MasukOctavia had came back and told Amelia that Alpha Aiden was nowhere to be found, he had left the house.
Amelia let out a shaky sigh as she stared down at her daughter, worry tightening around her chest. She picked up her phone and dialed Aiden. This time, he answered. “What do you want?” His voice was cold. Distant. It pierced through her like a knife. In the background, she heard a female voice. “Is that Amelia?” The voice was familiar, painfully familiar. It was Sofia. He was with her. Her fingers trembled. Her grip on the phone tightened. “Aiden… it’s Eva. She’s sick. We need to take her to the hospital,” she said as calmly as she could, but her voice cracked slightly. “I’m on my way,” he said, and the line went dead. He has been seeing Sofia. How long had it been going on? The thought clawed at her chest, threatening to unravel her sanity. But now wasn’t the time. Eva was all that mattered. She turned to her daughter, her breathing soft and shallow now, her fever seeming to calm slightly. “Octavia, you can go to sleep. I’ll spend the night with Eva and wait for Aiden,” Amelia said. Octavia nodded quietly and left, closing the door behind her. Alone, Amelia sat by Eva’s bedside and stroked her damp hair. Tears gathered in her eyes. “Mommy, why are you crying? I’m okay. I’m going to get well,” Eva said softly, her voice fragile. Amelia forced a smile. “I know, honey. You’re a strong girl. Daddy is on his way. He’ll take you to the hospital.” Eva gave a faint nod. “Eva… we’re having a baby,” Amelia said quietly. A wide smile spread across Eva’s pale lips. “I’m having a baby brother?” she whispered, her voice cracking as tears spilled from her eyes. Eva had always wanted a baby brother. Someone to play with. Someone to protect. “Yes. A baby brother,” Amelia whispered, wiping her daughter’s tears. “I’ll name him Arthur… and share all my toys with him. He’s going to be the next Alpha. We’ll both be Alphas together,” Eva murmured. Amelia smiled through her tears, brushing her daughter’s hair back. But then… Eva began to shiver. Violently. Before Amelia could react, Eva threw up and in the middle of it, there was blood. A chill swept down Amelia’s spine. “Maids!” she screamed. “Clean this up. Octavia! Towels—now!” She cleaned her daughter up quickly, heart pounding. “It’s okay, honey. You’re going to be okay. Daddy’s almost here,” she whispered, pulling Eva tightly into her arms, trying to stop her own hands from shaking. “I love you, Mommy…” Eva whispered weakly. “I love you too, baby.” Just then, the door burst open and Alpha Aiden stepped in, eyes scanning the room. “What’s wrong?” he asked sharply, moving to take Eva from her arms. But Eva clung tightly to Amelia, her small hands clutching her clothes. She didn’t want to go. Not yet. “I don’t know what’s happening…” Amelia said, her voice breaking. They rushed to the car, and minutes later, they were at the hospital. Now they stood outside the ward, watching as doctors worked frantically over their child. Aiden was pacing, hands clenched, jaw tight. He looked like a caged angry wolf. Suddenly, he spun around to face her. “If anything happens to my daughter, I swear to God, I’ll make you pay,” he hissed. Amelia blinked, stunned. “What… what the hell are you saying?” her voice cracked with disbelief. She wasn’t going to argue with him. Not now. All that mattered was Eva. Just then, the doctor stepped out of the ward. “Doctor, how is she?” they both asked, voices overlapping. The doctor hesitated. “Your daughter was poisoned… but we’re trying our best to…” A nurse walked up and whispered something urgently. He nodded and followed her. “Excuse me,” he muttered and walked away. Aiden turned back to Amelia, eyes wild. “You… You poisoned Eva, didn’t you? God! They warned me. They told me you’d do something like this. I should’ve known you were evil!” he barked. Amelia stared at him, too stunned to speak. Poison Eva? Her own daughter? The child she carried for nine months? The child she nearly died giving birth to? Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. Only a silent gasp. She didn't know what to say at this point. She turned and rushed inside the ward. Eva lay there, small and trembling, her eyes fluttering open. “Mommy,” she whispered. “I’m here, baby. You’re going to be fine,” Amelia said, holding back the scream that threatened to rip out of her throat. She couldn’t cry. Not now. Not in front of her daughter. “Did someone give you anything at school, honey?” she asked gently. “No, Mommy. I only ate the food I had after coming home from school,” Eva said faintly. Amelia swallowed hard. She had prepared that food herself. And Octavia had served it. But Octavia? No… she had been with Eva since birth. She’d never poison Eva. “I love you, Mommy. You know that, right?” Eva whispered, her small hand pressing against Amelia’s stomach. “And I love baby Arthur.” Amelia held her hand, her tears finally falling. “I love you too, baby.” Then… Eva’s eyes slowly closed. The monitor let out a long, piercing beep. The lines on the screen went flat. “Eva? What’s going on? Eva?! EVA!! Doctor!!” Amelia screamed. Aiden, sitting outside the ward, stood immediately. “Doctor! I don’t know what's happening to Eva. She suddenly closed her eyes,” she cried out as he rushed in. The medical team swarmed around the little girl. And then… “Time of death,” the doctor said, his voice barely above a whisper. The room spun. Amelia collapsed to the floor, eyes wide, breath caught in her throat. Eva… Eva… Eva’s gone… She couldn’t feel her heart. It had stopped. Her lungs burned. Her soul shattered. The last thing she saw was the ceiling spinning before everything went black. To be continued…Damien exhaled slowly, the sound heavy, strained. He didn’t have a witch. Not here. Not in Red Moon Pack. This wasn’t Velaris…there were no allies waiting at his command, no one he could call without consequence. And at that moment, the truth settled like poison in his chest. There was only one option left.Aiden.His jaw tightened instantly.A dark flicker passed through his eyes.God… he hated that man.Hated him.And the fact that the very first name Amelia had whispered when she opened her eyes was Aiden……it made something ugly coil inside him.Sharp.Burning.Jealousy mixed with rage. For a brief second, a dangerous thought crossed his mind. What if Aiden never makes it?His fist clenched tighter. But Amelia’s weak breathing pulled him back.“You have to leave, Damien…” Amelia’s voice trembled, breaking through his thoughts. Her eyes darted nervously toward the door, panic creeping into every inch of her expression.“Every second you stay here, your life is in danger… please—you
His lips parted slightly, uncertainty flickering across his face as a cold thought slipped into his mind. What if this is a trap? The air in the room suddenly felt heavier.Too quiet.Too still.Damien slowly turned back, his fingers tightening into a fist as he stepped out of the room and gently pushed the door closed behind him. The soft click echoed louder than it should have.He was about to leave, but then he froze. His eyes shifted and then he noticed something. Another door.Half-hidden.Unnoticed before. His throat went dry.A strange pull settled deep in his chest, tightening around his ribs.He swallowed hard and took a slow step toward it.Then…A faint sound.Thump…His body stiffened.Thump… thump…A heartbeat.Weak.Barely there. But real. And then it hit him,That scent.Faint.Fragile.But unmistakable. His wolf stirred instantly, rising from deep within him like it had been waiting.Mate.His breath hitched.“…Cassia…” he whispered under his breath, his voice crackin
A sense of familiarity washed over her.It didn’t come gently. It hit her, sudden, deep, unsettling.Seraphina’s fingers tightened slightly against her lap as her eyes drifted outside the window, scanning the passing roads, the trees, the buildings. Her chest rose slowly. Then fell.A quiet breath escaped her lips. She didn’t understand it.But her body… did.Her wolf stirred faintly beneath her skin.Restless.Uneasy.Like something buried was trying to claw its way back to the surface. She took a deep breath and sighed, her fingers pressing lightly against her thigh as if grounding herself.“Are you okay?” Beta Kael asked, his voice cutting through her thoughts as his eyes flickered briefly toward her.Seraphina blinked once, pulling herself back.“Yes…” she said softly, but there was a slight pause before the word came out. “I’ll call Damien and inform him we’re in Red Moon Pack.”She reached for her phone immediately, unlocking it with steady fingers, but the slight tension in her
