Chapter 8

Claire pov

Pick up Gemma I sigh as I dial again.

"hello, her sleep filled voice answers, hello",I pause before blowing up at her.

"Lucas was just dragged in severely injured and he may die",I hear her choke on a sob and then her screaming.

"what do I do?!",she yelled.

"don't come this way Josh is a mess and your the last person he needs to see right now",her choked sobs are heard before she hangs up. I sit looking out praying.

Josh rushes in and I look up tears filling my eyes as he rushes to hold me. He sniffs my neck and I feel his big body trembling.

"he is in surgery",he states.

"I'm sorry, I hug him tight ignoring my ribs hurting, I'm sorry Josh",I cry kissing him.

"shhhh little one no need to be sorry it isn't your fault,he kisses me, it isn't even Gemma's fault dad said they attacked him with thirty men and Lucas did good till he was stabbed in the chest. Dad and Duke wiped out all of them but twenty escaped and they then dragged him home. I pray he makes it",he kissed my lip
