Chapter Three

Aminas POV

I stared at my new house taking it in. Once I had showed the officer the note from the stalker he agreed with John that I should find a new house. So here I was, with a truck full of boxes behind me. I moved to the opposite side of the country to Yukon, Oklahoma. I looked to either side of my house and smiled a little. At least I didn't have any neighbors that could expose me. John had found a house that had two large field on either side and bought both so no one could build there. "I know it's not much but that's the point" John said coming up next to me.

"It's nice" I said truthfully. It was a two story beige house with a red clay tile roof. We carried boxes inside to the various rooms and started unpacking. When you walk into the front door you see a big open living room where John was pushing the couch against the wall. From the living room you can see the small kitchen and dining room. The counter tops were a tan granite color which matched my sandy wood dining table. To left was a hallway with a few doors to guest rooms and a bathroom. The door to the right of the dining room let to an indoor laundry room where another door led to the garage.

There was a set of stairs on the other side of the living room which led upstairs. The entire upstairs was an open floor plan master bed room. I collapsed on my bed with a sigh as I stared at the high ceiling. I unpacked my many boxes and didn't stop until everything was put away in every room. Once we were done the door bell rang and John paid for the pizza. We both sat at the dining room table for dinner and relaxed.

John was staying in one of the guest rooms downstairs for the next few days while I interviewed people for the security position. I dragged my feet up the stairs until I reached my bathroom. John knew my taste so there was a large stand up tiled shower and a jacuzzi tub. I filled it with some soap and hot water. Soon the steam was rolling off the top as I slide into the water. Yes the water burned a little but I just took a deep breath letting it relax my sore muscles.

My dreams soon took over but they weren't dreams...they were nightmares. I was back to being in my bed and feeling of a hand caressing my arm and I shot awake in my tub. My heart was beating frantically while I gasped for air. I looked around the room as tears fell down my cheeks. I slowly brought my knees up to my chest and just hugged them close while I cried. Your home is where you were supposed to feel safe, but that had been taken away from me. I let myself cry until the tears finally stopped. My eyes were so heavy now so I got out of the tub and dried off. Once I was in my pajamas I crawled into bed for a fitful sleep.

I woke up the next morning with my eyes still feeling heavy. I shuffled my feet to my bathroom and groaned at my appearance. My eyes were still blood shot and a little puffy. I took a shower and dressed into a nice silky blush blouse and pulled on a pair of long black slacks. I made my way down to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee before pulling my frozen eye mask out of the freezer. I strapped it around my hair and walked over to the cabinet for a cup. John busted out laughing when he came into the kitchen and saw me.

"That thing makes you look like a superhero" He said grabbing a cup of coffee as well. I laughed a little as well because he was right. The mask surrounded my eyes but had eye shaped holes so you could walk around with it one. As he reached past me to get the pot of coffee he noticed my eyes. His laughter died and his voice softened "Rough night?" He asked me. I nodded my head wordlessly and took a large sip of my coffee. "Why don't you go upstairs and use some eye drops to help with the blood shot" He said. I nodded my head and made my way to the stairs with the eye mask still on.

"Your first interview will be here in about a hour" John yelled up to me. "Okay" I yelled back and took my mask off. I used the eye drops and did my hair and make up. Once I was ready John and I went to my car and drove to the empty office space he had rented out for the interviews. We were interviewing ten candidates today. Before they even stepped into the same room as me each person had to sign a non-disclosure agreement so they couldn't blab my ware-abouts to the press.

None was seemed like a good fit. Some were way to relaxed with the scenarios we threw at them. Some were way to strict with other scenarios. I needed someone who knew how to keep me safe without locking me away in a room for the rest of my life. It felt like we weren't going to find anyone today...at least until he walked in.

"Beau Travers, let me introduce you to Amina Jordan" John said as the last man came into the room. My jaw dropped  at the sight of him and he faltered in his steps for a moment. He seemed to shake himself before taking the seat opposite of John and myself. He was very intimidating with his bulging muscles that were covered in tattoos. His sharp jaw line led to full lips. His blue eyes were stunning I smiled. I offered my hand to him. "Pleasure to meet you" I said. His hand dwarfed mine and was extremely warm. His presence brought a sense of peace, like I was home and I would be safe. "So Beau we're going to give you some scen.." John said before I interrupted him. "No need John" I said finally tearing my eyes away. John looked at me confused for a moment before I turned to look back at Beau and said "He's hired."
