My dad is pissed at me again it seems as I stare at Claire my human mate. Yes a fucking human in my pack isn't exactly safe. Claire is tiny like Aunt May and my mom both look sad I'm doubting the mate bond.

Why you ask? Simple she is human a weak , tiny but sweet human and I got enemies out the ass pissed because me Joshua Fury has a ultimate wolf like my dad does. Fury is his wolf's name and the pack is named after him.

"accept mate", my wolf growls pissed I'm standing here doubting it.

"easier said then done you bitch if the she wolves get wind of this she is as good as dead",he growls at me annoyed I'm not putting up a fight. Don't get me wrong I want a mate, crave a mate I just thought my mate would be like me.

Claire sits near Gemma my best friend's mate and both talk quietly to each other. We took them from the school when a rogue Bert tried to mess with them. Both were just picking up their diplomas for early graduation.

"they won't accept us",I hear Gemma say close to Claire's ear.

"we could run away tonight I'm down if you are",Claire says rubbing her temples. She looks pale.

"did you eat?",I hear Gemma start rifling through her bag she looked worried.

"I'm good, Claire sighed and put her head down doing weird breathing.

"no your not, she dug more before frantically dumping it and looking for something, here eat it now Claire",she pushed it at my mate but Claire refused.

"No I'm not hungry...stop it",she tried weakly to push her away.

"what is happening?",dad hurries up.

"she can't miss meals it fucks up her sugars and makes them drop",Gemma hisses.

"Claire eat it now!",she barks but my mate tries to get away. When she stands the remaining color in her cheeks leaves and she drops. My dad catches her and hauls ass for the hospital while I stand shocked. What the fuck? Gemma glares at me before running after my dad.

I walk to the hospital because I know he is going to jump my ass with my mom later.

"you have no concern for our mate",Scar growls at me.

"no and I have valid reasons Scar",he scoffs. Getting to the hospital I watch doc start checking her over and look alarmed. Claire is underweight by a lot.

"why is she this thin?",he looks at Gemma alarmed.

"we are on our own so we struggle to afford shit",damn Lucas has a stubborn one I mumble to Scar who ignores me while watching Claire.

"how old are you ladies?",doc asks looking worried.

"we both just turned eighteen so we are old enough to survive alone",she huffs.

"is she on medication for her condition?",Gemma sighs.

"she was but it got to expensive and she stopped getting it filled",fuck she is diabetic like Aunt May.

"where is her prescription?",he looks worried as Gemma pulls out her phone and goes into a pharmacy app. She pulls it up and hands it over. He sighs and pulls out his cell and calls our hospital pharmacy placing an order to treat her.

"we can't afford this,Gemma sighs, she will flip over another bill. We plan to leave this town anyway",dad glares at me.

"son I would like a word with you and Lucas",he growls storming out. I reluctantly follow.

"explain now?",he looks ready to throw me.

"she is human both are dad never got their wolves and remain human we got so many after us and now we have to protect human mates on top. This is already hard enough ",he sighs.

"so your both willing to reject what you've been blessed with. Moon goddess doesn't make mistakes",he goes back in and we both look at each other.

"what should we do?",Lucas looks into the room. His mate is outspoken mine is somewhat quiet.

"it isn't going to be safe Lucas, he sighs dramatically, once the rogues find out we got humans as mates we are fucked and not in a good way. I say we find female wolves that are strong and take them as mates",I hear a gasp and turn to see Gemma glaring at us from the doorway.

"fuck you both",she hurries in and I hear her tell Claire who is awake now that they needed to leave as soon as possible.

"both are about as disgusting as Bert, she mumbles, let them have whores we need to leave now",Gemma was pissed.

"son what did you say?",dad looked upset.

"she heard me talking to Lucas dad we said we should take strong she wolves as our mates",the disappointment I seen in his eyes made me feel like shit. My dad looked at me with the saddest look and walked off ignoring me asking him to hear me out.

