"I haven't had a good life myself so I thought it would be better if I minded my business." Mrs. Styles smiled. "Alpha Arnold is strong but he's not the best Alpha out there. He's cruel and he's made sure I saw his cruelty like no one else did."

"I was trying to avoid that by not helping you. But now... Now if I don't, then I'll never be able to forgive myself." She said remorsefully as if it was her job to help her anyway.

On the contrary, Violet gaped at her, her heart throbbing violently in her throat. Her ears and face were hot, her mind replaying those words.

Did she really mean those words? Was she really going to help her? Did that mean... That she trusted her that she didn't do anything wrong? Did she believe Violet wasn't the one who tried to sedúce Ben?

As all those questions whirled in her mind, her wounds... Those wounds she was given since Kiara's birthday burned like embers.

In the four months of her punishment as Princess Kiara's maid, Violet was never tried to help.
