I inhaled and exhaled before adding “I leave for America tomorrow” I finished with a tone of finality.
“Will Aaron be going with you?” The mere mention of his name made my insides flutter.
“No, not yet. He has other things to attend to.” I answered calmly.
Welcome to a new chapter Mr and Mrs Jason Wilmore, they don't know what is coming! A wicked smirk tugged my left cheek.
********
The long awaited night was fine here,
As the black SUV I stepped into the lavishly adorned hall with confidence. My beautifully designed satin gown wrapped perfectly over her body, revealing the graceful shape that had been hidden for years. My long dark lush hair was neatly pulled into a low bun, and my red lipstick popped my lips as I displayed a thin smile.
As I took a few steps further, whispers began to come in.
“Who is she?”
“Oh! My gosh! She looks stunning in that dress, who is the elegant lady?”
Both men and women spoke amongst themselves as they admired me in my elegance. Soon the compliments died down as Jason and his wife, Tina surfaced the main stage with their son standing by their side. Tina looked ravishing in her diamond-stoned purple dress that complimented Jason’s pocket filler. They looked like the perfect family or so everyone thought.
I knew the truth. And soon, everyone would too. I would enjoy the night while Aaron gathered more Intel for me.
Jason grabbed the microphone and cleared his throat as he began his speech.
“I know I haven’t done this before but ladies and gentlemen this is the next heir to the Wilmore family, my brilliant son Matthew, named after my great-grandfather.”
The guests cheered and applauded. They praised Tina as a well composed and compatible companion for Jason. That was true because as far as I was concerned they were both snakes and they surely deserved each other.
In all three years of my marriage with Jason he never introduced me to his associates as his wife or took me to his social gatherings. I was never introduced as part of the great Wilmore family. But now I was the world’s famous CEO bagging deals, closing contracts and traveling the world. I'd achieved more than Jason could ever fathom.
Who wouldn’t want to be with a woman like me?
Jason soon pulled the boy up and planted a gentle kiss on his head and a kiss on Tina’s glossy lips. My heart leaped slightly at the sight, my eyes flushing and heating up with hatred.
He'd never considered me worthy. Never truly loved me enough and that's fine but damn it. That kiss only reminds me of the day I saw the last betrayal that broke the camel's back.
I turned away, not wanting to watch them anymore. My tears were threatening to fall, but I blinked them back with force. I got up walking away hurriedly, heading out of the hall and suddenly, I bumped into someone. The glass of red wine the man was holding spilled on him, soaking a good part of his expensive grey suit.
I looked up, staring at the man with confusion and anger. He had a sharp face with a stiff jaw, green cold eyes and a tall intimidating posture.
Nathan Sabastian Ricci.
Who wouldn’t recognize him even in the dark?
He was the most industrious and powerful man in the entire capital, from a long lineage of generational wealth. The last time I had heard of him was when he travelled to England to run his masters program in Business administration. Nathan looked down at his now wet-wine stained suit, then looked down at me with an incredulous look.
“Watch where you’re going lady!” He barked the words at me.
Rather than apologize for what I'd done wrong I just gasped and walked away quickly unwilling to deal with that drama.
Nathan frowned “What the heck?” he stared blankly at my retreating figure. “She couldn’t even apologize.” I heard him mutter to himself.
He had never been ignored by a woman before in the way I just did. Nathan looked down at his dirty suit one more time and chuckled.
“Interesting”
When I reached the restroom. stood in front of the mirror staring at my beautiful reflection. My honey brown eyes flushed and my lips trembled with pent up emotions.
“That bastard!,” I mouthed clenching my fist to a ball. Seeing them together only brings back the emotions and a pang of jealousy I thought I had outgrown. I blinked the tears back, took a deep breath and made a decision not to let my emotions take over me.
I puffed air out of my mouth as I gave myself a reminder “You are bigger and better now Gianna, step out and do what you have to do. It's pay back time, a bloody revenge and I guess I would be with the Wilmore’s for a much longer time! I would love to see them weep their blood but before we delve into this let me give an interesting backstory, something I never told anyone a secret I thought would die with me forever!

JASON'S POVSix years later.Life has suddenly gone tough for my family and business. As I entered the Roma Capital, a glistening glass and steel tower that punctured the sky like a divine piece of crystal, I felt a sense of excitement flushing through my soul with each step I took. The building itself seemed to be bustling with energy. With one hand I pushed through the revolving door and into the lobby, where the air was fresh and calm… I made my way to the elevators and marvelled at the infrastructure of the Roma Capital as I went. From what I figured, the entire tower occupied about eleven floors and I was about to meet with the CEO, an old friend of my father.I had done my research about the company, and I strongly believed it was the best fit. Their best shot at saving the failing company. My father had been hell bent on me sealing this deal to fix things or risk losing all my inheritance. I couldn't shake the anticipation I felt as I began the elevator ride up. And before
JANE'S POVThe next day at exactly 2pm after my doctor's appointment. Teyena held my hand as we walked into the attorneys office for what would be the end of my old ties. Jason had been wanting that divorce for months but I'd only refused to sign them hoping that he would change by some miracle. I was stupid. Jason never loved me. But how wrong I had been. He'd decided to rub his bad attitude and inconsistencies in my face. I couldn't bear the humiliation, the insults and bullying anymore. He rubbed all that in my face without any iota of sympathy. I am done. Done with taking shit from him.He could go be with his whores now.******The moment the door opened Tenaya and I stepped in. Besides being my good friend, Tenaya is an attorney and she has decided to be my lawyer throughout this divorce. The attorney got up to greet us with a formal but warm smile. Jason didn't bother at all. But of course that wasn't a surprise. He still had that disgusting proud look on his face. And I ca
JANE'S POVIt was said that the best news always came with the light of day.I've experienced that firsthand. The sun shone bright and hot casting a golden yellow over my skin as I strolled out of the hospital with a bright smile spreading across my lips. The brown envelope in my hand wavered with each step I took. My shoes clicked heavily against the tiles as I proceeded through the main door of the hospital heading towards my car.Jason had always wanted to be a father and maybe this child would make him love me again. I hurried into my car, cracking my fingers as I held the steering tight ready to start the car. The car engine hummed as I zoomed off heading home to share the good news. My car pulled up in the front yard after about twenty minutes. As I climbed through the front porch of our magnificent mansion, the doctor's words flooded my mind. “Jane, you are having a baby” my heart suddenly began to pound in joy and anticipation. Jason was going to love this, his parents too w