Except, Amelia is Astrid’s child… and she never died in the fire?No way.Alaric’s fingers tightened slowly around the steering wheel, the leather creaking under the pressure of his grip. His jaw locked, muscles twitching as he shook his head once, then again, as if he could physically throw the thought out of his mind.It was impossible. She had been in that fire. He had made sure of it. Astrid was in labor that night, weak, vulnerable, so, he even lured Greg out so he would not save any of them. There was no way the child survived. No way.Amelia…?A scoff escaped his lips, but it sounded hollow even to his own ears.Amelia was weak. He had seen it himself. There was nothing about her that screamed power, nothing that resembled the terrifying force Astrid once was. She was just a girl, a mere werewolf who had been lucky enough to marry his son. Nothing more.Nothing.But then—His thoughts halted abruptly. The bite.Aiden’s bite. His breath hitched, chest rising sharply as the memor
The symptoms of the bite.Loss of control… and then madness. It was already happening to Aiden.James felt it settle heavily in his chest as he stared at him. His throat tightened, his heartbeat quickening as the realization hit him fully.Aiden was no longer just sick.He was standing on a thin line… between life and death. And he was slipping.James’ eyes burned, tears gathering without permission, blurring his vision for a brief second before he forced them back. His jaw clenched hard, his fingers curling into fists by his side.“Aiden…” he called softly.Aiden didn’t look at him immediately. His shoulders rose and fell slowly, like every breath cost him effort.“I’m dying, James…” Aiden said finally, his voice low, rough, almost distant. He let out a faint, humorless breath.“I just want to make sure Amelia gets back to Arthur… and that they’re okay.”His eyes dropped for a second before lifting again.“That’s all I want. I don’t care if that’s the last thing I do before I die…”J
“And I think the power is passed down willingly from mother to offspring… how can she pass down what she doesn’t know exists inside of her?” Beta Greg muttered, and silence immediately followed. The room went still.Aiden didn’t move. His jaw tightened slightly, his fingers curling against his thigh as the words sank in. No cure. No escape. Just time… slipping through his fingers. His chest rose slowly, unevenly. He was going to die.The thought sat heavy in his lungs, refusing to leave. But first… Amelia. He swallowed hard.“Does my father know Astrid was carrying your child?” Aiden asked suddenly, his voice low, controlled.Greg raised his head and stared at him.“Yes… he knew,” he said slowly. “But he didn’t know the child had survived. He thought she died in the fire with Astrid. He believes Amelia is mine and Evenly’s biological child.”He paused, his gaze hardening slightly.“If your father had known Amelia was Astrid’s… he would have never allowed you to marry her in the first
Aiden arrived home with Racheal, but the moment they walked through the door, he couldn’t breathe in the same space as her. He left her downstairs without a word and climbed the stairs slowly, exhaustion dragging at his limbs. As he reached the hallway leading to his room, a sound stopped him.A so
“What do you mean?” Aiden asked, his voice low as his eyes moved from the council members to his father. His pulse fluttered under his skin, waiting…dreading…whatever was coming next.“The True Alpha… she’s back,” Alpha Alaric said quietly. “We believe she’s alive.”Aiden’s brows pulled together. T
Meanwhile, Damien, who had left the house early after dropping Arthur off at school, drove straight to the hospital. He wasn’t sure why—only that something inside him had said Cassia might have gone back to the hospital. Maybe she was there. When his car rolled into the hospital garage, he was abo
“…I didn’t even say goodbye to my mom,” Amelia whispered again, her voice barely audible as she collapsed against Aiden’s chest. Her body shook with sobs, every breath trembling as though grief itself was tearing her apart.Aiden’s throat tightened. “I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice rough with em
