Daisy's POV :
After a few minutes, we have crossed an enormous gate of a bungalow. I was busy watching the scenery in front of me. Wow!! This place is huge.We crossed the gardens along with different fountains. The limo stopped soon, and before I could get down I heard him say in a serious tone, " Daisy, I need you to keep all your worries aside and act as a lovely wife. They must believe that our marriage is out of love. Don't worry I will talk if they ask for any details. I wanted you to know that this is important. Be polite and don't offend anyone there. Act as the perfect wife okay.."I just nodded at him, then I remembered his previous warning and said, "Okay sir..""Common, let's go inside..."He helped me get down as a gentleman. Of course, he needs to impress his family...We were welcomed by an old lady in uniform."Welcome Master Harrison and Madam..." She smiled politely towards us."Thank you, Aunt Mary..." He replied and moved inside hand in hand with me.Before getting inside, I was worried about what am I going to face now. But as I stepped in, I was thrilled to see the architecture of the bungalow, it was like the homes of the Victorian Era. Which was romantic, distinctive, and abundant with detail, from the fabrics and patterns to the colours and textures. As an architect, I was impressed by the sight in front of me. Traditional and contemporary styles were nicely combined into a visual treat. It has a steeply pitched roof, a dominant front-facing gable, patterned shingles, and cutaway bay windows. I was busy watching the details when I heard him clear his throat."If you have seen enough, let's go and meet Grandpa first. " Even though he sounded normal, I know it was a command. I said okay and went with him. When we have almost reached the door, I caught his arm and stopped him in panic." What do I need to do or tell?? Please tell me otherwise I may get nervous... And make a fool of myself..." I whispered to him."For a matter of fact, You are already nervous Daisy. And don't worry, just act according to the situation. Just think this is real, that we are in love and married. Going to meet my Grandpa for the first time. I will manage the rest. Just go with the flow okay." he said with a very calm tone.I took a deep breath and followed him.His Grandpa was busy with reading when we went there."Good evening Grandpa, I got a surprise for you..." He said in a pleasing tone that I wondered if that sweet tone was coming from him only!! So the arrogant boss got a soft side too.Grandpa looked up and his eyes scanned both of us." Ben..!! You got a girlfriend now??" Grandpa asked with confusion. Then Ben took my hand and showed him the ring on my finger and said, "No Grandpa, she is not my girlfriend. She is more than that. Meet my wife, Daisy. I am sorry we had to get married on short notice and could not inform anyone."With his Grandpa's scrutinizing gaze, I struggled to smile. His eyes got softened once he saw the ring on my finger. He averted his gaze towards Ben and said,"Benjamin Alexander Harrison, would you care to explain what is going on... The last time we met, you didn't have a girlfriend. And most importantly you were not even ready to get married... What happened now?? A miracle??"I swallowed hard as Grandpa started to question him, but I was relieved that he did not ask me anything at all. I felt Ben's hand going over my shoulder as an intimate gesture. I felt like moving away from him but I couldn't. I could sense his manly scent filling my nostrils along with his woody perfume. I was distracted, while he started explaining things to Grandpa." Grandpa, We knew each other for months only. And we were confused about our relationship. We were good friends at the beginning and did not know whether we wanted to go further than just a friendship. Until her family forced her to get engaged. That's when I realised I need her in my life and I can't lose her for the sake of anything. Her family did not have any interest in our relationship and forced her to get engaged with the guy they found for her. So she escaped from her home and came to me. And we get married on the same day. " he paused. I know he was checking for his Grandpa's reaction. I was sure that his Grandpa would fall for this as his story was too convincing.Grandpa came towards us and hugged Ben."Finally, you are a family man now... I am so glad for you, and you're Daisy..." he paused." Daisy Donovan...Grandpa" I said with a smile."No my child, you are now Daisy Harrison. Don't mind the interaction that happened just between us. It is that my Grandson can be tricky sometimes and I just wanted to confirm that it's not one of his pranks. "I gave a small laugh for the last comment. Hmm, his Grandpa seems to know him very well. Sorry, Grandpa, I had to play this drama in front of you, I thought."Where is mom??" Ben asked."She went with your Aunt to pick up Amanda. I think the engagement is going to get postponed. ""Oh really... okay Grandpa. I will show her around until everyone comes back.""Okay Ben, take good care of her... Her name is apt for her personality. Just like a beautiful daisy flower... I think you two look perfect for each other. God bless you, my children." he blessed us.We left there with a smile. Instead of showing me around, he leads me to another master bedroom upstairs. When we finally got inside, he left me in his embrace. And I was in loss of his warmth, yet felt relieved."This is my room. As we are here to act like a couple, I can't arrange another room for you. You can rest a little, while I go outside. Melvin will come with your things and new phone. So if there is anything important, you can call Melvin or me, okay.. "Without waiting for me to answer he went outside. Hmm... it's hard to read him. It's like he has multiple personalities. And the one I just saw with Grandpa now was the best of all. His mysterious aura was replaced by ease there. Who are you in real, Mr Benjamin Harrison..??, I