Chapter 3

JESSICA 

“ You are his mate” I was shocked with the word that came out of her mouth. 

“ Mate! Can you break it down for me, because I don't understand what you mean by mate” I looked at her and I pulled her under the tree in the school so we can sit down and talk

“ Jess before I start, pls promise me you won't be angry with me and you won't stop being friends with me.” I nod my head and she continues 

“ I am a werewolf and the mate of the beta in Ravenous pack” 

I heard the word that I've been my nightmare since my dad left me 

“ What? Do you say ravenous pack? I mean the group of people that killed my dad. Why didn't you tell me all these while I am friends with my enemy.” I couldn't believe my ears that I was friend with my enemy 

“ Am sorry, the reason I didn't tell you is because of the death of your dad. You told me a ravenous pack killed your dad. I am sorry though I just found out that my mate is the beta last week so I don't really know much about the pack yet. My parent pack is the blood moon pack.” 

“ If you are from the blood moon pack, why do you come here to school, why not school over there?” I asked. 

“ They are always being bullied in my former school because my parents are omega and omega are slaves and warriors in the werewolves kingdom. The bully was too much that almost made me suicidal. So I decided to change the environment for my own sanity. I thank the moon goddess that I came here which I met you and also my mate who doesn't care about my identity as an omega” 

I hugged her and felt sorry for all the things that she has passed through. 

“ Am sorry for what you pass through in the hands of your pack and no matter what you are my best friend. So I have another question. What do you mean that professor Lukas is my mate” she held my hand and look at me

“ Professor Lukas is an alpha of this pack and also the owner of the school. He has never been with any female from what I heard and from the way you explain your ordeal with him. It shows you are his mate” She said and I shake my head 

“ No no it can't be, a murderer can't be my mate. He is the one that killed my father. It can't be” tears roll down my eyes and Mel came to clean it up 

“ I understand how you feel but you've to be strong enough to fight and know the truth behind your father's death. Am not sure the alpha is behind your father's death. You have to investigate what is going on and why it happened. My dear friend, don't jump into conclusion yet until we get the truth.” 

I nod my head and drag me to my feet 

“ We need to start going home, it's getting late” she held my hand and we went to our various houses. 

When I got home, I started thinking of everything Mel said. How is it possible I will be a mate to my dad's killer? 

I was furious and I threw a dagger at the wall 

“ I must destroy Alpha Lukas and his pack. I can never be your mate” 

I went to train till night fell because I was so angry. 

I heard a clap and I turn around and Sam my uncle standing and watching me as I was training  

“ You have improved more than before” he said smiling and coming towards me 

“ Uncle how long have you been standing here” he smiled

 “ for some minutes and I can see my little niece has improved” I smiled and he patted my back 

“ You have to rest. Enter inside and take your dinner and I noticed you haven't eaten since you came back from school. Can you share with me what is bothering you?” He said as he pulled me inside the house 

“ Nothing much, I just have a lot on my mind. Uncle can ask you a question?” We sat down on the dining table 

“ Eat first then you can ask me whatever you want to ask me” he said and the maid brought in food for us to eat. 

We ate in silence and once we were done eating my uncle called the maid to pack the plate from the table. 

I stood up from the dining and I went to sit at the couch in the parlour. 

“ My daughter what is it that you want to ask me” my uncle said moving towards me and he sat down on the couch also 

“ Uncle can you explain what mate means and what is also means to an alpha” he smiled 

“ Has alpha Lukas who killed your dad found his mate and you want to use his mate against him as revenge” I looked at him and nod my heard in affirmation 

“ Okay I will tell you more about the mate of an alpha.” He heaved a sigh and continued. 

“ The mate of an alpha is called Luna. They are the female leader of a pack. The bond between Luna and the alpha is unbreakable except they decide to break the bond by rejecting the bond. The bond between them is strong that they can feel each other's weakness and when one of them is in pain, the other can feel it. They draw them together no matter how hard they try not to accept it.” my uncle narrated and a lot is running through my mind on how to carry out my revenge. 

“ If one of the mate dies what will happen to the other one” I asked to confirm my thought 

“ A part of him will die also except he/she rejects the bond before one of them dies. If not, the pain will be unbearable and make one lose his/her sanity.” That intrigued me because I am not ready to lose my sanity over a murderer who killed my father. 

I asked another intriguing question 

“ Uncle, is it possible for an alpha to have a human mate?” Uncle Gary stared at me with a questioning look before he answered 

“ No, it hasn't been heard off and it is an abomination for a werewolf to have a human mate.” 

I was confused at this point and I began to ask myself how it is possible for me to be mated to the alpha. 

“ Uncle thanks for the information, I know how I will get my revenge.” He smiled at me, stood up and went to his room 

“ I need to rest, good night” he Left and I was alone strategies how I will take my revenge 

“ I will use the mate bond and get my revenge on him” I smiled mischievously 

A message pops up on my phone. It was from Mel. 

“ Tomorrow is weekend, I wants to hang out in the evening” I saw the message and decided to type her back 

“ No problem, so where are we going in the evening” she typed back 

“ We are going to bar for a drink and a new band will be playing at the bar” she replied and I smiled 

“ Okay then, see you tomorrow. We will talk more by tomorrow because right now am tired and I need my beauty sleep” I yawn as I was typing 

“ Okay Good night love. I love you” she replied 

“ Sweet dreams, I love you also. See you tomorrow bye” 

I dropped my phone and yawn, I decided to retire to bed