"your both stupid, uncle Duke said staring at his son in disbelief, so fucking stupid you can't see mates make you stronger then anyone else. You take women that aren't your destined your setting yourself up to fail. I'm so disappointed ",he walked off and Lucas sat outside the room head in his hands.

"we do this we fuck ourselves Josh I know you know this. My mom had a shitty start but she made my dad more then happy. Your mom also struggled to fill Laura's shoes but she exceeded that",I sighed.

"Claire we need to go, I heard Gemma beg her, they want strong she wolves over us so we need to flee. I say we stick with our plan and just go now",she wasn't trying to hide her plans at all.

"I will need a few days Gemma I feel really awful and you can't carry me",I sighed.

"the doctor said if you keep this up you could die Claire you need good food not just some here and there",Gemma sounded close to tears.

"like it matters, I hear my mate whimper, my own mate is just like them. He wants whores because they got a wolf and we don't. Bert at least told us he wanted pussy our mates can't even give valid reasons they don't want us. No wait...we are human so we aren't good enough",both sighed.

"we should of just left days ago"Gemma flopped in a chair.

"my head hurts and I just want to sleep",Claire sounded close to crying. Fuck you are hurting mate Scar growled at me.

"let them, Gemma said angrily, let them reject us and let them find wolf mates we can get real men that don't fucking run at trouble. My brother has friends ",for some reason I growled and Lucas stared at me.

"bro what the fuck?",I glared.

"Scar is mad he wants her",he keeps whining.

"yeah well mine won't talk to me at all",fuck we both are screwed. We sit outside the room when Gemma runs out yelling for help. I stand eyes huge and rush in Claire is flat lining.

"please help her",she sobs as doc rushes in and starts cpr on my mate. I feel absolute fear fill me. My dad and Duke run in and pull me back. Gemma is sobbing as we watch them shock Claire. My wolf is whining her name over and over.

"alpha I need to try serum to see if it will help her",my dad nods.

"just save her I'm sure her second chance mate will want her",what the fuck I'm standing right here.

"yes alpha",he yells for the injection as we watch my mate struggle to live.

"I hope your happy you douchebag if she dies your off the hook",everyone stares at her in disbelief.

"Gem now isn't the time, I hear Lucas say, back off",he sounds annoyed.

"don't call me Gem you haven't earned that as a matter of fact just say hey you my name is a privilege to say",she moves away from him and I watch my best friend deflate. The hurt in his eyes kill me and with a longing look at her he leaves the room. I don't follow because I want to make sure Claire lives.

"you might as well go son we will stay",dad motions to Duke as I watch them work on my mate. Fear I feel fucking fear.

"I'm good",I keep watching.

"he watching to make sure she dies",Gemma pipes up. I let out a vicious growl and she jerks.

"watch your tone!",Scar growls and her eyes go wide with fear.

"son",dad moves to me.

"Scar calm down ",uncle Duke says softly.

"back off",Scar growls again as my eyes flash golden.

"then leave the room we don't need you or your beta, Gemma says glaring, you both can reject us so we can leave",every eye looks at me and my next growl shakes the room. She gasps and moves back. I feel her fear and she should be Scar is scary when mad.

"Scar please calm down your mate needs help",my dad begs.

"shut her up",Scar growls at her.

"Gemma no more words",my dad tells her and she clamps her mouth shut.

"there we go, doc mutters, now we wait",he got her heart going before the injection and now we are standing here hoping it works. Color returns to her pale cheeks as her rapid heartbeat goes to normal and her little body relaxes. Scar stays watching as she breathes normal as well. Gemma sighs relieved before her little body slumps. My dad catches her and looks terrified.

"doc",is all he gets out before she is put on the bed and injected with the same healing serum. I watch as she sleeps on and I see Lucas run in looking scared.

"both are suffering from exhaustion and malnutrition, doc looks sad, both are extremely underweight and in no condition to leave here. Claire needs meds to help with her condition and Gemma needs food",he leaves and I'm staring at my mate. Lucas sits by Gemma's bed head in his hands.