wondered.Ben's POV :It was a busy day at the office. And when I finally had time for lunch, I remembered Daisy. She treated my injured hand and even fed me last night. I'm sure she's eating at the cafeteria. And I always order food from the city's five-star hotels. So I decided to place an order for her as well. Melvin texted her even though he teased me. However, as expected, she preferred to eat in the cafeteria. But when Melvin saw Daisy with a few of our employees, particularly Edwin, coming out of a restaurant, I became irritated. If she wanted to go out to eat with them, she should have told Melvin. I was enraged that she had lied. In that mood I even skipped my lunch.Soon I got her message, but I was obviously in a bad mood. But when she explained why she texted, I felt a little better. At the very least, she wasn't concealing the fact that she had gone out with them. But why is Edwin putting in so much effort on her? I've known him for several years. He is not a player. And I haven't
Daisy's POV : I was feeling proud when Ben defended me as Amanda tried to use the Jayda card to make me feel bad. I was pleased that his words made her shut her mouth. I knew Grandpa had something important to say. But his attention was drawn to Ben's injury, and he warned him to be more careful in the future. And what he said about our "future children" made me almost choke on the food I was eating. Ben handed me a glass of water, which I quickly drank. Even though Ben said we needed time, I knew Grandpa was eager for a great-grandchild. But he didn't realise it would never happen through me. The main topic of discussion was Amanda's engagement. It is scheduled in two weeks. But what tipped me off was Grandpa's desire to throw a party for us. Especially to introduce me to family members. Grandpa had already decided on it, despite Ben's opposition. He also suggested that I invite my family to help me solve the problems. Uncle Tom and Aunt Amelia took advantage of the situation and ca
Ben's POV : I became enraged when Daisy told me she was being pursued by thugs. I was angry not only with her, but also with myself because I was partially to blame. She wouldn't have left if I hadn't gone with Jayda or returned in time. I wanted to know who dared to look at my wife... even though she is a contractual wife, she is Mrs Harrison. And someone tried to offend her. I can't think about the rest if Edwin hadn't arrived on time. Those who took part in this dangerous game needed to be compensated. And because this is such a personal matter for me, I wanted to make them pay for it myself. I'm familiar with the location she mentioned, and when I went there, three of them were present. They were on high alert as I stepped outside. But I haven't given them the opportunity to flee or fight back. And I used my fighting abilities. When they were almost dead meat, I told them that this was their reward for pursuing my wife. At the time, I felt as if I meant every word of it. Daisy
Daisy's POV : I sigh heavily once he's gone. Although he made me stay home today as punishment, I didn't mind because I had planned to take the day off due to my illness. I attempted to stop him so that I could tell him that Edwin was the person who saved me last night. I gulped instead of responding when he gave me that doubtful look. I have trouble explaining why to him. Why has his proximity to me had such a strong impact on me? The devil, I need to calm down. His mother soon arrived with brunch. and placed the bowl of oatmeal in my hands while sitting next to me. I was perplexed as I stared at her. "Daisy, eat this. It is light and nutritious. When you have a fever, it helps. I've also called the doctor." How do you know I'm unwell, though? Even Ben was unaware that I had a temperature. ...or did he? Is it the reason he advised me to stay in? "Ben informed me, of course. He had told me to look after you. Even though he won't express it out loud, he is a really caring perso
Ben's POV : Daisy…!! She was very surprised by my dinner plan and she loved the view from there. As she talked about her capacity with alcohol, I felt like she was opening up to me. And I would like to know more about her. After all, we are going to spend a year together. If we can have a friendly relationship, that's the best. I was in thought, that's when she called me. Before any of us could respond, Jayda came in. And she didn't leave her usual style even when I introduced Daisy as my wife. Daisy was polite, whereas Jayda completely ignored her and concentrated on me only. She even doubted our marriage and wasn't ready to accept it was real. Yes, that's what Jayda is… She is a very persistent and adamant character. But deep down, all she does is for love. She is my childhood friend and I know her well. I was sure that Amanda would inform Jayda of everything soon and even expected her entry back into my life soon. But, I didn't foresee her appearing here out of the blue. And some
Daisy's POV : I was so delighted to drive the limited edition Ferrari baby. He was so good in my arms. And I sure made an impression on Ben, as he thought I couldn't drive sports cars well. But the day was meant for surprises for me. He took me to the famous mall in town and even stayed with me the whole time. Of course, he was busy on his phone now and then. But, he didn't leave me there alone. I know this shopping was not only because he promised me, but also a publicity stunt. As we were in the crowd and people were gawking at us, he would keep me close or hold my hands. So I went with the flow. After trying the gown, I had to check with him. After all, he is the one paying for it and he must be the one to make sure that the gown suits whatever event is on his mind. He insisted on not changing the dress, so I know he was taking me to some event. I wanted to know more information about it, as I don't know whom I will meet there. I just want to be prepared. But, he wasn't giving an
