A Deadly Ambush

I had half of my attention on the road and the other half, on Matt. He had the looks of one in pure anguish, as he looked at the damaged phone in his hand and I somehow felt pity for him. Maybe I had overreacted.

I still wasn't cool anyways, with the fact that he had to let Cheryl go inside all by herself.

I turned to him, after making sure we were not about to smash into a parked truck anytime soon, and said, "I still don't see the reason why you had to leave Cheryl to go inside there by herself. You of all people should know that we are in difficult times, and the least you could have done was to actually be mindful of the dangers you would encounter in whatever you do and wherever you go. I never expected you to be so careless Matt."