"my office in thirty",my dad growls then leaves. We know the girls will be out for hours so we head there now. I ask a few guards to watch them and we go to face the music.

"explain your asshole reasons you both want to reject your mates",dad sits arms crossed.

"both are human",we blurt out. The glares are bad.

"and?",uncle Duke looks sad.

"we have enough to deal with, I sigh, from puberty till now all we do is get the shit shoved down our throats about being extremely strong and how many want us dead dad, he sighs, when we were small pups we were wanted dead for getting wolves that would rule the werewolf Kingdom and to get human mates feels like an insult. We have enough to protect but now we have to add humans to it",both look at each other and I see how disappointed they are. We got the stories on how my dad and Duke treated my mom and aunt May it was awful. I'm treating my other half awful but I'm fucking fearful she will be used against me.

"your not weak Josh,dad chimes in, none of you are weak and those girls will better you both. Just think before you do something you can't take back",Lucas and I both sigh as we head back to our mates. My head and heart at war with each other. Walking up I see Claire ripping out her intravenous tubes and standing on shaky legs. She is holding onto the bed as she tries to pull on her shoes. Weak huh? Scar sounds in my head. She looks pretty tough to me. Still bleeding he says looking at her arm. She tries to push off the bed and falls with a soft grunt.

"Josh her arm won't stop bleeding ",I hear Lucas in our mind link.

"I know, I link back, please get doc I'm heading in to get yelled at",he chuckles and runs off.

"what the hell are you doing!",I startle her and she sighs.

"trying to leave",she sounds exhausted.

"your in no shape to leave Claire",she tries to push herself up but falls back down. The defeated sag of her shoulders and the whimper has me moving to pick her up. Sad amber eyes look into my blue ones and I hold her closer.

"I was trying to leave so you can find a stronger mate",I'm stuck staring at her. I pull her closer and love the tiny body I'm holding. She needs us Scar mumbles enjoying our closeness.

"I don't think you should leave",I watch her lips as she takes in a soft breath.

"but you said...",I cut her off getting close enough to kiss her if I just angle my head.

"I don't care what I said, I'm fucked, I want you to stay ",her eyes go wide as I gently put her on the bed and hold her arm to stop the bleeding.

"I feel whoozy",she lays her head back just as doc runs in. He looks at me touching my mate in concern.

"she said she feels woozy and she also ripped out her intravenous line to escape ",her glare makes me smile.

Fiesty little thing Scar sighs happy. We want her he voices.

"I'm fine",she is lying we all see it.

"you are not and you pulled out vital meds your body needed Claire you do realize you could die if not treated properly, right?",when her eyes fill with tears I growl loud making everyone jump.

"stop making her cry",comes Scar deep growl of a voice. I yell for control back and he growls at me.

"don't make her cry Scar will flip",I cover her up and brush tears away. She feels cold Scar rumbles his control to soothe and make her feel better rearing up.

"sorry Josh I'm trying to get her to understand she can't run from this and her little body needs nutrition not random stuff here and there ",she hiccups and I shock everyone pulling her into my arms to hold. Her fingers clutch my shirt tight I guess to anchor herself.

"I'm tired",her voice says from my chest. I doubt I'm doing the right thing but I'm not letting her go.

"I know little one just rest now",she lays her head on my chest and I feel her body relax as sleep pulls her back under.

"what are you doing Josh?"Lucas looks at me in shock as I crawl in her bed and hold her tight to me while doc puts another intravenous line in and starts the meds back up.

"hell if I know,I mutter brushing her hair back, I'm just winging it bro. I still doubt this will work but I'm not letting her leave to go only goddess knows where unprotected",he moves to his mate Gemma and I see fear in his eyes.

We both have fear and doubt two awful combinations. Two things that can make you weak and that is something we don't have time for. I feel her little hand fist my shirt tighter as she snuggles closer.
